Found the place by accident.  Felt like we went back in time, we had lunch there. It was awesome, sandwich and fries are home made fresh. Service was great and friendly. Wish i had taken some photos to post it.

Pinehurst Lodge is about 6 miles south of 180.  We've stopped there twice now and this will be our go-to restaurant when we're visiting Sequoia from now on.  The food has been good.  We've tried the french dip, the pulled pork, chicken strips, and grilled cheese.  Well, I can't honestly recommend the grilled cheese unless you like American cheese, in which case I can.  The owner and the servers/cooks are friendly and within a few minutes you'll feel like a regular if you strike up a conversation with someone.  I swear, the people up in Sequoia are so friendly.  Must be that wonderful mountain air.  Full bar.  Lunch and dinner. Small gift shop that I didn't check out.  Pool table.  Lollipops.

I'd also like to review the cabin that is available to rent.  They have one cabin, built in 1912 that is very spacious with two full size beds and a big comfy couch you could easily sleep on.  I'm not sure if it pulled out.  There are magazines and a couple of games to play.  I think they've added a couple of lamps based on another review because we had three total.  And one fan (needed!).

If you haven't stayed in the mountains the typical no TV, no wi-fi, no AC, no cell phone, no room phone applies here too.  And the untypical - no shampoo, no cover on the glass doors or the huge window in the bathroom.  That surprised me, but I got over it.  The bathroom door doesn't fully close.  The cabin isn't clean.  Let's just put that out there.  In the mountains everything is dusty.  It just is.  This cabin was no exception.  The carpet was pretty old, too.

All of this was OK - it's a cabin.  I decided I'd pretend I was camping with a good bed and a big couch.  But there was ONE thing... the well water smelled of sulfur.  We were warned when we checked in.  I don't think it's something they can easily change and I'm sure you get used to it... but oh my.   It is an experience taking a shower in egg smelling water.  And the drain was moldy or hairy or something.  Taking a quick shower while staying on the upslope of the drain without knocking the shower door open was a trick.  I didn't want to ever do that again.  On the plus side WE didn't smell like eggs, just the water.
