Wow, what a find this place is. Paul's isn't upscale gourmet food by any means, but it is very good down home comfort food. The place is a converted house with an addition. It's clean and the service is friendly and attentive. The menu is a nice size with daily specials and hugh portions. I saw several members of our group who had 2 plates, one was for the entree and the other was just for the sides. Crazy huh? I'll go back here anytime.
Review Source:My girlfriend and I found this restaurant through a recommendation from our tour guide ( an expedition on the Peace River). Â The restaurant is housed in a former residence just off of Main Street. Â We were greeted very warmly upon entering. Â The place is very clean and informal. Â The cuisine is Southern U.S. Â We started with the fried pickles and wings. Â Soup (lentil) was served from a clean communal kettle. Â The wings were fried with a nice crispy batter. Â The pickles tasted awesome. Â We both ordered the chicken fried steak. Â The chicken fried steak with white gravy was awesome! Â Great layers of fried goodness wrapped around meat... The mashed potatoes that accompanied the steak were homemade and tasty. Â The waitress who served us was very polite and quick with service. Â The only downside is that beer is not served, Â hence a star was taken off. Â That meal would have been even better with a cold beer! Â Â If you are in the area give them a visit. Â Did I mention that the prices were extremely reasonable.
Review Source:My parents recommended this place for good down home cooking, but I still didn't know to expect when we pulled into this converted house. I should've expected butter - lots of it. And that ain't always a bad thing.
I had a ribeye (10oz, I think) with fried shrimp for $13 or so. It came with soup, salad and generous portions of sides. The fried shrimp was a little too bready and greasy for my liking, but everything else
