Food is pretty good. Service is awful, especially at the bar! I don't know if it is because I am a female and all the bartenders are females and want to just chat with the men. I've been to the bar a bunch of times and all of the bartenders ignore you. They are too busy striking up conversations with people they knew, other bartenders, or making sure they look pretty. I don't like how I get treated when I go there. Not impressed. Go somewhere else where the bartenders will notice that you have had an empty drink for over 15 minutes!

I was seated downstairs in the area they refer to as "quieter". Yes, it was quiet. One other family in there around 7pm, prime dinner time. That should have been the tip off.

Paper placemats and table coverings...why...

Chicken nachos were okay, I've had better but it is pretty hard to mess up nachos. I got a chicken Caesar salad for my main course...again, ok but pretty hard to mess up.

The other person I was dining with ordered a salad with butternut squash raviolis or something. It was topped with greasy strands of sweet potato that tasted like oil. Salad was returned uneaten and taken off the bill. I was left to share my meal and get out as fast as possible!

I gave 2 stars because the service was great! We had a young guy as a server and he was super attentive and friendly.

This seems like a place for locals to get together and have a drink or two...I have been to the bar before and ordered a rum and coke. They must have been out of rum because I was charged almost $8 for a big cup of ice and coke.

Go anywhere else!!

Have done lunch and dinners here. lunch service is slllloooooowww due to lack of waitstaff. Also food is delivered as ready, so its quite common to have at least one person not served til everyone else is done.

This place has some great dishes but if one cant enjoy them then its a loss..

The Pasta Loft has delicious food, friendly staff, and great bands. It's a hidden gem in Hampstead!

Good for sandwiches. we like to sit at the bar, but it's the most ackward bar I've ever seen. kind of a strange shape with 4 seperate seating areas, all of which have too many stools and are squeezed in. Place could use a good cleaning too, which is kind of a turn off as you look at the TV and the dust is clinging to everything. Bartenders are all good, and the sandwiches are quite good.

We went to the Pasta Loft for the 1st time and really, once was enough.

My husband got the combo which had veal parm, chicken parm, sausage, lasagna and a golf ball size meatball. The veal and chicken were fried (and overfried to boot), the sausage was also deep fried and hard as a rock. I think the lasagna was ok but it looked like it was heated in a microwave. The edges were dried out and icky. He ended up leaving the sausage and the spaghetti behind.

I got ziti alfredo with grilled chicken. It wasn't bad, but there was nothing memorable about it. I don't think the sauce was homemade. If it was, that's disappointing. I don't think anything was 'homemade", except for the bread. That did look homemade and it was pretty good.

After such a disappointing meal, we opted not to have dessert, although there were several desserts in the case that looked like they'd be delicious but at almost $7 each, it wasn't worth the risk.

The entree prices at Pasta Loft are VERY MUCH unjustified, especially for the quality (or lack thereof) of the food.

The server seemed pretty disinterested in what she was doing. It was pretty tough to get her attention even though the servers don't even SERVE the food. They have runners for that. All the server does is take the order. She didn't offer any suggestions, she didn't tell us about specials...nothing. They also REALLY need to give some attention to their menus. Both of ours were dirty. Pieces of food stuck to the plastic covering the pages inside, crumbs in between the binding, stained pages. It was just not good. My iced tea cup had little green leaves floating in it and stuck to the outside of the cup as well.

After we ate here, I asked several friends on FB if they had been there and what they thought about it and pretty much across the board, the answer was: "go for the appetizers and cocktails, not for the entrees." The appetizer prices look pretty average but then again, if the entree's don't taste homemade and the veal and chicken look like pre-formed, frozen pieces, why would the appetizers be any different? I will say that although we didn't have any, people were ordering pizzas a lot and they looked decent.

It's not often that I feel the need to actually steer people away from a place but I definitely would tell people not to go t Pasta Loft. For us, it's was a "one and done" experience. I'm very confused by some of the glowing reviews of this restaurant, to be honest. We won't be going back.

Love this place! My husband and I always get the filet special with lobster bernaise. Very well priced and it is and always delish. We love the high energy of the bar area, and would never sit anywhere else!

Everytime I have been there the food has been amazing. Crab cakes were great and I would definitely recommend the lobster mac and cheese.

Just had the chicken carbonara. This may have been the best chicken dish I've ever had! I eat a lot of chicken and therefore eat a lot of chicken at restaurants. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by how incredible it was.

We've eaten there on a few occasions and have always found the food to be really good. Portions are huge.

