A new restaurant with great possibilities.  Unusual decor, friendly service and great food.  This place may become the "in" place in the area, once the staff elevates the service to match the food.  Certainly a rising star.

Let me finish by saying that I know what a real 5-Star Restaurant is like, so no 5-Stars for now.  3-Stars is about right.

First, I want to move and live around the corner from this place! In my wildest dreams, I would never have found the tiny town of Urbanna Virginia. Thanks to Living Social and a few nights at the Chesapeake Inn, we found it and this wonderful restaurant.

The bar has a strange, and loud, high top table seating area however the the court yard is a lovely alternative. The dining area is upscale and classic antique all at the same time. Beautiful old windows and doors repurposed to a simply stated elegance.

To say the food is divine would be a gross understatement. Simple and elegant without the usual pompous attitutde that so many other 5 star restaurants have.

No request is deemed ridiculous. Example; Most people want, for some unknown reason, coctail sauce or mignonette on their oysters. There are only so many places that ketchup belongs and oysters aren't one of them. Having come from Florida and having been to a place called City Oyster, I wanted a combination of soy sauce and grated ginger. Sadly, ginger was not available but the soy was not looked upon as strange which I appreciated. It actually is wonderful!

In closing, we have been to many 5 star restaurants in so many states and cities across the USA. This little place is like the Little Engine that could. It can and does.

My mom called me to tell me I had to write a review for Yelp!  She is still raving about it!  She said - "Two aging, tired golfers happened upon this little gem of a restaurant in Urbana tonight."  I think we can say Two Thumbs Up!!!

Amazing caesars salad, special potato soup with sauteed bacon, and crabcake appetizers (and we come from a seafood family).  The servings are plentiful and it was just a delight, according to them!

Personally, I can't wait to eat there!

What a delightful surprise!  This incredible restaurant nestled in this quiet , quaint town.  The food was superb.  Wonderful seafood specials and unique pastries.  The atmosphere was chic and inviting.  The service was excellent.  We even came back for the Sunday brunch.  A completely enjoyable experience.

If you're looking for a really great meal in a really quaint town, Ostra is it. The restaurant opened in the old raw bar and restaurant of the former Urbanna Inn, which is now the Chesapeake Inn (which has beautiful rooms). I had dinner there with family and really enjoyed myself. The menu has seafood (raw and cooked), meat, and some veggie options. We had the appetizer special of mussels in a spicy tomato broth--delicious! We were fighting over the broth and requested more bread to sop it all up. I had a fish special that came with a very good sauce and a side of grit cakes. I couldn't decide between the grit cakes or the mashed potatoes; as much as I liked the grit cakes, I liked the mashed potatoes better (I stole some bites from another plate). They have a full bar with reasonable prices for wine. We ate in the bar area, which was a bit loud and the people I was with said that the restaurant room is also pretty loud. Some of the people I was with said their food was too salty, but I didn't feel mine was overly salted. My only complaint, aside from the noise, is the wine glasses--too skinny--but that did not stop me from drinking wine! The staff was very nice and seemed toe njoy working there. It was a nice evening and I look forward to going back for more good food.
