This place is pretty awesome, the food is really fresh and locally sourced, all the goodies a hungry traveler would need and with 3-4 hour wait times it is a great location too!
Sandwiches are great, had the Caribbean chicken jerk with pineapples, onions and bbq, she had the turkey with provolone, pesto and tomato on wheat. Â Both were great.
did NOT know you could grill you sandwich, that should be a must!
The Orcas Village Store has become the gourmet grocery store on the island and offers a great selection of prepared food. Â The sandwiches are amazing here, so if you're looking for a quick bite on the go definitely check this place out. Â I also think the pizzas here are very tasty but they are sold uncooked, so they are perfect only if you have access to an oven while you're staying on the island.
Review Source:This is a great place to stop for a sandwich, either when you just get off the ferry or when you are waiting in line to board a ferry.
The service is prompt and the sandwiches are good! I highly recommend the ham, brie and mango chutney.
Also, be sure to ask them to grill your sandwich. You will choose your sandwich out of a self-serve deli case, but if you ask, they will then put it on a panini press for you so you can have a nice toasty and hot sandwich.
Oh, this is a little grocery store, too, if you want to pick up some wine, cheese and crackers for an island picnic.
And, if you are headed off the island, this is a great place to pick up some local products to take as gifts for the folks back home.
Orcas Village Store is a fantastic little market for all your needs on the island. Â Located just steps from the ferry landing, this market has everything from a little deli, espresso counter, meat department, dairy, produce, and dry goods. Â I generally use beef, organic eggs and milk prices to compare to other stores. Â Orcas Village Store prices were all in line with a regular supermarket or someplace like Trader Joe's, but the quality seemed better. Â The produce was exceptionally colorful and bright. Â Had we had a grill available for us to use, I probably would've bought a couple of rib-eye steaks here. Â This tiny market beats out the other big market on the island (Island Market), which you wouldn't expect, being so close to the tourist drop-off. Â Stop here first, before heading out to your island destination.
Review Source:This little store is, actually, as good as it gets. Â The freshest produce, meats, and selection of high end grocery items can't be beat. Â They only carry the best. Â You can even get caviar there if the mood strikes you. Â I live a mile away and think it is one of the greatest things about living on this part of the island. Â We have a stylin' grocery store that is well stocked, and offers an astounding variety of goods and deli items. Â I'd say they increase our quality of life here on the island.