I only gave 4 stars because the place really needs some sprucing up. Some fresh paint, lose the paper table "cloths", dust once in a while. The bathrooms are extremely dingey. It needs a facelift.

I like it here. The pomegranate martinis are yummy and they have the Angry Orchard cider that I love. I like the cozy atmosphere and loved the little two man 90s music band they had the night I went. It was hard to find parking but I guess they're busy for a reason! The food was pretty good. I wasn't totally wowed, but I definitely want to go back to try something else. Especially if the music will be the same :)

When I moved up to this area, I really thought I was giving up good cuisine, but I was slightly surprised to find out the amount of really good restaurants in this area. The Pasta Loft is one of them. One thing I love, is there menu. They have a lot of dishes to choose from. I have yet to try the pizza, but I plan to the next time I visit due to all the great reviews on here. My husband and I tried quite a few dishes here...Chicken Marsala (good, not great...could use a bit more seasoning), Lobster Stuffed shells (great), Swordfish (also great), and the Chicken Saltimbocca (good). Oh, also have to satisy my sweet tooth everytime I go out and tried the Chocolate Lava cake and the Red Velvet cake, and this was delicious. One tip for the Red Velvet...do not drizzl rasberry sauce on the cake...the taste is off.

A couple issues I had here...a friend ordered the Harvest Spinach salad, and it came out missing two main ingredients: goat cheese and Fuji apples. The waitress went back to add the items, and apologized. Another big issue I have is with the Riesling. I have ordered this a few times, and every time I order it is served room temperature. This should be chilled!

I prefer the bar area, as I enjoy the upbeat atmosphere, but the dining area is good for families. And, portions are huge! Good value for the money spent.

Haven't checked out any of the bands, but plan to soon.

Food overall was good: Buffalo wings had a great flavor and were very meaty. My husband had the short ribs which we good. I had the pizza based on some reviews I read but it was not good. Too doughy and not very hot when I received it. I would go back to try other entrees. There was only one waitress in the restaurant section and it was busy so she seem overwhelmed which lead to slow service.

They actually have stepped up their game and have quite a good selection of microbrews on tap.. plus plus plus!! I like a lot of their food, although you probably need to be rich to eat here... the prices could be better (for food and drinks). There's one odd thing about this place, however.... no matter when I go here, as soon as I walk in , I feel a woozy stomach feeling that I can't pinpoint.. its rather odd.

I won't go back and eat in the tavern part again, but would eat in the lower dining room. If I go there again and there are no seats in the diving room, I will leave. We had the "experience" of being seated in the tavern and the noise level was so loud in there that we couldn't have a family conversation.
I would recommend the owner try some soundproofing or something? But, that being said, we have eaten in the dining room many times and we all enjoy the atmosphere and meals. The same evening the noise level was too much for us, we were asked to move, partway through out dinner, to another table to accommodate a larger crowd. It didn't sit well with me as that brought even MORE noise into a room that was deafening already.
http://www.acoustics.com…
Just looked this up on line... kinda funny but true "do you want earplugs with your soup" is the lead on this web site. Good point. You can do some things to reduce the level of noise. Wood floors and low ceilings and a noisy bunch of drinking patrons... oh well. Will be back, but again will not eat in that noisy area ever again. Would prefer to go home and heat up leftovers instead of paying $18 - 20 for a meal and not hear people in my party. : (

This is our hangout place. The pizza is the best in the area.Thank you Cory. I also love their scallop salad. The staff is wonderful, especially Danielle and Kristen. I hope their cute hostess, Cara, comes back soon from college. This place is AWESOME!

This is one of our favorite restaurants! We have brought large parties (12+) here and service was just as great as when it is just the 2 of us. My hubby LOVES the prime rib and I always have a hard time choosing between the lobster stuffed shells and the pan seared scallops. All are over the top delicious and incredibley reasonable. The fresh baked bread and garlic oil with fresh roasted spreadable garlic cloves is second to none. We only had one bad experience (timing) and they more than made up for it. You can always count on fast friendly service and truely great food, Wish they had 6 stars!

My husband and I went there 10-30-2010 and I ordered a burger med rare and his was a Loft burger med rare, His came out very well done, mine was tasty. the bartenderette asked us how was everything as she served us our food.. duh dont know yet.... We asked for our tab 3 times as the couple next to us also did. she was more concered with the young men at the bar than us.

