Food was decent. Staff was friendly.  I will go there again.

Love the food! Our favorite tacos up here.  I also am very confused by people's reviews of the food.   Those saying it's not authentic must be going to a lot of the wrong restaurants.  When my family is begging me to make tacos and I don't feel like it,  this is where we go. Service is usually slow though.

This place use to be AWESOME when they opened - loved coming for lunch or dinner. Now, the customer service has tanked, it takes 20-30mins to get food on the table when the restaurant is empty. We watched as the staff talked and left customers at their tables waiting, and people at the front to be acknowledge. It seemed like a perfect setup for "Kitchen Nightmares". I'll be passing on this place.

Having grown up in a Mexican home with excellent cooking, I like to consider myself somewhat of an expert when it comes to authentic Mexican food. I have no idea what all the negative reviews are all about...the food and ambiance are awesome!

Although we had to wait for our waitress to  take our drinks at first, she was on the ball the rest of the time.

Wife had the Enchiladas Suizas (chicken) and I had the combination plate with the enchilada, a chile relleno and a beef mini burrito. Portions were large. The salsa and chips were fresh and just plain delicious.

I don't know why the low reviews are happening, because every time I go it is great.  Their fajitas are awesome!  My wife always orders the shrimp cocktail which she says is the best in the desert.  The mariachi's are always a nice touch.

My only complaint are the expensive cadillac margaritas!!  Get that in check and I will give you another star!

My Mom and I only came here because my Mom had a 2 for 1 coupon and we've never been here before. Ehhh it was just ok, it's very overpriced I thought. The staff was very nice and that may make me come back. What I didn't like however was when we sat down the waitress asked if we'd like to try their appetizer of chips and guacamole, simple enough right? Well while the guac and salsa were really good we were shocked to see that it was $9 when we got the check. I mean damn, it was good but not $9 good. Yes I know it was our fault for not clarifying first but still, I would in no way have guessed it was $9 for CHIPS damn.

Funny that we went here last night beCAUSE it's so good, only to get a Maverick badge for checking into a 2 star place. The food is good, gourmet mexican, good presentation, good service.
Yes the prices are a little bit higher, but you're also not sitting in a 20 year old seat with the same silverware that 500000000000 people have used. It's actually decorated, rather than having ceramic donkeys and bart simpsons from TJ placed randomly.
We will continue to go here and recommend it to friends.

I read all the reviews, but I didn't stay away as I should have.  This establishment is beautifully decorated. That is where the positive comments end. This place is expensive for the staples they offer. Portion very small. Service is poor, but friendly. I didn't leave a tip for the server who brought my soda and took my order. I can get the same level of service at Taco Bell. The receipt had a guideline for tipping. What a joke! The quality of food was poor. Chicken fajitas were dry and tasteless. This will be the next restaurant in this location to go out of business .

I came in and I went to the bar. I had to wait 10 min to get asked "Hi how can I help you?" That was very frustrating. I should have been told HI when I walked in. After that I was asked "what do you need?" I was like wow so I said FOOD! After that I ordered a plate of enchiladas. It was great but the cheese one. That was nasty. I got to tell the manager and he fixed it. Great job on his part.

Over all the Manager did take care of the problem but I should have been acknowledged from the point I walked in. It was not packed. I should have not been asked what do I need. So that gets you 3 stars. Over all food quality was ok not some thing I would drive an hour just to eat it.

One other thing I should point out The name of the place! I would never name my place after a criminal. Sorry had too.

Try changing your name and try servicing every one that comes in and making great food not just ok food.

We came here on Black Friday to take a brake from shopping, and was really surprised by this place. As we walked in,  at least five people greeted us as we went to the Bar. We instantly had service, ice cold beer, large amazing Margarita's, fresh chips and salsa, great decor, very attentive servers and staff, a great first time experience!
We had the Molcajete Ranchero, with fresh homemade tortilla's, and except for the price, we were happy with our order.
This place is a little upscale from other local places, but, definitely worth it, and we will be back next time for the mariachi band, and margaritas!

2 for 1 fajitas on mondays, and we strolled in on a monday -whohoooo!
That made the choice fairly easy since they rest of the prices are $12+ an etree which is alot more than we are used to paying for mexican in the area.
The location is very nice, we were so suprised how romantic and trendy the restaurant is decorated, fr sure not typical in the high desert!
It was fairly empty and the service was fast.
I got the guacamole made at the table which I always love, it was good but pricy at $9.
We both had the shrimp and chicken with rice, beans and a great salsa.
It was very good, a generous portion, good quality meat.
I would recommend coming here for the reduced lunch prices are on a date, they have different specials each night of the week like kids eat free.

I was a regular when this place was the old "On The Border" restaurant. Damn I miss that place, now I have to drive in to Rancho Cucamonga for the next closest.

Decided to try this new restaurant out with my family for dinner, the menu looked very similar to the old restaurant as well as the decor. I ordered a fish plate with rice and beans since they did not have fish tacos on the menu. MISTAKE...basically a fried piece of crappy tilapia with the consistency of rubberized jelly with tasteless rice.  Wife had the chicken fajitas...said the chicken was too "fatty". My son was happy with his cheese enchiladas.

