Best Tex-Mex in East Texas indeed!
We stopped by here on our way to Dallas from Shreveport, and I must say, every aspect of this establishment exceeded my expectations.
The service was great! Our server was very nice, attentive, and well-informed in every way. We all ordered something different with various customizations, and she got it all correct.
The food itself was fantastic as well! We received fresh warm tortillas and chips/salsa within a minute of being seated. The spicy chicken guisado was my favorite, which I ordered as a 3-item lunch platter. The quality and taste of chicken isn't always good at many Tex-Mex restaurants that I've experienced, but was great here. The chicken enchiladas and fajitas were equally delicious! All meals had great portions too!
The complimentary chips, tortillas, salsa, and frozen yogurt were definitely just an added bonus. If I lived near this area, I would definitely be a regular here!
We went to Posados last Wednesday nite for the "fajitas for 2 for $16.99" special and were more than satisfied with the quality of the food as well as the portion size. Â We agreed the the chicken was marginally better than the beef, although both were good and decently seasoned. Â The setups were ample and consisted of sour cream, guacamole, cheese and pico de gallo as well as a large plate of refried beans and rice. Â The chips were hot and crispy and the hot sauce was really good (we must have consumed at least a quart of the stuff!). Â Tortillas and hot sopapillas are complimentary with the meal. Â
The atmosphere is standard Tex Mex with lots of Mexican market style decor and a comfortable bar. Â Feel free to go in your shorts and flip flops. Â You will fit right in!
Just your average tex-mex places, but they serve good portions and if you dine in, you get free sopapillas for desert. My husband and I eat lunch there and have chips and salsa, then split a number 2 luch special , then get sopapillas after. The bill winds up less than 15$ and we both leave full.
Review Source:Was seated and immediately got chips and Salsa. Â Watched multiple members of the waitstaff visiting, fixing their hair in the mirrors, etc. Â After 15 minutes without a single person stopping by the table we got up and left. Â Good luck at this place! Suggested to the Hostess on the way out that she not seat people where there is no one from the waitstaff working and she looked at me like I was STUPID!
Review Source:Pretty average. I've had better and I've had worse. Nice fresh tortillas, but nowdays you have to ask for them while before they'd bring them along with the chips and salsa. I like the chips and salsa here a lot, and they'll keep bringing them as long as you keep eating them.
Tamales were pretty good though I'm not a big fan of their ranchero sauce.
I'd probably go elsewhere; there are a lot of places to get much better Mexican food.
Friendly service, ok tex mex food. Â We were absolutely starving, so this fit the bill. Â Convenient location and you can get a margarita...you never know when traveling through East Texas! Â Don't forget your free ice cream come on the way out. Â Kinda pricy compared to other chains...$57 (excluding tip) for three people, one marg each. Â Also, charged .80 for extra jalapenos, but no charge for tortillas.
Review Source:This was one of the last Pasado's we ate at before moving to Seattle. The staff was very kind. Our one year old wasn't having a good time and our waitress tried her best to cheer her up. My complaint was the food. I love Chicken Chimichangas. The one they served me was some frozen brand and it was very easy to tell the truth. During my latest visit to East Texas, I avoided both Pasados and Mercado's. I expect homeaid and fresh food at a place in this price point. I'm not sure if they changed products, but whatever the case maybe, they need to reevaluate because they lost me as a customer and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Review Source:Very good. We've been a couple of times when we stay in Lindale on our Canton shopping trips. It was very busy but we only waited 5 min for a table. Our waitress was really busy but didn't ignore us - we got all our food on time. We had the yummy chips, salsa & queso and fajitas and chimichangas. The food & service was good, we will visit again.