This is kind of a neighborhood hang out. The staff is great and the food isn't too bad. It's nice to go grab a drink and some food casually. You can dress up or dress down and still fit in either way. They have live music too which I've liked.

Recently, my husband and I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night about 6:30. This place was hopping! Ate in the tavern last time and had a great meal. This time there was not one seat open in the bar section so we opted to eat in the lower dining room. AWESOME!!!
Everything was perfect from the courteous waitress and hostess to the amazing food, quality and prices. The atmosphere in the dining room has a kind of country feel with exposed wood beams and linen tablecloths and candlelight adorn each table. Much quieter than the tavern upstairs which offers live entertainment (band) every Saturday night about 9:00 pm. Very fun! The dining room is more family friendly but every family with children this night had very well behaved children, so not a disturbance for those who want a more quiet dinner like my husband and myself.
Joe had the Chicken Parmesan and I had the Fruitti de Mare which came with 1/2 a lobster in shell(my only complaint - somewhat messy in a red sauce), 5 large shrimp, 5 large scallops, mussels and plenty of calamari (not at all chewy) in a perfect lightly spicy marinara sauce. Both meals came with a wonderful salad (large for a side) and house made dressings (Joe had bleu cheese with chunks so big,he had to break it up and not too strong), mine a creamy parmesan peppercorn to die for. The bread was hot and delicious with roasted garlic oil served on the side! Yum.
Joe had 2 bud light bottles and I had 1 glass of Bogle merlot (generous glass) and the whole bill came to $48 before tax and tip! There was so much food left over that we each had another huge meal the next day for dinner. Can't wait to go back and try their brick-oven pizza! Looked and smelled great! Get there early on a Friday or Saturday night because by the time we left at 8:15ish, there was a wait. Don't know if they have call ahead seating, but would be a good idea.
Last note is that they have a wide variety of food from fresh fish, chicken, steaks and tips which are all served with a side salad and choice of pasta, fries, or baked potato. They also offer a lighter fare menu where everything is only $12.95. Can't wait to go back. Great meal and value and most important-QUALITY!

Ate here recently as part of a birthday celebration for a family member. There was a minor issue with the time we arrived and the menu prices changing from lunch to dinner, but I wasn't paying, so who cares, right??

No, seriously, I enjoyed this place. We hit up the '.25 cents a wing' appetizer special which gave us all plenty of wings to start with. (And take home; The waitress told us you aren't usually allowed to take wings home, but she was bending the rules for us. Weird. Why wouldn't you be 'allowed' to take something you paid for??)

Between the wings, salad, and bread, I felt like I'd already finished dinner. But hold on! Here comes the main course!

Now, I know its the 'Pasta Loft', but I am a bachelor and pasta is something I have at least twice a week as it is. I decided to go with the prime rib sandwich and steak fries. It was a good choice.

They were also running a special on lobster, but I tend to consider lobster to be basically a giant insect that lives in water. In fact, the night before, I'd seen a picture of a giant underwater pillbug that had been pulled from the Colorado River. There isn't enough butter in the world to get me to eat that.

The waitress was very nice and service was great. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, thanks to a group of people shouting at the damn TV because a football game was on, but that happens everywhere; What can you do, right??

Overall, great food and a good time. I'll go back again, someday.

This is by far our weekly hangout. The pizza is top notch. Better than Bertucci's I feel. The prices are great and atmosphere matches the prices. The staff is extremely friendly to both us and our 17 month old son. They have a wonderfully priced pizza buffet during the day and live music throughout the week at nights. We eat in the Bar area as the look of the old bricks and wood are nice. We almost never eat in the dining area so I can't offer much of a review there. But we have been going here and will continue to go for a long time. Great place!
They have also introduced a new Frugal Fare menu which the prices are not only awesome, the meals are outstanding! My favorite is the short ribs. I highly recommend it.

Had lunch from the Pasta Loft today. Everything was good & fresh, though the order wasn't ready when it was supposed to be. A good lunch spot if the boss isn't too concerned with how long it takes.

