    We randomly stopped on our way home from a weekend in Show Low. We made it before noon so got to order breakfast. Great little place and seemed to be the best option from all the places we drove past. Food was good, good serving size, good place for the kids, nice people. All over a great find!

    Passing through the forests we stopped at a nearby hotel and ate here for breakfast.
    Had some eggs, French toast and pancakes. All of which were good serving sizes. Had to take some to go. So we have some lunch for later now!
    People there were friendly and it's a great looking cafe. Totally recommend

    Purple Sage - We noticed the owners classic car in the parking lot and knew we had to stop and check it out.  It is a thing of beauty with a paint job you wouldn't believe, and worth a look even if you don't stop to eat.

    We left Phoenix at 5:00 am and the Purple Sage was perfectly located fora breakfast stop.  The interior of the shop is adorably decorated in a western/Native American theme. There is a display case full of jewelry for sale, and a shelf full of home-canned jellies and jams.  My friend, Tyoni, said it's always a good sign when a local cafe sells home made jam.

    There is a display case full of pie that looks pretty good, though we were here for breakfast and didn't try any, and another display case fill of Dreyers ice cream.  Tyoni and I ordered the Purple Sage Special.  Tyoni which consisted of two eggs (we order ours scrambled), two slices of cherry smoked bacon, a hash brown casserole, and your choice of biscuit or English muffin.  Tyoni seriously considered ordering the biscuit, but she is really picky about her gravy and the Purple Sage uses canned gravy which did not pass muster, so she got the English muffin instead.  The bacon was good, and the hash brown casserole was excellent - cheesy, well seasoned, and nice and crispy golden brown on the outside.  The English muffin and scrambled eggs were unimpressive, forgettable.  On the whole the meal was two stars.  We all agreed we've had much better, but the decor was cute and the service excellent.

    The Purple Sage Cafe sells a full array coffee drinks including Americano, latte, mocha, macchiato    Display case Dreyers ice cream.   Display case for pies.

    If it looks even remotely busy you will most likely have a 1 hour wait for you food after sitting at the table and getting your order in. That was our experience when ordering some basic eggs and pancakes.  The food is ok and good for the price but I think that based on the speed of the food coming out of the kitchen they only have one small burner in the back to cook on.

    What's different-
    * Expresso machine
    * Creative menu, including eggs benedict.  Egg and sausage with gravy burrito.

    Cute atmosphere.  Tidy place.  Well-prepared breakfast.

    This place just opened up today and we decided to try it out at the Heber-Overgaard Fire Department. The staff was very friendly and quick to seat us. The atmosphere relaxing and peaceful.  All of us enjoyed our food and will be back for more.
