Funny thing about the fountain drinks, people either love them or hate them. In my opinion, there must be something funky about the hundred year-old pipes in the downtown square that make every beverage here taste terrible. I have tried coke without ice and hot tea, but all the drinks are gross. Go for beer or bottled water.
as for the food, certainly not the best Chinese, but I'm not too familiar with other ethnic offerings in rural NE Texas. The prices are great, the service is outstanding, and they are very willing to modify dishes to suit your taste. Takeout service is efficient and they always a positive experience!
Best egg drop soup & fried rice ever. Cheap prices, too. They also have the best tasting fountain Coke around, not sure what's in it, or how/why it tastes so good, but it does; I get a coke every time.
Nice waiters, I've seen the same staff/owners there for 10 years, but very little fluency in English at this joint, so go in with an open mind and patience.
Also, you'll go through bowls of the little fried chip things that they give you. Again, not sure what they do to 'em, but man oh man, they are good. I put a handful in my egg drop soup every time. Delish.
As an SMU'er, I'll always be partial to Betty's Best Chinese in Dallas, but, Panda is the best of the best considering it's small-town location, and I highly recommend it on Sundays to any hungover TAMU-C kids.
Good little Chinese restaurant, no buffet though, which is good to me but thought you might want to know. Food is good, not the the best. The service is good the Honey Walnut Shrimp is my favorite. They won't bring you chopsticks unless you ask, but then again this is a Chinese restaurant in a small town in TX. Oh and the hot jasmine tea is nice.
Review Source:Friendly staff.
they are the ONLY chinese restaurant there, be honest, if this quality in dallas , i may give 3 star, but since they are the only, and I go there everytime I am in commerce. They deserve 4 star in this town.
for this place, not only chinese food, but also they serve full bar. it was nice when I had dinner with my fried Sadra with a glass of red wine there.
I really want to recommend some dishes, but I REMENBER the chinese name of those instead of english. Â Will update those names next time I visit commerce again.
