It's one year after opening and this place has not lived up to expectations. Â The food quality is inconsistent, "it depends on who the cook is" I was told by one of the staff. Â The once hot wait staff has been replaced with a bunch of indifferent guys who occasionally take a break from playing pool to offer to refill your drink. Â And due to poor acoustics it's LOUD in there, too loud to hold a conversation.
Review Source:Newly opened in the basement of the best pizza place in town...Pizza King
This sports bar...pub...restaurant  has all the tributes to the area teams and a place where you not only want to look at the sports memorabilia and view the games on several HDTV's but also a wall dedicated to the public servants of the fire and police departments of the area.
The wait staff are generous...professional and not hard to look at. There was music playing continuously with a good mix and the evening I visited a one man band stood and entertained a swelling crowd with 70's and 80's rock and did a good cover of all the standards.
Some kinks to work out with only a week under their belt...but a talk with the owner and managers leads me to believe that by the time the Ferris State University students settle into the new school year and start to wander...they will be very pleased to find a student friendly 'watering hole' that can serve up the best pizza in town ...right across the street from their dorms.
You gotta love this place...I know I did:...check out their Facebook page:  <a href="/redir?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fprofile.php%3Fid%3D1388201141%26ref%3Dprofile%23%21%2Fpages%2FThe-Pub-at-Pizza-King%2F259126254116311&s=22c90ba4c30b805cd4c2c2c4394ba1d4291cc545154df96dafa109287ccae251" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.facebook.com…</a>
