The Pepper Mill Restaurant and Catering

Stopped here on our way north, back to KC.  Just off hwy 71, I'd recommend you stop in if you're looking for friendly service and good home cookin'.  They have a fried chicken special on Sundays (only open from 11a - 2 p on Sun) that my wife and daughter both enjoyed.  Chicken fried steak and mashed parties were good too.  Very friendly and attentive staff.

Probably the best small town restaurant in a 30 mile radius.  Chicken fried steak was well executed and the special, chicken fried chicken, was  adequate.  Fried okra was marginal but the onion rings were pretty good.  The best part of the meal was the pie - locally made.  Place could use a good cleaning and new table cloths.  Soft drinks only.