Dennis and I decided to come here after reading Ian's review. It was Friday evening and I called a head to see when the music started and after 15 rings , someone finally picked up and said after 8:30.
We get there at 8:30 and the bar area where the 1 man guitar player was completely full to capacity. We had to eat in the dining room down the hall which only had a few tables occupied. We could still hear the music, too bad they didn't shut off the CD that was playing.
Service was good. Fast drinks and bread and oil delivered. I choose the mussels w./ shallots and wine which were big, meaty, and chewy. The broth had great flavor. Dennis had chips & salsa. I thought the chips where kind of stale. I had 2 Bass on draught. $4.00 each.
For dinner, I had the chicken picatta on spaghetti. The sauce was light, not too much lemon and TONZ of capers. A decent dish but not memorable.
Dennis had chicken and broccoli which he said was kind of bland. No white alfreado sauce in it? Perhaps a different recipe?
An interesting thing happened while we were there.
This very drunk straight couple were sitting a few tables away and started getting loud. She yelled at him about "if he wanted a bitch, she will be a bitch" and got up and left. He then told us that he knew we were a gay couple and that he was "cool" with it. That is brother was gay, etc, etc. and also started being just way too friendly and creepy. He then walked over and got closer, wanting to shake our hands, put his hands on my shoulder.
I pegged this guy as a closet case and then the waitress showed up with his coat and thank god strongly encouraged him to leave.
Totally friggin creep-out.
Over all the dinner was just ok. Our bill came to $ 60.00. w/o tip.
They do have a real brick oven wood flame pizza oven so I want to go back to check that part out and eat in the pub area.
On a final note, it was cold nasty night out, rain and freezing rain. They have this HUGE big ass fireplace in the pub which was not lite.
I just do not get it.

Located in East Hampstead, the Pasta Loft serves solid good Italian American fare and brick oven pizza at moderate prices in a casual setting. The restaurant has two areas, the Brick House Tavern in the front and the main dining rooms in the back.

The Brick House Tavern has a loud and busy atmosphere. There's table seating around the bar, TVs, digital jukebox, and the open brick oven pizza kitchen (you can watch them make pizzas). Drink specials are offered here, as well as live entertainment on some nights. On Tuesdays, it's Hoot Night (7PM-10PM) when it's open mic & bring your own acoustic guitar and $2 beers.

The main dining area is a good place to enjoy a nice relaxing meal without the craziness in the tavern. Each table has red linen table cloth covered a brown paper sheet cover and candlelight. Kids can ask for crayons and doodle right on the brown paper, similar to Romano's Macaroni Grill.

As for the food, a sampling of the menu is available online at http://www.pastaloft.com The menus on the website seem outdated with variations in prices and more items offered on the current menu. They serve up not just the typical Italian pasta dishes, pizzas & calzones, but also steaks, seafood, chicken, prime rib, salads, soups, burgers, appetizers, children's menu, daily specials, and desserts. All desserts are $5.00 including Choc'late Lovin' Spoon Cake, Cheesecake, Peanut Butter Pie, Tiramisu, Brownie Sundae, Oreo Cookie Bash, [Choc Lava Cake, Toll House Cookie Pie, Caramel Apple Granny, & Pecan Pie]. ----[served with vanilla ice cream]

The dinner portions here are generous, reflected in the moderate prices ranging from $9.95 to $22.95. Dinner entrees include salad, choice of pasta and bread. I believe the Milford Oval location also offers soup with dinner entrees, a little more bang over there. There is also a $3.00 plate charge on shared meals.

The brick oven pizzas are pretty good here with my favorite being the Feasta (hot capicola, sweet sausage, pepperoni, & spicy meatballs, chunky pizza sauce and mozzarella).

The basket of hot crusty bread is served with butter and olive oil with fresh garlic cloves for dipping.

The dinner salad has a plate of the typical iceberg lettuce, mixed greens, cherry tomato, onions, mushrooms, croutons, and dressing.

The Fettuccine Alfredo is very good which has a smooth creamy cheese taste.

My dinner favorite is the Pasta Loft's Combo ($18.95) which offers a sampling of traditional Italian food including lasagna, real veal parmesan, chicken parmesan, meatball, & sausage topped with a very hearty and rich meat sauce and served with a side of pasta (spaghetti, ziti, linguine or bowtie) with sauce.

On my last recent visit in the dining room, the service was courteous and very attentive with refills on drinks (free soda refills), more bread & oil offered, and timely delivery of food.

HOURS: Open daily at 11:30 AM until 8:30 PM (Sun-Mon), 9:00 PM (Tues-Wed), and 9:30 PM (Thurs-Sat). The dining room is closed on Mondays, but the tavern is open!

LOCATION: Please note that there are two Main Streets in the Town of Hampstead. Pasta Loft is located at 220 East Main Street (NH 121A), just south of NH 111 in East Hampstead, 03826 and NOT at 220 Main Street (NH 121) in Hampstead, 03841 which is the Post Office building on the west side of town.
