The reviews here are certainly old and not what we experienced. But after inquiring about the history, the owners have changed and the meal was fantastic as was service.
Each of us in our party of 5 had a different choice off of the menu. From the nights Prim Rib special which was so tender, to a basic burger , Shrimp and one of the best Chicken Fried Steaks we had eaten in a long time.
We thought we were too full for dessert but when they offered us their signature Bread Pudding with Amaretto Sauce, we couldn't help but try it ... we were not disappointed.
We will certainly be coming to Pretty Prairie to eat again soon and will bring out family and friends.

Wow, what can I say!!, This place is fabulous!!  We started off with some yummy sweet potato fries and then proceeded to order steaks.  My husband ordered the flat iron steak and said it was the best steak he has ever eatten (and folks, we have ate all over the world).  I ordered the filet-mignon and boy was it delish!!  I met the cook from the kitchen and she hand cuts and seasons the steaks herself!  We polished off our meal with a wonderful bottle of Merlot (Kendall Jackson?) anywho wow was that good and it must have been our lucky night because the bottles of wine were half-price (I guess Wednesdays are the wine bottle specials)!!
I wish I hadn't got so full because it was rumored that the bread pudding is phenomenal!!...I guess I will just have to save my appetite for another trip to this really great steak house (very cute decor and murals on the walls oh....and they also had a bar, pool tables video games and outdoor seating!)
I highly recommend this place.  The owner obviously takes great pride in his establishment!!

#204 Going to a steakhouse on our first trip to the Midwest ... not stereotypical at all, right? Ha. For lunch today, my mother's sponsors decided that it would be a treat for us to go to the steakhouse of Pretty Prairie to have lunch with several members of the Mennonite Church that helped bring my mother and uncles to the US about 31 years ago. The company was entertaining, however the steakhouse itself was not. Though, it's what can be expected in an almost defunct city like Pretty Prairie.

The menu was incredibly short and meat-centric. I could only order a salad topped with popcorn shrimp, which is not what I would normally want to eat for lunch - I don't like salads. Plus, the Caesar's Salad was tossed with way too much dressing and a gratuitous amount of cheese - no wonder the Midwest has problems with obesity. The popcorn shrimp was obviously frozen and the batter was much too tough - it had been overcooked. So, on top of all of the extra calories, I also had to fully dip my popcorn shrimp in ketchup in order to be able to consume it.

They also had a special today - a German dish whipped up by the chef in the morning - Beerock and, at a table of 10, we ordered 8 of them. Just a tad too many with no creativity? Yeah, I think so. Nonetheless, they provided us with ample seating, the service was on-point, and the overall experience was memorable. So, 2 stars off for the sad food and a point off for the manager being a bit snippy about taking a group picture for us because, come on, who does that?
