We stopped here as we came down from Chinook Pass. My wife ordered the special, pulled pork tacos and I had the western burger (held the BBQ sauce). Oh my gawd, it was awesome. The burger was cooked to my taste, med- well, with two large onion rings and fries with a side of Stella beer ! Doesn't get any better than that ! Recommend it highly !
Review Source:This is the best place to eat in town. i was shocked to see the bad reviews. there pulled pork sandwhich is killer, there chowder is really good and i love there western rodeo burner. i have never ate a bad thing here. it is more on the pricey side but worth it for a good lunch or dinner.
Review Source:Dear Rainier Grill,
I have frequented you often this past year since our move to the little hamlet known as da Claw. Â I have tried and tried to enjoy your food, but i am afraid i have lost my patience with itand the people cooking it. Â It is impossible for certain things on your menu to be tasty and satisfying when they are straight from the freezer section instead of from the hard working family farms in your area. Â
We've tried your burgers, with all the flavour of a frozen Costco burger complete with under cooked burger buns. Â Ordering half a dozen times, i was lucky to get a medium cooked burger once. Â Constancy is everything in a burger joint! Â
We've tried the veggie burgers, oh the horror--those little frozen cakes of "natural ingredients" from the frozen section that are luke warm discs in an under cooked bun by the time they arrive to a customer's table. Â
We've tried your wraps...sadly, they were much more romaine lettuce and a lot less flavourful than what your menu promised, and awful pricey for something who's main filler is a cheap industrially grown leafy green. Â Unbelievably, the chicken wrap i tried had only 6 small pieces of cubed chicken in the whole she-bang! Â I shoulda ordered a salad for that, and saved a couple bucks.
We've tried your fish and chips...those fish went from swimming in water to swimming in grease on our plate. Â
One night, we were really surprised when we tried your special--ribs! Â They were super! Â Unfortunately, there was only one order left when we arrived at 6pm. Â We thought maybe sticking to the specials would win us over, but most times we come in, you are sold out of whatever the offer is well before the end of a shift. Â Must be miserable for the staff when that happens, as half the time they don't even mention a special at all. Â
That said, the people you hire are friendly and moderately attentive on most occasions and there is always a good atmosphere in the place. Â Your bar is stunningly beautiful and reminds one of a saloon you'd see in the southwestern U.S--admiring that bar, you could trick your mind's eye into thinking you see Miss Kitty and Marshall Dillon sitting in the back corner with Doc and Festus.
Hoping someday, dear Rainier, you will adopt a more sustainable local food policy--something like the restaurant Wild Wheat has in downtown Kent. Â You could be making a sheer killing with food fresh from the sustainable farms popping up around here--and therein lies the true support of a local economy (aka just 'cause the food distributor has a WA address, doesn't mean the food from there is fresh and locally produced.)
If customers stick with your beer (caution: Â it will cost you about $5 per pint) and a bowl of your clam chowder or a plate of sweet potato fries (that are really made from yams, but still very tasty!), they will leave a happy satisfied customer. Â
Then they will have room in their tummies to treat themselves to some fine Snoqualmie Ice Cream served up by the ever hospitable Toby, owner of Sweet Necessities
Your truly,
Whit
First of all, anyone who is a bartender and waitress on a busy night and does a kick-ass job of both is worthy of much adulation - I don't remember your name awesome lady with the curly hair, but you rock. Â Great selection of regional beers and warm and lively atmosphere with fun music will momentarily make you forget the shifty hotel you just checked into down the street (you fell for it, didn't you?). Â The fish and chips and burger we ordered were awesome, very tasty, and really made this an all around inviting and convivial place to stop for dinner and some brews in Enumclaw.
