I stopped in here with my roommates for a quick bite to eat on our way back to Missoula after visiting Helena for an event. It was a Saturday night and it wasn't very crowded in there which struck me as a little odd. The menu seemed good with a lot of options for food and drink. We put in our orders and the food and our drinks came to us in a timely fashion. I enjoyed what I had and this place really served as a good "in and out" kind of place. It would've been nice if it was a little more lively. I mean, it is a sports bar after all.

We've been here twice now..it's standard bar food. The burger special was good and reasonably priced.  Would be a great place to go and watch a game.

When I was informed about the daily soup I was skeptical about trying it.  A chicken caeser soup, yup I said chicken caeser.  For a pub soup it was not bad all though it is hard to mess up a soup by adding a little ceased dressing.  Now the the burger was an over priced frozen patties with somewhat carmalized onions.  The only reason the burger is spendy is the pastrami.  Top that with the fake pepper jack cheese you strike out.  The fries come in frozen.  They were chewy and warmish at best.  Definitely been sitting before service.  The sourdough was way to go greasy from all the butter used to toast it.  For the 12.95 spent on the burger I only ate 2.00 worth of it.  Learned my lesson.

Our group ended up here by accident one Sunday afternoon for lunch- had never been here before- the house was just about full- we were seated right away and waited on fairly quickly- wait staff was very nice and helpful- prices were about average, but the food was great- no...it was fantastic- had the Guiness burger- I can honestly say it was absolutely the best burger I have ever had...period. Another agreed, best burgers in town. One at our table, who is a very fussy eater, was very pleased with the reuben. Great salad and best dressing. The beer cheese soup was spot on. We used to frequent another "top" burger and brew place in town, but not anymore. when we have a hankerin' for a burger, this'll be where we're heading! (and no, I don't work there or have stock in the company- just a very happy customer who happened to wander in off the street!)

I came here for a lunch meeting and I thought it was amazing! The waitress was great & the food was awesome!! I ordered the Cowboy Burger which had yummy BBQ sauce and onion strings on it. It was so big that I couldn't even finish it.

It would be a great place to have drinks and watch any sports game. I will definitely be going here again!

Decided to go watch a game here again, closer to home. This place is great if you just want to watch a game(considering they have it on) and don't need anything from the staff there.  I just don't understand how they can justify a bartender taking off and leaving the bar area?? Or the rest of the staff BSing in a corner when people are trying to get their attention. This place used to be my favorite place to go and watch sports. Not anymore. I'll go to the cookie cutter places further outside of town. The one plus side was the bartender (Erica) at least had a personality, put my game on and turned up the volume a little.

I have such mixed feelings about this place. If you go on a weekday afternoon the service is good and the servers and bartenders are friendly and helpful and the food is decent. However, if you go there for an event that actually draws people, like a football game, World Cup Soccer, or any other televised sporting event that attracts fans to a sports bar, forget about it.

Sunday NFL football should be one of the biggest draws and money makers for a restaurant that advertises itself as a sports bar. But the staff and manager the Quarry seem to think all those Sunday football fans are more of an annoyance than paying customers. It regularly takes 20-40 minutes to get service, and then when they do finally take your order it could easily be another 20 minutes or before your drink shows up. Oh, and good luck ordering food and getting it before halftime. That's just for starters. Try getting out of there in less than an hour once you're ready to leave. Good luck. It took our group of five more than an hour to get our check, pay, and get out. Even then other people who joined the table and wanted to order drinks were repeatedly ignored by the server. And that's how they treat REGULARS.

The staff have chalked up their difficulties to short staff, but this is a constant problem, not an isolated one.

It's very hit and miss at the Quarry. Some of the bartenders and servers treat you great with respect and provide good service, and other staff seem to think doing their job in a timely fashion is either too difficult or inconvenient. It's very frustrating, because this is the only centrally-located sports bar in Helena. The only other other real option is to drive all they way out into Big Box Land to go to Buffalo Wild Wings. I'd like to support a local downtown business, but after such poor service time and time again I just can't justify going back to the Quarry for games. I guess next weekend I'll get on my bike and risk riding on a busy road three miles to BWW.

Bartender was loud and obnoxious.  Food was waaaayyyy overpriced and not good at all.  You could do better in the frozen food section of a gas station.

Holiday Inn's restaurant & bar. Free popcorn at the bar to go with your drinks! Standard bar food

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for a business trip and ate dinner here twice and breakfast 3 times.

Breakfast first - standard fare is offered.  Eggs, omelettes, pancakes, cereal, etc.  Service was fast and very friendly.  The blueberry pancakes were fresh, huge and more than I could think of finishing.  The skillet breakfast was a nice combo of pan roasted potatoes, peppers, sausage and bacon with 2 eggs on top cooked any way you want.  Coffee, hot, strong and the pot is left at the table so you can keep filling up yourself.

Dinner was also ok.  It's a sports bar with lots of locals hanging out.  I had the chicken breasts one night.  It came with a huge helping of broccoli (yay) and pilaf (nay), so I asked for mashed potatoes.  What arrived was a huge serving of french-fried onions.  When I mentioned the error, garlic mashed potatoes arrived steaming hot at no charge.  Turns out the french-fried onions weren't too bad either :).

Second dinner choice was a cobb salad.  All the ingredients were fresh and the accompanying dressing was homemade and on the side.

All in all, friendly service, varied menu, well prepared food in a friendly atmosphere..

I have had food there twice.  I'd explain these events differently:

1.)  Dinner there was good, not great... probably in the three-to-four star range.  The waitress didn't really understand the menu (and it isn't that complicated; burgers and meat) but the burger was solid... the beer was cold... the sides were salty.  We watched a couple of college basketball games.  It was decent.

2.)  Recently, I went to breakfast there and the experience was awful.  The food was off of the Holiday Inn standard breakfast menu.  Not gourmet but decent.  We had two waitresses: one who is nice and almost too perky and one who was grumpytastic.  The nice one ignored us after sitting down and we then waited for 10 minutes.  The grumpy one then decided to wait on us.  She couldn't answer questions about the menu and then after I ordered something prominently featured on the menu, she huffed away.  She returned 5 minutes later saying "we don't serve that."  Her tone suggested that I'd regret asking about it, so I didn't.  The food was flatly awful.  Pancakes were rubbery, like they were refab pancakes that were heated up in a microwave.  Bacon was unevenly cooked.  My wife sausage links were a delightful mix of cold and oily.  I get that this isn't a gourmet restaurant but it seemed like they weren't even trying.  It didn't help that I spent much of the rest of our meal listening to the staff loudly complain about the upcoming week's work schedule and a strange argument between the two on the wait staff about whether or not the grumpy one should be working off the clock.

The restaurant seems distinctly dysfunctional.  I am sure a hotel chain like the Holiday Inn wants its properties to have breakfast but if this is the best you can do, please, don't invite the general public.
