Just came from the PRT, OMG...dinner was delicious and the beer even better.  My husband had a Lone Warrior IPA  from Rocky Coat Brewing (their own beer) and really enjoyed it.  We each ordered a "comfy food" dinner since it was a cold rainy May evening.  I cannot say enough about how wonderful my entree was.  Mac and cheese with pesto, chicken and sun dried tomatoes, yum, yum!  I could only eat half and brought the rest home for the next day.  My husband had their famous Shepard's Pie, another good choice.   The food was homemade and large portions.   The staff was friendly and attentive.  We will go back again I am sure as the summer season is just beginning.  Great job PRT!

Friendly, family run restaurant with an interesting menu.  If you're looking for five star upper end this isn't the place for you.  Upon seating the our waitress, who we later learned was one of the owners, promptly came to our table to take our drink order.  After inquiring about their draft beer selection she made two trips bringing us samples of their current offerings.  We started off with the warm brussel sprout salad appetizer.  More than enough for two to share .... to die for.  I ordered a cheeseburger and my wife had one of their haddock dishes.  The large portions arrived hot and did not disappoint.  The service was very attentive and friendly.  We will definitely return on our next trip to Ogunquit!

For once, I wish you could post replies to reviews - especially when the owner blasts you and lies about what happened.

The owner of this establish must clearly drink on the job. His reply to my friends comment was just absolutely ridiculous.

We did NOT go in looking for free samples, or to start trouble. We are dedicated foodies and support the local movements. We never try to get anything for free and the reality of it was, between the three of us our bill would have been well over $150.

This restaurant was not what we expected. The owner/manager/bar tender/ "general employee" told us his website is updated weekly. So that all of the beer we saw online that wasn't available must have sold out over night. When we didn't know what he had for beer, he brought us out a sample. We did not ask for samples - we asked what he had for DARK beer. He studdered a little, and walked away. The waitress returned and asked to see our ID's which confused us because we hadn't ordered anything.

His reply in regards to how he "asked us to leave" is completely false. I wish I had a camera recording because the truth could be told properly. He literally walked out and said, "Larry, Moe and Curly" told us to pick up our keys and get the "f**k" out. No joke. No lies. We were so shocked that YES, we did take our time leaving. Did he really call the cops? NO he didn't. I told him I would talk to them myself. He pretended to call the cops.

We then took our money to a place up the road, where we spoke to the owner who told us that this "gentlemen" bashes them all over the internet. Clearly this man is delusional and should not be in the business. I am still so disgusted by this experience...

Good wings with a nice variety of sauces, excellent draft beer selection that has new beers to try every time we go there. They have a good menu of sandwiches and entrees, always find something here. The staff is friendly and attentive.

I'm giving it Five Stars because of the awesome and constantly changing draft beer selection.  They have a pint of the day special for $3.50 which is a great deal plus a happy hour.  The food is interesting, some of it quite good, some of it excellent and some of it ordinary.  You will get your money's worth on the food no matter what.  Despite a poor review of the wings, we love them but you have to be sure you know the sauce you order and they have a card that tells you how hot each one is.  The Disco Fries may be great but have an ambulance standing by if you have any heart issues!  It's death on a plate.....

I have two words for you.

    DISCO FRIES!

Hand cut fries with melted cheddar, house smoked pulled pork, sour cream, and scallions; finished with barbecue sauce

Their other food is equally amazing. But the disco fries are the greatest. We are heading up there to tonight and I have been thinking about disco fries all week.

If you're looking for an ocean view this is not the place for you. But on the other hand if you want to be treated like an old friend by Elaine the most charming hostess in Maine and fed like a you're in a four star restaurant by executive chef Kayla Maniery look no further! Jerry the proprietor of the Trellis House sent us there and we went back the food was so outrageously good and so well priced. Twin lobsters $23! With a baked potato! And you have to try the Disco fries with the house made pulled pork and the best BBQ sauce outside of TX! Then go back for the Pub Crisps and the Lobster Mac and Cheese (yup homemade sauce!) holy mack was that good and the burgers too!!

Let's just say these folks know how to cook and make you feel welcome - so of you can live without the view and don't need ambiance out the wazoo to enjoy a great meal you are in for a great time! Ask for Elaine and tell her the 3 girls from NY sent you!

Great food and service. We stayed in Wells for a week and ate here twice because it was so good. The disco fries were different, but delicious. I had the fried shrimp platter. The breading was light and SO flavorful. We'll definitely be back on our next trip up.