Review Source:Wow, I have been here before and thought it was OK, but, went recently and was not very impressed. The wrap I had (tuna) was not very good, and I am not a picky eater. I ate half and brought the other half home. The 2 large deep fried onion rings tasted like what you'd get anywhere else, but, you should get something more appetizing with a wrap. Anyway, when I got home I thought I'd dissect the wrap and what I found was alot of lettuce and RAW tuna, oh my and I had already eaten half of the wrap at the restaurant. Â I am sure I am OK since many eat raw tuna but it's normally at a sushi place. My husband had the special which was a blacken Mahi Mahi and he found many bones in it, for $18.95 and a very small piece of fish he was very disappointed. Again, we are people that are NOT very picky and have Never written a review about a place, but thought this should be noted. The waitress was fine, the drinks were fine, but really, even though not many places to eat in Enumclaw you "The Rainier" should really pay more attention to your food. Â With my family not being the picky kind and finding your place on the D+ list I hope your owner takes a look at our review. Â We do not want a free meal or discount we just want you to take a look at your menu and cooking procedures. Â Did we just order the wrong things???
Thanks for listening.
Took wife & son there last night. Â My wife had an awesome Cantaloup Martini, and I love the beer selection - my son had a great root beer float. Â The appetizers were perfectly prepared - the Ahi was seared perfectly. Â My son & I ordered our burgers cooked medium, and they arrived juicy & correctly cooked. Â They use buns cooked by a local specialty baker - tastes great.
The staff treats us like family. Â Caring, quick, and very responsive to any request. Â Love 'em!
Have to say that the Burger is way too dry despite the price being higher than other restaurant. Had to wash down with beer.
The real sad thing was we waited more than 10 minutes for service while the waitresses were busy saying hi to their local friends all around. People came in the restaurant later than us even get served before us. I guess this restaurant is a little too 'local' for tourists.
One of the best places in Enumclaw. Â Prices on the higher side, but the food is worth it. Â Very busy on the weekends. Â Half Bar and half restaurant and open seating, so maybe not the best atmosphere for young families. Can get loud and boisterous at night. Best Salads in Enumclaw! Service is just OK, as they get very busy and then it's hit or miss.
Review Source:I wish I didnt have to say this as the Ranier had my favorite burger. Â But something changed and the burger quality wasnt the same. Â I could tolerate the prices being so high and the fact the charge an arm and a leg for Kobe beef when there is no real Kobe in the united states we do not import beef from Japan. I also can tolerate the certified wagyu (no such thing, wagyu is Japanese for cow) but the definate change in quality is a killer. I am sad because this was my all time favorite for burgers
Review Source:GREAT Kobe burger (with bacon/blue cheese) and OUT OF THIS WORLD clam chowder. Â Their prices are on par with a place that you wouldn't find in a small town like this one, but the food more then justifies that price. Â Servers are very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Â Bartender makes a very strong martini. Â Parking can be tricky so if you find a spot on the street, take it! Â The Rainier is always packed, and the weekends can be total chaos. Â Even with the parking mess and clusterf**k of people, the food is worth the headache.
Review Source:Easily one of the better places in the Enumclaw area, including Covington, Maple Valley, and Black Diamond. Â It doesn't seem to matter what day of week you go, there will be a five to twenty minute wait for a table - a testament to their food and service I'm thinking. Â The food is great, though we mostly stick with the Kobe Burgers (why mess with a good thing). Â They have a good beer selection, the atmosphere is great, and the kids enjoy it. Â Definite five star.
Review Source:Great Place!- The service staff was friendly and attentive, made excellent recommendations and the food was really tasty. I had a cheeseburger w/fries,my partner had a soup & salad lunch. Cheeseburger was perfect, pink in the middle, gooey cheese and a grilled bun, very generous order of fries.  The soup was chicken  chili with large chunks of chicken breast and clearly made from scratch. The salad was also very generous, chunks  of blue cheese in the dressing also tasted as if freshly made. Reccomend - especially after a day of skiing.
Review Source:Great atmosphere. Good panini sandwich. Great fries.
Warning if you are  burger aficionado...
Strangest thing. They don't know how to cook their burgers. They never get the doneness right, they don't melt the cheese(!!), and the buns are, well, almost raw. Strangest thing...especially when you are paying $14 for a Kobe burger.
I thought it must be a mistake...but the second time, it was the exact same.
Next time, I will ask them to put it on the panini press, that should solve the cheese melt and the raw bun.
The doneness is just a spin of the wheel!
This is a great place in Enumclaw. They have the best staff!! I love the Southwest Black Bean Burger with sweet potato fries! They have a great Friday dinner special of prime rib that is always a good go to meal.
