Had Chicken Chipotle pizza and a garden salad.  We actually ordered 2 garden salads, which was grossly unnecessary as the salads were meal-sized and big enough to share.  (The waitress could have pointed his out...)  They were out of the vinegarette I wanted, and the one I got was mostly oil.  Service was blah...Nay...it was bad.  Waited 30 minutes for a pizza and they brought our two giant salads out after the pizza was served.  On the positive side the food was great.  Salad was fresh and crisp (and massive) and the pizza was delicious.  I'd go back and hope they were just having an off night with the service.  2 different tables walked out while we waited for our pizza.

Came in for a to go order.  First time here.  Business looks steady from the crowd.  Seated the bar, several employees come and go before I'm greeted and asked what I'd like to drink.

Ordered the Mafia and Hawaiian.  Both were good.  Lots of flavor.  I'll go back.  Clearly this restaurant needs more time to be established and work out the kinks.  Looking forward to this corner pub in the historic Morris building becoming a staple of Dtn Huntington.

    4 months later....  Return visit:
My family came in as a five top.  On my previous visit I came in and ordered takeout from the bar alone.  We stood ungreeted at the entrance for five minutes before we stopped a bartender and found out it's seat yourself.   A small sign would probably be helpful here.
We found a clean 4 seat table and moved a dirty table to it so we'd all be able to eat together.  The wait began...  15 minutes went by, never once did a server look at us and acknowledge us.  In fact, the adjacent tables were served and the servers went out of their way to avoid eye contact.
Finally I got up and walked to the kitchen window and asked if someone could wait on us.
When the server finally arrived she informed us they did not have any pizza dough and could not make pizza....  Huh!?  So at 8pm on Saturday night, this pizza place is out of pizza dough?
We chose this place FOR the pizza.
After such a crap experience thus far, an unsympathetic staff and an apparently missing manager, we decided to leave for Roosters.  At least the chicken place down the street has pizza dough.
Not sure if I'll ever get to use the $50 gift certificate I have for this place.  But you can bet I'll be sure to update this review and let everyone know of my dining experience.

A pizza place that I think has the best burger in town.

I love this restaurant. I have been here several times am starting to introduce my friends to the restaurant. The atmosphere and service is always great. The first time we ate there the service was a bit slow, but the quality of the food made up for it. They also made up for the slow service by giving us a discount.  I love the Chipotle Chicken Pizza and the Moroccan Chicken Salad. Everything is fresh and tastes unique. Go, I love the servers here, they have all been nice and accommodating! Beer on tap and wine selection can't be beat.

Being that Pub & Oven is directly next door to Backyard Pizza, it is impossible not to compare the two. There's kind of no contest right now--Backyard wins hands down--but  Pub & Oven is decent and I end up eating there whenever Backyard is closed or their line is too long, which means basically every time I decide to eat pizza.

The interior lacks the ambiance that Backyard has, which is fine, but it also seems to be suffering from an unresolved identity crisis. Some aspects are quite nice: The floors and windows are beautiful and historic looking, as is the bar area. However, the barren walls and  office ceiling tiles belie the cozy atmosphere that the restaurant's name suggests. There is also an awkward mix of standard and high-top tables and some flimsy looking chairs, which are all functional but not particularly attractive. The flat-screen TV's also strike me as out of place, but this may be because I desperately want Pub & Oven to be a classy-casual pizza pub, rather than another cheap sports bar.

The service is consistently poor. Most of the times I've been here, I've had to wait well over an hour for a single pizza. The waiters are generally attentive and apologetic, and once I was even comped a round of beers while waiting, but at a certain point all I want to do was stuff my face with pizza. Do not come here if you're in a hurry.

Despite all this, I find myself returning fairly regularly and for the exclusive purpose of eating their Holy Shiitake mushroom pizza, which is truly delicious. On occasion I have tried slices of other pizzas that my friends have offered, but none of them ever taste quite as good to me. Thus, I can't really speak to anything else on the menu because I can never bring myself to order anything other than the mushroom pizza.

Also, I've passed by a couple times in the evening while live music was going on, but have never been inside during a performance set. Depending on the type of music, that could be a lovely experience.

I think this place could be really great with a few minor adjustments, such as improving the consistency of the service and "class"-ing the place up (or down). Still, if you find yourself part of the Backyard spill-over and have at least two hours to kill, it's worth stopping into Pub & Oven for their Holy Shiitake pizza.
