PJ's White River Lodge

Everyone said that it was the best.... Most romantic.....best food....service to  be found anywhere around Mountain Home. I set myself up for failure by expecting too much.....the gentleman that greeted us was great .... Very pleasant and easy to converse with.... He seated us and it went downhill from there.  The waitress was uninformed and didn't put  up a good representation of what we were expecting.   She brought the varying menus for wine and dinner.....and asked us if wanted a Super A salad..... I guess the inflection caught me off guard but it was a request that begged me to ask what exactly was the Super A all about. I know .... A soup or a salad .... But damn , she really did use the long sharp a's to modify.
I chose a Chilean Malbec which  was fantastic.....  
We also ordered the seafood bisque appetizer
We chose the stuffed salmon as well as the prime rib....
The soup and the entrees arrived at the same time...... damn that!
The Prime Rib was fantastic..... The salmon was very dry and I'm not really sure what they stuffed it with but it wasn't the shrimp as mentioned on the menu. More of a cream cheese whip.
The Creme Brulee was ice cold on the inside.....not the way it is supposed to be served.
I couldn't help but get the impression that they were trying to turn our table as fast as possible...... But even Chile's in Mountain Home has a more attentive wait person.
By in large the atmosphere was not romantic..... Too bright and in no way intimate. I think the Prime Rib and wine were very good and I will rate them as such.....but that is the extent of the good rating.. Romantic Atmosphere and service...not romantic at all and the service sucked.... Not sure if I'll go back.... But on the bright side, they brought us our check without ever asking for it....I think it actually came before the desert.....they were in a hurry and after all that....so was I.
If I want a romantic dinner......Ill prepare it myself or go to city in New York or Scottsdale...or Memphis.....or anyplace but this place.