There cocktails are strong, but yummy! They have a great selection of martini's and you can't go wrong with any of them. This place get's super busy on the weekends so there might be a wait time, but people seem to understand so I never wait for very long to get a seat.
My fiance and I stopped here on our way back from skiing so we were just passing through. Â It had a great "bar" feel to it and from the black and white photos on the wall, it looked like a great history as well. Â We really liked the feel of the place. Â The menu had a huge selection and we had a hard time choosing. Â Great variety of burgers, sandwiches and classic bar entrees. Â We went with a couple of the 1/2 lbs burgers. Â They were huge but they were really overcooked. Â We weren't asked how we wanted them cooked but they were about an inch think and cooked well all the way through. Â This left them dry and tasteless. Â There were enough other toppings to make the burgers enjoyable but overall they were a big disappointment. Â The service wasn't great, but wasn't particularly bad either. Â The Seahawks game was starting so the place was full so I give them the benefit of the doubt. Â Excellent selection of beer on tap (about 10-15 taps). Â We really wanted to like this place but our entrees were disappointing. Â We would go back again to give it another try as there were lots of things other than burgers that sounded really good.
Review Source:After all the great reviews on Yelp had to check this place out.  Took the little one and met my brother and sis-in-law for dinner here on a Saturday night - they place was PACKED (good sign).  Got seated in about 10 minutes.  Our salads were great!  My X Martini  ($8) was eXcellent (could have drank 1/2 dozen but had to drive, so only 1).  Ordered the prime rib - the 8 oz was $17.99 (and it seemed pretty small) was just ok at best (it was very chewy and I ended up throwing it away later cause it was inedible).  The horseradish sauce had no kick at all and the au jus was PURE salt (yes, it should be salty but this was like a salt lick).  The loaded baked potatoe was just ok and the sour cream was weird tasting.  Our waitress was really good.
Would I go back? Â Maybe, for a drink and aKobe burger....
The fact that the Lee has better ratings than the Rainier is quite scary although I haven't been to the Lee in a while. The Rainier is officially my new favorite place in the Claw. Mostly because of the beers they have on tap but their food was also great. I had the soup and salad lunch and the clam chowder was excellent. That with a Mac & Jack and a Lagunitus and I'm a happy guy. My mom had the Kobe burger and said it was amazing...although she liked Waterworld so take that how you want to. The waitress was very knowledgable and attentive and the setting was quite comfortable. The upgrades they did here a few years back was very well done but the Ski Inn now has the dive bar market cornered in Enumclaw. I'll be back as often as possible.
Review Source:I have only recently started enjoying all that this place has to offer! From appetizers to dessert and drinks in between I have never had an issue here and everything is fantastic. My only complaint would be  with the venue itself it gets so busy that it can get crowded while wait for table, but in all its oh so very worth it.
Review Source:This place was my favorite but the last 3 time I went the food was undercooked and the steaks didn't seem to be as high a quality as they once were. Even the burgers have suffered. I sent a burger back because it was RAW and I had ordered it medium rare. I know the difference. When it returned it was cremated! I mean NO JUICE LEFT, BLACK, HARD, I guess the cooks don't like to be questioned. Anyway I couldn't and didn't eat it. It was taken off my bill but I have not been back since. I've lost trust.
Review Source:I was pleasantly surprised by this cool old pub with great food out in the middle of nowhere/farmland WA. Â Admittedly, I am a Northern Cali "foodie"...so the expectations were not high. HOWEVER....everything about this little "hole-in-the-wall" was stellar from the great local beers on tap (love that Mac & Jac's African Amber) to the friendly/prompt service by our waitress, to the prices/portions/food! Â Awesome! Â Granted, this place seems to be known for its RED MEAT dishes (and yes, they use KOBE beef!) and I did see plenty of those pass by our table, but since we had sat in our car most of the day AND had a big lunch at Full Sail Brewery (that is another review) in Hood River, we opted for a couple of pints and 2 salads with grilled fish atop. Â HUGE SALADS and we could not finish them, but fresh fish, cooked properly and NO ICEBERG LETTUCE! Â Yeah! Â If I am ever back this way again, I would definitely return! I have to say that we also enjoyed the old photos on the wall and the true pub feel.

