Seems like this place has been here forever, and it doesn't change, for better and for worse. Food is nearly better than average pub grub. The beef tips and other featured entrees are more expensive than they should be. If you like to drink at a bar, and like to drink a lot, this is a good place for you. It's family friendly on the side of the dining room where the bar isn't it. Service is friendly but horribly slow. Consistently. Honestly, I'm not much of a fan but you can usually get in without a wait, or not a long one, and if you stick to the burgers and sandwich fare you can get out for a reasonable price but not in a reasonable amount of time.
Review Source:Wow, for a pub this place has great food. We went back a second time with the kids to be sure. Both visits were super. The first time we sat in the dining area and the second time in the pub area. The pub has games going on that make it feel like a fun place. The food is the reason to be there though. We've ordered 7 different entree's, 3 different appetizers and a soup. Every single thing has been very good. We left nothing behind except on the first visit my wife only ate about a third of her turkey club and we had that the next day for lunch. It was truly huge. Highly recommend. We visit the area every few weeks during the summer now and I'm sure we'll be back many times.
Review Source:This place was busy so I'll take that into consideration. The server was slooooow and forgetful. We sat for 20 mins with no drinks. The food was excellent. I had beef tenderloin which was smothered in mushroom and brown gravy. My wife had Mac and cheese with grilled chicken, just fantastic pub food.
Review Source:I had a wrap up there last summer that... I don't remember what kind it was, but I know it was the best damn thing I've ever tasted (edit: its the Shaker Turkey Wrap!). The drinks were incredible, and the dessert was to die for. Our server was so attentive and had a great sense of humor... I really can't wait to go back!
Review Source:The Gilford community truly has a gem here. Â Every time I visit Patrick's, I am always pleased with the fine service, excellent food, and great choices of beer they have to offer. Â I have never been disappointed with my experience. Â Get there on the right night and be entertained by live music, comedy, and a variety of other activities, the owners are continually coming up with new ways of entertaining their guests. Â Often there entertainment involves some sort of fund raiser for their community. Â It does not get much better than this!
Review Source:I had the Turkey Club and it was the best I EVER had anywhere. The service was awesome, got a mixed drink, called coconut something ....was like an adult chocolate milk and they definitely don't hold out on the alcohol part.my mom got the prime rib sandwich and she was in heaven when she ate this.we were so stuffed had to take some of it back to the house we were staying at and had it for dinner.great prices and awesome food.
Review Source:Wow what a disappointment. We came here with my husband's family for an early dinner after a day at Gunstock, so needless to say we were hungry. We waited for about an hour for our table but were able to distract ourselves by browsing the liquor store a few doors down. Service was good, but unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. We had some decent nachos to start. My husband and I decided to share a bison burger and salad, both of which were not great, especially the burger, which we found small, skinny and tasteless. Overall, wouldn't recommend this place. While I am not local to the area, I could tell there were plenty of better options in the area.
Review Source:My hubby and I were up here on a break from NYC life leaf peaking when we ran across Patrick's. Â I love eating at local places when I travel and Patrick's is no exception. Â This place was upbeat and friendly and warm...which was appreciated. Â Everything we tried we loved and it was just nice to be surrounded by regulars and travelers alike. Â If you are in the area this is a must-do!
Review Source:Like a screaming baby being silenced by a pacifier, this place makes me happy.
Like a pair of completely unfashionable clogs, this place makes me comfortable.
Like a Scottish man not wearing underwear, this place always surprises me.
I am happy for the decent food, chowder and large bar area. Â I am comfortable because it is laid back, family oriented and a spacious dining area. Â I am surprised because this is a pretty large pub for the area and they actually have weekly events such as Trivia and live music.
As a traveler, I'm usually eating at the bar and have different expectations than typical diners. Patricks does the "Irish Pub theme" well. For an off season Wednesday night the place was jumping with a mix of families, skiers, and young adults and the staff handled the crowd well-- no unnecessary waits. The DJ didn't overpower the place and played an eclectic mix. Later, he ran a musical bingo game that ended up being a lot of fun and really developed the camaraderie in the bar.
