There aren't a lot of options in this area for an off the road, not-fast-food meal. Initially I was skeptical about this place -- generally, restaurants with giant fiberglass anythings out front aren't drawing people based on food quality -- Â but I was pleasantly surprised. Â The interior was immaculately clean. Two U-shaped bars with stools are front and center, and two dining rooms extend off to the left and right.
We were greeted warmly and sincerely when we walked in, and they mentioned we just missed breakfast. We almost left because of that but decided to glance at the menu first. The waitress identified breakfast-y items on the menu that are served all day and that's what we went with.
My brother and I split a large order of biscuits and gravy, which are served all day. At just under 10 bucks I expected a lot, and even then I wasn't disappointed. This is a massive portion of sausage gravy over two biscuits; it was easily enough for four people. The gravy was very dark and about 50% sausage. This could be split between 4 people if you were sharing other items; there's also a smaller portion available.
We also split a "Denver sandwich", which was a Denver omelet cooked and placed between 2 slices of toast. We had ours on rye and added some cheese. It was really good and a total surprise to both of us. For a little over three bucks, it's a great deal. I'd definitely order it again.
The coffee was excellent and super-fresh, and the service outstanding. I would recommend this place to any traveller in the area.