Yes! Vengeance is almost like Tums! I must write a one star review and whine about it on the Internet!

My husband and I just came down from driving my visiting parents around Rainier and we were all pretty hungry. Â I found this place using the Yelp app on my iPhone.
We were all very happy. Â My husband and I had cheeseburgers, my dad got the cod fish and chips, mom got the chicken fingers. Â Dad said the fish was great and the chips were nicely seasoned. Â Mom enjoyed her breaded chicken fingers. Â She said they were easy on her tummy. Â I had the Western BBQ Burger which was lovely. Â It was huge. Â I had a very hard time getting my first bite and there was enough BBQ sauce that if I wasn't careful I would've worn it all. Â It was a very yummy burger that I couldn't set down until I finished it because the sauce made a big puddle on my plate. Â Since they were out of sweet potato fries I got the side salad. Â The side salad consisted of lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and dressing of your choice. Â It was lovely. Â It really hit the spot. Â The BBQ sauce was surprisingly sweet, but pleasant. Â My husband started with the hot wings. Â He said the hot wings were lightly breaded and had a nice solid Frank's RedHot flavor. Â For dinner he got the bacon blue cheeseburger. Â He said the burger was great except it was calling for more sauce. Â He wasn't sure if there was some kind of mayo or what but he just used his leftover blue cheese dressing from his side salad on his burger and it was excellent.
We had a great experience at Rainier Bar & Grill. Â I'm sure my husband and I will go back to visit again. Â It was wonderful to have some good American food for my visiting folks. Â They aren't used to the variety of cuisines we have in Seattle, and really appreciated the break.
We stopped into the Rainier Bar and Grill on the way to our weekend camping trip at Mt. Rainier. We immediately found seats at the bar and began looking over the tap handles. We were certainly impressed for being so far away from Seattle.
Everyone found a beer to enjoy and then we ordered some clam chowder which was amazing. We then enjoyed their cheese burgers with sweet potato fries. While we didn't get the Kobe burgers, which I guess they are pretty well known by (according to the locals), we thought the burgers were top notch. We'll definitely be back here in the winter when we travel to/from skiing Crystal Mountain. The service was great and so was the food!
Went for dinner with my dad, it was rib night and he REALLY fancies their ribs.  I  had the BBQ chicken wrap, (very good. Their BBQ sauce is really tasty and the wrap itself was soft and worked well as a holder for the chicken and vegis)  and obviously my  dad had the ribs( he thought they were as good as ever). I was REALLY hungry and that may have someting to do with how good I thought it was but it was just a real good dinner. The service as always was subperb and the atmosphere was lively and fun as per usual.
Review Source:I echo the comment of the previous reviewers, definitely best of Enumclaw. The restaurant was busy during lunch hour and had significantly more traffic than the three other places that I went to this week for lunch. In this economy, I believe that's a testament to the quality of food served. The menu has standard bar and grill food with burgers, wraps, salad, and fried items. However, the execution of these mundane items was excellent. The halibut with sweet potato fries was very nicely battered. Â I wanted the tried the lunch special grilled halibut but it was out by 12:30~again showing the popularity of this restaurant.
Review Source:For all you skiers out there, or any who visit Mount Rainier, this is a great dinner stop on your way home to Seattle or the North Sound region.
This is a palace of meat, but they do have some vegetarian options. Their burgers are 1/2 lb. of yummy meat (buffalo or beef), plus fabulous bacon, bleu cheese, you name it, they have it. Be careful to tell them how you want your burger cooked or it will come done. Our table was lulled into silence by the burgers we had.
The fries are actual cut-up potatoes, nicely crisp with a seasoning salt.
They also offer a wonderful steak wrap, cooked to order, with to-die-for onion rings, just 2 per order. You don't need more than 2, they are big but beautifully prepared and not obscene.
If meat isn't your thing, they also have fish, salads, chicken--the whole shebang, and all prepared with much thought and care.
This isn't some ol' backwater bar and grill, they know food here, and the locals know it too. So be sure to come early (like 5:30), call ahead or be prepared for a wait. It was crowded on a Tuesday evening, and by 7pm there were people waiting outside.