Pretty good beer selection with a new chilled glass each round. Menu was pretty extensive and there was a nice selection of specials. I was in a burger mood and opted for the Belknap Burger (normal American type burger) Charbroiled nicely and cooked accurate, lettuce, tomato and onion all fresh chilled and crispy. I was very satisfied with the burger. Fries, I'd give a 7 of 10. Not the best I had but decent. Thinner cut and cooked just crispy. . nice!
I'll definitely be back, next time I'm in the area. Patrick's exceeded what I have come to expect from having dinner on the road.
Boring, bland and overpriced. This place is opened year round and this is probably why there are so many people there. In addition, it is always busy there because there are really no near by restaurants. Nonetheless, first time I went there for lunch with my friend. The sandwich was OKAY. But for $8... my hot brown sandwich looked like the portion was made for a toddler. It was in a tiny little oval ramekin. It was just a sandwich... nothing more. The second time I came, it was during bike week. My bad first of all, it was crowded, there was a wait, tons of bikers, loud etc. Oh well, I ordered a turkey reuben, my friend a stir fry with chicken. The reuben was okay. Nothing amazing, the fries were luke warm... My friends stir fry with no meat was 10.95 or so, to add chicken was $3-5 bucks. Are you kidding me? So she paid $15 bucks for a (small) chicken stir fry that had virtually no chicken, small pieces of veggies and predominately rice?
I don't see why this place is always packed. Go to Sawyer's across the street, hell, drive down to Weirs Beach, or go to Laconia, there are a bunch of restaurants there too.
Patricks is the only restaurant for miles. Â Thus, it is always crowded during the busy summey-season. Â And when I say crowded, I mean it! I have gone there when the wait is over one hour, and surprisingly enough, people actually wait!
For a "pub", the menu has TONS of options. Â I'd be surprise if someone couldn't find something to match their personal tastes. Â They have it all- seafood, burgers, pasta dishes (which are surprisingly good), awesome salads (Southwestern is my fav item on the menu), A+ wraps, and everything is decent!
I'd say this is a more family oriented restaurant before 9PM. Around 10-11, the bar becomes PACKED, and theres no room to move on live music nights. The patio was recently renovated about 2-3 years ago, and comes equipped with shade and fans- I love sitting up there!
Just make sure you call ahead before arriving or else you may be waiting for quite some time (even on a tuesday)! And don't be alarmed with the mass amounts bikers!
3 at best. The setting is great and there is a good atmosphere in the main bar but the food it not good, apart from the chowder.
The salads were limp and tasteless. Maybe we should have picked differently.
On top of that, sitting on the terrace our server seemed more interested in what was going on outside instead of making sure the plate she was hanging us landed on the table!
Came by last weekend and stayed by the lake. There aren't many options for restaurants nearby, but the food was good. I wouldn't say it was amazing or even the food was cheap, but I was overall satisfied.
1) Excellent Combo Appetizers (Hummus, Artichoke Dip, Some other Fried Stuff)
2) NO LEMONADE. How do you not have lemonade with fried food/burgers during the 4th of July!!
3) I had a lobster roll and side salad. The lobster were didn't have too much mayo, and came with lots and lots of lobster. This was amazing, but I heard they did have an award winning Seafood Chowder.
4) We had a pretty large table of 8, with complicated orders, therefore I give the poor waitress credit for putting up with us.
5) Things I didn't eat, but heard it was good: Shrimp/Scallop Pasta, Blue Cheeseburger, Anything Seafood, and Mac n Cheese
6) I saw the stir-fry, and I am Chinese. I wouldn't get a stir-fry here. The End.
In addition, they also had live music with a medium size pub seen. All and all, I won't make a special trip, but it does the trick.
Good food at reasonable prices. Â If you're not worried about calories the Cheeseburger Club Sub is fantastic. Â Their seafood chowder has won awards for best chowder in the Lakes Region for many years running - and I can see why. Â Waitstaff has always been friendly and knowledgeable when I've been there. Â The second floor outdoor (with roof overhead) seating offers a beautiful view of the mountains - and is a very popular spot in the summer months. Â And Lake Winnipesaukee is only seconds away!
