Smoke'm if you got'em. With their own smoke house, this place has got something special. This was my first time in, and honestly, maybe the first time I ever stopped in Wild Rose (literally). The wind must have been blowing just right, because from the street, you could not smell the smoker. But, as soon as I stepped foot inside, the subtle aroma filled my nose. I had intended on getting a burger and onion rings, but the smell from that smoker wiped any thought other than BBQ . On special was a brisket sandwich. Wow, I have not had bar-b-que for years, and this was near perfect. For beginners, the sandwich was giant, with plenty of meat. The brisket had a well defined smoke ring, and was tender and moist. Most importantly, the meat to sauce ratio was spot on. Just enough sauce to complement the natural smokey meaty flavor.
I never even opened the menu to see what else they had. Who cares. I will stop back, I will eat BBQ, I will not get anything else. However, I will peek in the menu next time to see if they serve greens. I love me some BBQ and greens!

Good prices and tasty food.  I must say that the service was impeccable (even though the girl was training, she was doing just great), well decorated (outdoorsy) and the food is delicious and so are the sour old fashions:) This is my second time and I will certainly be back when I am in the area!

Have driven past Pioneer Pub for years and have even stopped to eat once but the cigarette smoke inside was too thick to consider eating there.

Today Wisconsin's new smoking ban went into effect statewide so we thought we would check it out.   What a disappointing experience.   Very mediocre food at a high price.  My family spent over $45 with no alcohol, only one side, and one meal was a kid's meal.  They even charged us for the mayo for my wife's chicken sandwich.  

It seems like a great place to get an appy and a drink or two but I can only imagine what that would cost.  My advice, keep on driving!
