DON'T BOTHER IF YOU'RE HEARING IMPAIRED!!!
PAC in SLO has a very poor assisted listening system for the hearing impaired. They advertise state of the arts which is not correct. Twice I have gone there, assured the system was up and running. Very disappointed to have taken a large amount of time to drive there .... pick up hearing device, get settled ....Only to discover the thing didn't work correctly. Have to get up durning the performance and leave. When I turned in the device the ushers just acted like it happens all the time. I asked if they are aware it do not not operate properly. The answer was "we never know, most of the time there are problems" all the while acting as if this was a big bother for them to even have to be confronted with this issue.
Well I can't ...
waste my time and money to do this again ... So if you're hearing impaired ..... don' t bother with this "so called" Â premier venue because they don't service those who have hearing issues. Nor have they anyone who cares that you can't enjoy a performance there. They have very curt entitled
SLO types who usher and act as though they are better than everyone else because they can operate a flashlight and hand out programs. Very disappointing experience.
The premier venue to see a concert in San Luis Obispo.
I've seen dozens of shows here and although I may have been disappointed in some acts, I've never been let down by the PAC. True, the acoustics can be hit or miss, although it never deterred me from returning. I've seen acts like Lou Reed, Jethro Tull, Randy Newman, George Carlin, Â Weird Al, CSN, Jason Mraz, etc etc etc. Always had a great time.
Beer and wine served in the lobby, although no drinks are allowed inside. $5 parking. Â Friendly, elderly ushers to help you to your seat. (Oh... how they hated Carlin :) )
