Hooray for new, good things in Charlemont.
Otters is still getting its feet wet, slowly expanding hours and menu, but signs are good so far. Â
Recently opened in the old restaurant space near Oxbow Resort Motel. Â Decor is a bit lacking (getting there, slowly), but is a great place to stop after, or before, rafting or ziplining. Â
Have only tried breakfast, but ingredients are fresh and much is homemade. Â Specials are seasonal and interesting, and prices are very reasonable. Â Portions are generous, Â you will not leave hungry. Â Â Full liquor license as well, and there is wifi. Â Experiencing some of the issues of any new restaurant (inexperienced staff, varying wait times for food, odd samplings of condiments) but the coffee keeps flowing and everyone is friendly. Â There is generally a newspaper to read, revel in our entertaining small-town police log if you are visiting from 'the city.' Â (Also a tip if you're from out of town. Â Heading west, this is pretty much your last breakfast stop until North Adams)
Have sampled an asparagus omelet, homemade hash, breakfast wrap, and mozzarella tomato and basil omelet. Â All satisfied, and left happy. Â Will report back on lunch and drinks.
