Porter's Tavern

Take a drive to the country and experience Porter's Tavern. The address says McCleary, but it is really in Porter and worth the drive! It's easy to find - just plug it in your GPS as it is the best and only attraction in the town of Porter! We celebrated my Mom's birthday here and everyone felt very welcomed by the owner, Kay.The saloon is very clean with great bathrooms and a wonderful patio. Sit yourself up on the tractor seat at the bar and enjoy a drink. An expansion is in the works, but don't wait for the remodel to go and visit. It would be a great finish to a day of hiking in the Capital Forest or a nice break on a drive back from the ocean.The dishes are new everyday and no menus are necessary. We were treated to a skillet of nachos, with a unique version that included pulled pork and a lovely green salad, organically grown by the owner in her nearby garden. Happy Birthday, Mom!
