This cafe is perfect for a B&B retreat. It is all local food, great ice cream and good coffee. The staff is nice and the food is great. I had the Chicken Pot Pie and it was one of the best I've had. The owner's mom makes then every morning! I live in minneapolis and this place is a gem in a gem of a city!

Locally sourced food that is delicious and filling. The decor is adorable - not many places can pull off a bike motif successfully.

All of the food is delicious. I got the vegan loaded potato with a black bean burger - yum yum yum. My bf got the turkey avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was an eating competition to see who could eat more of the fries. There was no discernible winner.

Then we ended the meal with apple crisp a la mode. It was perfection on a dish.

Good selection of beer and good burgers but just try to get a rare burger. The waitress apparently cannot promise and did not deliver. Service great. Ambience sort of a retro but real 50's diner sort of. The ice cream served up front for passers-by is certainly delicious.

Food was homemade & locally sourced.  Service was friendly.  We had Auntie A's Delite salad (Chicken, apples, blue cheese, etc.), shiitake & onion melt , grilled tilapia tacos, & Norwegian meatballs.  All were good.

Have been here several times.  Always very good.  Coconut pie is always a must.  Celebrated with pie and coffee in between theatre and dinner.  Our server, was excellent.  Didn't sing happy birthday to me but did somewhat of a birthday dance.  Will definitely go back hoping to be served by her again.

Wow.  Just when you are excited to find an old school diner.  It gets even better. Old school diner + menu of locally grown/raised/made food = Amazeballs.

Service is fast, friendly.  Nice open space with your typical 50's diner decor.

You want a BLT? Sure, have a BLT made with fresh thick cut bacon from a local farm, placed lovingly between two slices of the best wheat bread I have ever had.  And they act all nonchalant about it.  The home sliced french fries were excellent as well.

My boyfriend got the turkey club, he said the turkey was exceptional, and he literally talked about it for days afterwards.  He got the mashed potatoes and gravy which were also very good.

We were excited to see they offered an array of Spring Grove Sodas (which we first met at the MN State Fair this summer).  They must be manufactured nearby because we noticed most shops in Lanesboro sold Spring Grove Sodas.

They also offer a bison burger which was very good (yes we ate there twice in two days).  Yummy grilled cheese too!

And for you Madison kids, they have Chocolate Shoppe ice cream!!

Seriously, look at the menu.  You will be impressed and drooling.

Great food! Too many times you go to a small town diner and get sketchy, generic food, so finding a place that sources from local farms and suppliers was a very pleasant surprise. The cheese curds were fresh, and the burgers tasty and juicy.

The pecan pie was easily the best I've ever had; flaky crust, sweet and rich. I had brought it back to my B&B, so I was eating it at room temp, so I can only imagine how incredible it would be warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Good local food.  I'm visiting for a few weeks in the winter, so it isn't open during the week.  I went here for lunch about a month ago and was happy to see a lot of local offerings, including grass-fed beef and local ice cream.  I'll definitely be heading back soon, and will update my review again once that happens.

Was given rave reviews by a few people from Preston, MN. Popped in for a late lunch.

Service was so-so. Friendly but not really top of her class in organizational skills. I couldn't tell if she was the only server or just the most hectic employee. There was a gaggle of people behind the kitchen divider without anything resembling a "cook" on them.

I ordered the special, Chicken Sandwich with fries & drink for $6.99. The rest of the table ordered fried cheese curds, Great Balls of Fire burger, and The Duke burger.

Cheese curds were good, but a tad over done in the grease department. My companions thoroughly enjoyed their burgers. My bite of the GBF burger was smokey and hott--very nice! My bite of the Duke was juicy and smothered in sub-par chili. The Chicken Sandwich was actually 2 chicken fingers on a wheat bun with fresh lettuce and 1 slice Roma tomato. The chicken was dry and coated in batter that smelled of fish....did someone forget to clean the fryer since Friday night "all you can eat fish"?? Not appetizing. Fries were a good representation of real potato fries and plentiful!

Sadly we went through our whole meal without a refill. We had to track down our bill through 3 other people.

The cute coffee bar near the door was where you pd for your bill--it was staffed with a pleasant young girl and amazing aromas of fresh coffee beans! I think I'll come back to sample the caffeine.

We had a great experience here- wonderful burgers and delicious banana cream pie.  The server couldn't serve our beer (not 18) and didn't communicate that to anyone, so we waited a long time for it. Otherwise - thumbs up!

Came back for lunch and dinner on this visit. Epic great burgers and etc. Fun place with small children, lots to look at and they didn't freak when my 3 year old wrote the entire alphabet on the table.

My boyfriend and I were on a road trip and searching for breakfast when we came across Pedal Pushers. Couldn't be more thrilled to find such a place, and accidentally at that. The cafe serves all organic and seasonal produce, as well as local dairy products, cage free eggs, and pasture-raised pork and beef. We were really happy with our meal, and more so knowing that this is the kind of establishment that supports local farms and businesses.

I only subtracted a star for service. The server got my order wrong, but brought me the plate of the (wrong) food anyhow to see if I would like to eat it instead. I know pancakes and french toast are pretty similar, but not when you're expecting their special flaxseed pancakes!

Was surprisingly cheap as well. Usually, places like this that offer only local and organic products are pretty hard on the wallet. Not so in this case.

Wasn't sure what to expect when I walked through the door for dinner.  One of THE best gourmet-ish burgers...EVER!  How's that for exceeding expectations?  About time, I say :)

My burger, Great Balls of Fire, arrived on a perfectly toasted wheat bun, jalapenos and a delish chipotle mayo, accompanied by homemade coleslaw.  My dinner mate thoroughly enjoyed the Good Golly Miss Molly, also perfectly toasted bun, yummy carmelized onions, mushrooms and brie cheese.  The roasted red potatoes were a nice option to regular french fries. I really like that you can get any of these "burgers" with hamburger, veggie burger or a chicken breast.

    The strawberry malt, also outstanding!

If you've read any of my previous reviews, you know I'm big on the sustainable/local thing and these folks are on that bandwagon too.  And service was friendly and attentive.  Pleasantly surprised with a meal under $23 including tax!