This will be one of two reviews the first will be just for the wings alone . I love chicken wings as does my son,and have had plenty of them from everywhere . Hands down PRT are the best !!!!! They have wings called toxic waste that are the hottest around in fact they warn you before you order them and then have you sign a wavier before you can eat them. So if you eat them and get sick later it is not there fault it is yours  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite are the atomic XX and we also tried the teriyaki wings which were very good as well . Me and my son and his friend had 6 of the toxic waste wings and let me tell you these things are like rocket fuel the boys were sweating like there were woking out !!! I only had half a wing with knife and fork and could not feel my mouth for a few minutes, but that did not stop us from putting down 24 atomic XX wings with my brothers help also, If you like wings this is the place to go and thank god it is only and hour from my house !!! I will still keep searching for wings almost as good as these back home untill my next trip to PRT !!

On July 18th, two of my girlfriends and I took a day trip to Ogunquit Maine. Being foodies and great beer lovers, we decided to research great places to eat and grab a beer after a long day at the beach. So I did some research online to find places that were reasonably priced and had a great menu. Post Road Tavern happened to be one that grabbed my attention. The online beer list was amazing and the menu sounded great. So we collectively decided to go to PRT after our beach visit.
Upon getting to Post Road Tavern at approximately 4:30pm, the first thing we noticed was not one customer was at the restaurant. We thought that was strange for a tourist area, but went with it anyway. We had been in the hot sun all day and the air conditioning was too much, so we asked the hostess to seat us outside. With a bit of hesitation, she did. When we were seated the waitress gave us the beer menu. Much to my displeasure, the beer list didn't match the one we saw online just one day before AT ALL. So we asked the waitress about that. She claimed that the website is rarely updated. We then asked our waitress if the bartender could explain the different beers to us, because she could not. So, she got the bartender and he came to our table. He told us he was the bartender/owner and general employee of PRT. After we asked a few questions about the beer, and the difference between the online beer list and the beer list at the bar, he claimed that they go through beer so fast, that the list is hard to keep up on. We asked him "you went through that many kegs in one day"? He said "absolutely". he,then flashed what seemed to be a fake smile and started to walk away. He said he'd be right back. Us girls thought that was weird. About 5 minutes later our waitress came out and  asked us for our ID's. We told her we haven't even ordered any alcoholic beverages yet. She said she knew that but needed to see them anyway. So we obliged. Also weird. We then ordered an onion blossom and decided to go somewhere else for dinner, the vibe seemed weird to us. About 10 minutes later our waitress brought our onion blossom to our table and asked if we were ready to order anything else. We said no, that would be all.
As we went to grab pieces off of the onion, they would not pull off like a normal onion blossom would. So we decided to troubleshoot like anyone would to eat their food. We cut the onion in half. Much to our surprise, the onion had GLOBS of uncooked batter and loose flour bits all throughout. Knowing that that is not OK to eat, we kindly brought it to our waitresses attention and asked if the cook could put it back in the fryer to get the left over batter to be cooked.  She went back inside to ask. A few seconds later the bartender/owner came out quickly, pointed at us and said "Lo, Mo, and Curly! Grab your keys and get the F**k off of my property. You have 30 seconds to get out of here before I call the police!". He then went inside. So, as he asked, we grabbed our belongings and started to walk to the car in complete and utter disbelief. He was THAT upset over an onion that HIS restaurant undercooked? He then proceeded to come out and yell more obscenities at us, again threatening to call the police, phone in hand. One of my friends said "Please, call them. I would love to speak with them about your establishment". He then went back inside and we left. I know this sounds completely unbelievable, and to us it seemed unbelievable. But, unfortunately this did happen. I have never in my life been treated with such utter disrespect. As a restaurant owner, you are supposed to take care of customers. It's what keeps your business going. A complaint as small as an undercooked appetizer shouldn't have been such an issue. I kept thinking, imagine if we sent a steak back. Would he have hit us? I'd hate to see how they cook poultry or pork. Someone could get seriously ill.
Needless to say, after that we went to another restaurant about a block up the road called Beachfire. The owner was hosting there and we explained the situation  that just happened to us at Post Road Tavern. He said he'd heard bad things about that place. Our visit to Beachfire was AMZING! They treated us like queens. In return, we spend over $150.00 there! We potentially could have spent that at Post Road Tavern, but they ruined that opportunity. To conclude my story, I'd just like to tell you to trust your gut instinct. We should have left when we started to feel uncomfortable in the first place.
