First time I would have to rate this place better, but as business shows and reviews show they are starting to get worst. The food was horrible. The service was good, but I'm there to eat and drink. The beer is cold, but they primarily have corporate beer on tap. You guys got rid of the magic hat, and replaced it with some coors product. Please fix your establishment.
Review Source:We went here for Sam's and Clams Wednesday night. Â I ordered two pounds of clams, and they had Magic Hat #9 on tap. Â The service was fantastic. Â The clams were absolutely delicious! Â I also had the calamari, and we all split the bread bowl crab dip after our meal. Â The food was absolutely fantastic! Â
The place was clean and it looked great inside (Irish Pub theme). Â From what I understand, the owners are Irish and so is the Chef (he came out and had a Guiness with us when the kitchen closed). Â Overall it was a great experience and I couldn't be happier with the service, the ambiance, and the quality and portions of the food. Â 4 stars! Â
We plan to make this a regular spot. Â I heard really good things about the wings, guess I'll have to try them next time!
One more thing to note - they do not take http://restaurant.com vouchers. Â There were signs all over the place (I guess they get that a lot). Â There is a review by Toni S on 1/9/2011that mentions that they used a http://restaurant.com certificate. Â It probably should be edited or removed.
I agree with the above review. Thank goodness I had a http://restaurant.com certificate that helped defray the cost of the meal. I would have been extremely annoyed if I had to pay close to $40 for lunch for two. Let me start by saying that menu items are overpriced and portions ridiculously small. I ordered a burger and inquired if they were cooked on a char grill or flat top as I prefer a char grill for the smoky flavor of a burger. I was informed it was a char grill. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The burger was lackluster and had no flavor. I also ordered onion rings at $4.95 and received 6 onion rings on a plate. That's right., 6 !
They were just ordinary onion rings. I guess I'm spoiled. I'm used to receiving a heaping platter and would have been more than happy to pay for the additional cost if the portion size was fair.
It's truly a shame. The restaurant itself is actually quite nice, the decor clean and lovely. (well it should be, they just opened this past summer)
Too bad the food doesn't live up to the expectations.
Let me qualify this by saying that I really hate, I mean HATE, wannabe Irish places. Â Don't get me started, but putting some wooden beams on the ceiling, throwing "Irish" phrases on a few signs, and serving Guinness does not an authentic Irish Pub make.
The servers were nice, although they didn't offer us any water with our meals. Â We had a few of the "Irish" entrees and they were average, almost good in flavor, but completely overpowered by salt. Â I don't have a high threshold for salt, but this left my tongue burning. Â
Siamsa still wins for the best Irish bar and restaurant in the region.