The service was friendly and very attentive. Margaritas were good and poured strong.  Chips and salsa was good and plentiful but not as good as OTB. Guacamole was made fresh at the table and was outstanding. The price was comparable to most sit-down Mexican restaurants.

I will most likely pass this place up the next time I want mexican food. Plenty of other good mexican restaurants around town like El Tio Pepes and Taco Chon.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Worst Mexican food I have ever had! The wait staff was rude and if you ask them a question they react like you are bothering them.  Asked for a menu to order and the hostess threw them onto he table instead of handing them to us and walked away.  My family and I will never return, wouldn't matter if they were serving life saving drugs!! Awful awful place...they should have paid us to eat there!!

Called at a few minutes before 10 AM this morning to inquire about the prices (adult and children) for Sunday brunch; the Web site was offering a $4 discount coupon for adults.

The person answering the phone didn't know, and said to call back at 11!

So after reading the Yelp reviews, I think we'll pass on this place tomorrow.

The decor is amazing, the live band is super cool.  The staff is so nice and sweet...

The reason it is so low in ratings is the food is bland... at first I thought people were being too mean on previous reviews because they were more "Americanized" than super hole in the wall authentic.. but they are right.

The food is really bland and flavorless.  The rice is overcooked to soggy and the wait was forever.. granted the free chips/salsa is amazing.. the flavor alone on the salsa is more than enough to come back.

I will be back.. because my in-laws live in Hesperia and having a liking to Mexican food.

BTW- The prices are a bit high for "Hesperia" and the food quality you'd receive here.. maybe to compensate for the amazing Salsa...

Salsa - 5 Stars all the way.

I didn't experience any of the problems other yelpers experienced. Perhaps because my boyfriend and I went during a week day early afternoon.

We were seated right away and given complimentary chips and salsa.  I must warn you that the 'guacamole dip' cost extra. I say this because the couple sitting next to us made a scene about being charged extra.

The service was decent. Only complaint was that we ordered tortillas that we never received.

The food was good and plentiful. I could not finish my plate. I would definitely go again.

Not sure why all the negative reviews. I went here on a Friday night. Not too busy got seated right away. Mariachi music was playing. Diana or Deanna was our waitress. Service was excellent, she was very tentative. Food came out with no delays but was warm. I like my food HOT. I would say it was a little pricey but I didn't have the issues of all the previous yelpers.

This place was not impressive........first off the drinks and the food is extremely over priced! I sat at the bar area and had two drinks, chips and guacamole and my bill came to $40.00!!!! It took 25 minutes to bring me my guacamole and by that time I forgot that I even ordered it........lt had no flavor..........and the lady who made my guacamole in front of me flinged the damn guacamole in my face and laughed...The waitress/waitors run around as if they are confused little worker ants and not trained very well. It is sad to see such a hopeful place have such poor service! On another note I paid for my bill at the bar and went to finish drinking my drink with a group of friends.........at theor table they got no service until another 15 minutes until I had to flag someone down! the waitor took their drink orders and someone else dropped them off at their table. I left when I was done with my drink, but later when i heard from a friend that after I left they asked 3 times for thier bill and never recieved one. They were told to wait for their waitor and that they were going to find him. Well 25 minutes later they just got upset and left just leaving what they thought may be the bill on the table. In my opinion for being ignored the whole time it seems as if they didnt want their money.......so they should have just left without paying....but lucky for them they did. It will be for a while that I give this place another try! Since then I just have been going to my favorite place that has been around for 20 years now! Where they actually have lunch and drink specials and strong margaritas for a good price and delicious warm food! La Casita Cafe in Hesperia!!

We wanted to try, for the first time, lunch on a Saturday afternoon.  We were sat right near the door, underneath the glasses from the bar, directly across from the hostess desk.  The bar glasses were filthy, covered in dust, and they were using them to serve drinks.  We got to watch the constant parade of waiters and bussers running to (and into each other) at the Hostess desk, as well as our wonderful view of the trash and a mess of wires.  The area was extremely crowded and the bussers would have to squeeze past each other with food and plates.  The menu was extremely expensive for lunch and the portions were very small.  Our dishes were old, chipped, and mismatched.  The waitress failed to tell us the specials, but the busser knew all about it after the fact.  The waitress and bussers were attentive when it came to asking if we needed anything, but they always had a plate of half eaten food or dirty napkins in their hands, waving it over our table.  When we actually asked for chips or napkins, they forgot.  We noticed the table next to us received the wrong order, but the guy told his wife to forget it.  They complained the entire meal.  The food was just blah, small portions.  It all took too long.  Later, we felt sick to our stomach's from the horrible food, and we only ate a small amount!  Beware!!!

I went here yesterday and thank goodness I was not buying. I ordered the Chili rellano and tostada. The tostada came out like one from Del Taco.....yes that small and a small chili filled with cheese...covered in egg batter. The virgin margarita I ordered came in a small drinking glass and was way expensive. They sat us near the back door shoved by a table. The bus people kept coming and taking our empty things but even my drink that still had my ice in it? I was nursing that...lol. The food is sub par compared to..the taco shop!!! my companion was great but the food and service....2

Hey Everyone!  I recommend you not to go here until they get their act together.  We went here on Father's Day...What a big disappointment!  Nice atmosphere but very poor service and food quality.

