My wife and I really enjoyed this place. It's a local, family run pub with a simple menu, very good quality food, and a friendly atmosphere. If you're visiting Lake George and looking for a comfortable place to grab some wings and catch the game definitely come here. I was in the mood for buffalo wings and a burger, and my wife had the pastrami sandwich. We both really enjoyed our meal and heard others raving about how great their sweet potato fries were. Staff is friendly and fun to talk to.

Turkey gobbler. My gf almost left me for this sandwich. Turkey dinner on Texas toast. I had the ribs, I don't smoke but I felt like lighting up after this!

Wow, I'm behind on my reviews but here we go!

Pub on 9 is the kind of place that made me feel like I was back in rural Wisconsin (where I travelled for business at my old job) in a very good way.  Friendly people, lots of space for dancing and socializing, delicious and greasy food (yeah, even though I had packed my bikini for the next day--what can you do?  haha), cheap drinks.

I came in a group of eight one night earlier this summer while in the area and the staff took great care of us.  What made the evening especially fun was the entertainment from Bobby Dick and DJ Susie Q.  We won free drinks from a little Name-that-Tune game and I enjoyed dancing to Rod Stewart "Having a Party."

I'm not all that familiar with Lake George nightlife but Pub on 9 is definitely a place I would recommend to anyone in the area.

formerly the Wooden Barrel, Pub on 9 has recently re-opened under new management and a new name. seems to be on the right track!

six of us rolled in here for dinner and drinks the other night. the beer list is solid - aside from the usual big names, there was a nice mix of New York state craft beers (the Lake Placid and Adirondack Breweries) as well as some German beers. we missed happy hour but a nice cold draft of good beer was only $5.

so far as food, the menu is your usual bar fare, but a bit better than you'd expect. I went for the roast turkey dinner - 12 bucks for a huge plate of turkey, fries, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a nice portion of gravy. it certainly hit the spot after a long drive up. good thing we had a walk uphill out of here! service was great and the prices are affordable.

atmosphere-wise: this place is really big. there is a large main dining area, a side room with pool tables and more seating, and a huge bar area. seating is comfortable (padded rolly chairs!) and it's totally casual.

when we went, the entertainers for the night were Bobby Dick and DJ Susie, who played/sang a great mix of classic rock, oldies, and 80s/90s tunes. they even did music trivia for free drinks - though us youngins kinda mopped the floor when it came to 80s/90s music, haha. as it turned out Bobby Dick was from Brooklyn and has family in Forest Hills, so we got along like two old paesans.

also, there was one guy drinking there who looked exactly like Boomhauer from "King of the Hill", which was hilarious.

attracting a mixed crowd, young and old, local and visitor, this is a welcome addition to the Lake George area. with various drink/food specials during the week and events/live music during the week, Pub on 9 will hopefully be around for a while and add a little more excitement to the Lake George nightlife.
