Its not easy to find fresh, heart healthy food in Truth or Consequences Restaurants but the Pacific Grill is the place if you are vegan, vegetarian or want fresh, healthy food without greasy sauces. Its the only restaurant in town with a top notch salad bar with loads of choices of crisp, fresh veggies, sprouts, nuts, Â tasty dressings and other ingredients to build your own salad. I had their wild salmon , cooked to perfection with a wonderful mango salsa and the vegetables were cooked just to al dente perfection too! Dont be put off because it isn't FANCY looking decor-wise because the food and the service is as good as any fancy San Francisco grill!
Review Source:This is a very decent choice for seafood and other main courses in T or C. Â The ambience wasn't great, but the place was roomy and clean. Â My wife needs vegetarian and/or seafood, and she found some decent mahi mahi on the menu. I took the spaghetti and spicy sausage with red sauce and was very happy with it. Â The asian dishes looked tempting but I wasn't in the mood this time. Â We really enjoyed the included salad bar which was great for building a big, fresh healthy salad. Â They have a variety and reasonably-priced ($2.75) selection of bottled beer. Â The local wine is also nicely-priced, but my wife said the Cabernet was only 'okay' Â Overall, this place had pretty good food at a very good price ($38 including drinks, tax and tip).
Review Source:We took a bet on this place even though it only had a few reviews (all positive), and are glad that we did. We were pleasantly surprised, given the broad rows of chains and fast food places that greet you in TorC.
From the outside, this place doesn't look too inviting, but the atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming, if basic. The staff are all very well-dressed, and we found our waiter, Sonny, to be very friendly and helpful. We both had seafood-based dishes, and both found our food to be well-prepared and healthy. Nothing too fancy, but solid meals. The salad bar (included with most entrees) was not that big, but had everything you needed to put together a good starter. Given the very reasonable prices, the salad bar was really a bonus! Our portions were filling and the bread with the meals was a nice touch. All in all, the food was excellent value for the price.
I will also mention that they feature New Mexico wines, and I thought the Cabernet Sauvignon was quite good, especially at the price they were offering it at. If we had any room left, we would have jumped at their desserts, which all sounded great.
My wife and I ate here on a Saturday night before enjoying the hot springs. It was recommended to us as the "best place in town." We walked in without reservations, and had no trouble being seated. Although the ambiance is minimal, the food was quite good. I enjoyed the grilled Halibut with shoestring fries, while my wife had the mixed grill that came with grilled shrimp, Bay scallops, and chicken. Everything was cooked nicely- the Halibut was not overcooked, which is sometimes hard to get. They have a salad bar which is included with most entrees. It included the usual salad veggies; nothing unique here, but everything seemed fresh and there were quite a few dressing choices. Our server was competent and attentive. I would certainly return here if I was looking for seafood in T or C, NM.
Review Source:This place really needs to get some yelp reviews, it's a great spot in T or C. They have a good assortment of seafood and Asian dishes. We tried the teriaki mahi and the chicken chow mein. It was so cheap I felt guilty as I loaded up a salad (salad bar was included with the mahi) with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach and blue cheese. Friendly/fast service made for an enjoyable dinner.
Highly recommended if you're looking for an inexpensive, healthy dinner in T or C!
