Yeah, I know it's just a local family place but the Prime Rib is outstanding....only thing I've ever eaten here. Â Wife likes the Walleye.
Service is friendly and quick....patrons always seem friendly and we chat with strangers there. Â This is a destination eatery for us on road trips from Seattle. Â Friday night is Prime Rib special night.
Save the money you would have had to tip for the mediocre service and walk across the street to the Safeway where you can buy the same stale white rolls and the same frozen chicken patties used to make the same flavorless chicken sandwich they serve here. Terrible food, terrible decore. Did I mention it was terrible?
Review Source:We went to visit Grand Coulee Dam, and were hungry after the 4 hour drive. Our choice of dining was very slim and Yelp (nice I'm the 10th review of this place) did not have much reviews of lots of establishments around here. I went on a whim and chose Pepper Jack for our family. Woo! What a great choice. It's an old joint but you could feel the history the place has, and I actually enjoyed seeing the old movie posters decorated on top of the restaurant. Bonus seeing a Humphrey Bogart movie poster, as I'm a big fan.
Our server (I believe her name was Kourtney) was very attentive, I think she was the only one working at that time, and it started to get busy but she was calm under pressure. I do not remember our glasses of water ever reaching empty, and our table was fully stocked of things patrons normally need, napkins!
I ordered Wahoo Fish, which their menu claims will be the best fish i'll ever have. You know what, it's up there! It was really good, and wow for 12 oz is plenty for a hungry person who just drove 4 hours. Lol. Whisked it with some lemon, and I went to town!
I'm not sure if I'd ever go back to Grand Coulee, but if I do, I'm going to Pepper Jack Bar and Grill. :D
I read through the previous reviews for Pepper Jack's and I acknowledge that the food is not that bad. That said, the only time I eat at this restaurant is when I have a mandatory work meeting during a meal time and there is no way to discreetly eat a meal in my car. I cannot get past the general dark and dingy feel of the place. I feel grimy when I am in the restaurant, and though the wait staff is friendly, I cannot shake that feeling long enough to enjoy a meal. The outside of the building is no better. The sign is frequently in poor repair, the roof is generally leaking, and the awning looks the worse for wear.
I believe that the ambiance of the restaurant is just as important as the food. Unfortunately, in my opinion Pepper Jack's atmosphere completely negates the possibility I'll ever enjoy the food.