I think Chef Ramsey from Kitchen Nightmare needs to pay them a visit before they go under just like the previous Mexican place.  You would think they can run a business since they have two other locations.

We waited 30 minutes before we got our meal as my two kids were getting very restless.  It was busy but not that busy.  The food was very cold once we got our order, ON TOP OF THAT, the waiter messed up our simple order.  He could not figure out that I wanted a burrito rather than a tamale for the combination plate.  Also, I noticed the ceramic plates that the food serviced on were chipped on the corners.  Not very attractive.

You also won't feel you got your money's  worth since the portions are small.  So, we ended complaining to a manager to correct the problem but wished we got a refund instead. ;(

Went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was a bit busy but my party of three was seated quickly. Our soft drinks took a while to get to us and the beer even longer.
The albondigas was good, as well as the chips and salsa. My husband had the diablo shrimp. He likes spicy but OMG! I don't know how he was able to eat it. Diablo is an understatement!  Unless you enjoy Dante's inferno unleashing on your palate, skip it! My plate was VERY hot, but the cheese on my enchilada was barely melted and the innerds were luke warm. My sons enchilada was the same.
I was really hoping for this to be my new go to place, but it was a miss.

This restaurant just opened a few weeks ago so we thought we would go and give it a try.  What a mistake!  We sat at a table in the bar area. Nice atmosphere and looked pleasing. We ordered 2 beers on tap that were very cold and really hit the spot on a 100 degree day.  The waiter brought us chips and salsa. We tried them and was ok except the salsa had no flavor except tomatoes. I asked the waiter for some spicy salsa for the chips and he said that is the only one they have. Really?  A mexican food restaurant with only one salsa? ok?  We ordered our meals and they came out in about 4 minutes. 4 minutes from oder to delivery? This is not fresh food. Mrs ordered the Oroz Con Pollo (chicken and rice) and I ordered the Wet Villa burrito that has shredded beef, rice, beans and cheese covered in a red sauce. When the meal were deliverd they appeared to look good except my wifes meal looked like mushroom soup was poured over it with some melted cheese that had already hardened. It not just looked like mushroom soup, it tasted like it. It was so bland and tasteless, this is NOT Mexican!   The beans tasted like paste and had no taste. How do you mess up beans?   My burrito was also bland. The beef was very tender and no fat, but also no flavor. The red sauce on top of the burrito tasted a little like a very mild tomato sauce with a little chili powder in it.  Needless to say this was a total waste of $50!   We didnt even finish our meals. We left and went to the burger place near Pancho Villas and was great!  We will not be back!

the beer glass was chilled buy the beer was warm...when we told management they did nothing about it.  The service seemed to be better than other reviews listed the last week since opening.  I had the camarones puerto varta...it was OK sort of bland.  The prices were more expensive than other mexican places here in Victor Valley and not a better quality...Maybe I will go back on the weekend when they have the live music

Margaritas were super expensive just for house margarita it was about ten dollars! Not worth ten dollars that's for sure. Food was decent. The chips and salsa were the best part by far though! Also had some guacamole, which was okay but didn't have much flavor. Service was slow and it seems like the people that work there have never worked in a restaurant before because the few we came into contact with we're awkward and it felt like they had no idea how to go about their job. They are a new restaurant so they may just new some time to get on their feet but it would have benefited the place to have a training or something before opening so the servers were familiar with food that's on the menu and drinks, our server was clueless and didn't have an answer for any o the questions we asked. May go back when it isn't in the grand opening super hectic stage to see if service is better.

Pretty poor experience. Tried to stay positive but the evening got worse the longer we stayed. Party of 9. Waiter almost spilled my drink on me to start..only 4 of the plates were brought out...waited 5 or so minutes before we asked about the others. Waited another 10 mins before they brought out another 4...still missing one. Almost 10 minutes after that I got my plate...everyone was already finished eating by this time..oh well..waiter came over to ask of we were done with the salsa plates because they were short and needed them for another table. No one here really cares about service. Food is pretty good though. Fajita supreme=YUM

Horrible service! We waited about forty minutes for the waiter to just take our order. Had about five baskets of chips and four refills of soda before the food came. We waited an hour for our food, it was cold, but we were so hungry we still ate it all. The food is overpriced. The waiter even told us the food sucked after he served us. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends and I will not be going back ever again!

Not a strong grand opening. Waiters asking customers to see the menu, we waited 20 minutes for a soda, and the food was mediocre. The albondigas soup was basically a bowl of oil, the taquitos were burnt to a crisp, and my side of guacamole never came. They may need some time to get on their feet, but I won't be back to find out. The prices are way too high for the quality. I ended up very sick to my stomach after this meal

Horrible service, after an hour and a half we saw our waitress twice and once we received our appetizer it was cold and congealed. Never going back.  They were not very busy at all, so no real excuse for the wait.
