I've driven by the restaurant countless times and always had an interest in going.  After snagging a half price gift certificate off of groupon, my husband & I decided to head out there on a Sunday evening.

Place was easy to find, but parking was fairly difficult. The restaurant was fairly small, had live music, and an interesting decor.

Waitress was nice, but seemed very inexperienced.  We ordered a certain kind of mix drink, and she brought us back a beer. When we corrected her she said that they didn't know how to make the drink we ordered.  Requested an amaretto sour instead, and it was very watery. We asked her about a few dishes and she didn't appear to be very knowledgeable about them. My husband ordered coke or pepsi, was told they only have RC Cola and only one refill is free.  Asked waitress for extra napkins twice and was never brought any.

My husband ordered his meal (the chicken stuffed with ham) and asked that there be no tomato or scallions, but  when served, it had both of it on there. Said chicken was tough, ham was cold, and was served in an odd shaped bowl which made it difficult to cut. Fries were unseasoned and cold.
I got the heart of the bayou sampler, was very disappointed.  Hush puppies were burnt, catfish was cold and dry, it only came with two shrimp and 3 pieces of crawfish (the garlic butter sauce they were served in was very good), clam strips were fairly good, but didn't come with many. Gumbo had a good taste, but was very watery.  Portions were small, we both left unsatisfied.

Overall I'm very disappointed in our experience and will not return. If you're going to go, I recommend going if you can snag a discount coupon. Definitely not worth their full price menu.

My wife and I were passing through Columbia, Pa and saw Prudhomme's in TripAdvisor. We went there on a busy Saturday evening and had a fabulous meal. The restaurant is Cajun and it features shrimp, alligator, catfish, etc. The place has a shabby cool atmosphere. How can I put it? No need to dress up. My wife ordered a shrimp platter that featured three kinds of shrimp. She gave me a taste and it was excellent. There was also a nicely spiced rice, pepper and tomato side that was a great compliment. There were also excellent hush puppies and Cole slaw. My own platter was similar but instead of shrimp, I ordered catfish. It was richly seasoned (very Cajun) and the fish was fresh. Being a Saturday night there was entertainment, a singer (really good) who did rhythm and blues and some easily recognizable popular tunes. I ordered a pint of Yuengling and my wife had a scotch. Our bill was an extremely reasonable $47+. With tip we walked out $57 dollar lighter but with a very rich dining experience. The desserts looked sinfully good (Cajun/New Orleans style pies) but our better angels recommended that we abstain in order to fit into our clothes. I really wanted to give it 4 1/2 stars but there are no halfs. Lots of locals.

Grossed out by our dinner. Microwaved shrimp creole with cold rice and HOT shrimp. Waiter diappeared for LONG periods of time (to bathroom we discovered--he apparently was ill). Owner chatted us up and wouldn't leave us alone to eat... until we needed her assistance, and she'd vanished into thin air. Thick layer of greasy dust everywhere.... can only imagine how horrible the kitchen must be.  Once there--never again!
