Awesome burger and fries in a neat little house!  The beef was local and ASH free, the fries were from real potatoes, and a good selection of microbrews and sodas. I had a burger with the spicy cheese that was absolutely melt in your mouth. Free wifi and a great spot to come after a day outside. The burritos were huge and are on my list to try next. Definitely worth a trip back.

The service was super fast! I had a cheeseburger and fries. The cheeseburger was excellent but the fries were soggy and greasy and they didn't taste very good. There wasn't much to choose from on the menu. You were either getting a burger, burrito, or taco. Also, the hours listed for the restaurant are not correct. They don't open until 3PM six out of seven days of the week!!!

Is that a mirage I see??  Nope it's real!!  Out here in the woods of Kentucky!  What a jewel!

OK, were not talking about a fancy 5 start gourmet restaurant with condescending waiters ready to sweep your table after each course, but let me tell you - this place is as good as it gets out in these woods!!  We spent most of our vacation eating here.  We tried a few other places in the area, but nothing compared.  Nothing even came remotely close!!

Local farm fresh food, simple flavors, made to order, veggie options, and friendly service.  If that doesn't keep you coming back, I'm not sure what would.  OH YEAH - they have BEER.  Did you read that - yep you did - THEY HAVE BEER!!!  Some people might say, Oh big deal - but in the dry counties around believe me IT IS!!

The owner is very welcoming and made sure everything was to our liking.  Even on a SUPER busy night (I'm talking major line out of the door here) over memorial weekend - they did their best to keep us subdued with fries and such till our order could be made.

He even talked this veggie gal into eating an order of his fish tacos - and let me tell you, they were AWESOME!  Well worth the cheat ;)  I also had made to order breakfast burritos each day and even though they were busy that weekend, each one was made exactly as I asked.  I tried the veggie burger a few nights in a row with different toppings - very good for sure.  Also recommend the kale salad!!  You should save room for the carrot cake too - so worth every single lickable calorie!

They do have specials each night and for brunch, and I suggest you try them.  A lot of love goes into their food for sure!  They have free Wifi too and the place is super cute inside!

Do yourself a favor and check this place out.  You can thank me later ;)
Thanks RRR for making our vacation a little tastier!!

*hint hint - hoping for in the future
    - more amazing veggie options
    - fries cooked like they were when you were super busy - they were cooked just right.  Slightly over cooked on the slower nights.

Awesome place with a cool, laid back atmosphere. I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was great! My wife had the chicken burrito (I had to eat some off it because it was huge) and she loved it. If you're in the area, stop in. You won't be disappointed.

What a great place to find in what should be the middle of nowhere with only a pancake house and your cooler, nearby.

We both special ordered the breakfast burrito and it all came out correct, on time, and delicious!  It was Memorial Day weekend at 8:45 (they just opened) and they were packed so I'm very impressed.

The breakfast burrito was good-sized and stuffed with eggs, black beans, potatoes, peppers, onions, spinach, and your choice of red or green chile sauce.  Just the thing for campers, hikers, and rockclimbers about to start a long day!  STRONG coffee and fresh oj topped us off.

The atmosphere is cute, clean, great music playing overhead and not too loud.  We played a little Scrabble from a collection of available games while we waited.  We will be back again any time we're nearby!

Loved the blueberry pancakes and the music selection. The workers all had a great attitude as well. Lots of natural lighting. A great stray to any morning at Natural Bridge NP.

I will sound a familiar Yelp refrain in stating that I "really wanted to like this place," but a couple of drawbacks prevented me from doing so wholeheartedly.

On a lonely stretch of Highway 11 a few miles south of Natural Bridge State Park, the Red River Rockhouse has charm to spare.  From the road, it looks like it might be a rough-and-tough roadhouse, which might have been great in its own right (and which it might have in fact been at one time).  But inside is a relaxed little cafe with minimalistic, natural, almost Nordic decor.  The small-ish menu features simple, inexpensive, appealing items (burgers, sandwiches, etc.) prepared with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, and there is a surprisingly good beer list (the Rockhouse is just over the Wolfe County line from dry Powell County, home to the state park and Red River Gorge).

But despite the best intentions of the owners, there were some rough spots here.  The service was quite friendly, but the wait for our very simple food was absurdly long.  Even though the restaurant was only about half full, it took more than a half-hour for our orders to come out.  I'm not lying when I say that it looked as though the kitchen was sending out only two plates of food every five minutes.

As for the food itself, it did seem very fresh.  The braised pork in my tacos was delicious--well-seasoned and juicy--but the corn tortillas immediately broke in half, apparently because they weren't griddled or otherwise heated, so I was left with a basket full of busted-up tortillas to fork-and-knife my way through.  The wife reported that her veggie burrito was only OK--filled with fresh ingredients, but a little lackluster.  We also had an order of sweet-potato fries; they were quite good.

I can see that the Red River Rockhouse could warrant these five-star reviews on a given night, but it unfortunately did not on the night we were there.

We will be back the next time we are at the Gorge, though.

This is a great escape from the dirtbag scene at Miguel's and they have BEER!

We came here twice during our trip to the Red last month. Great burgers, fries, and carrot cake! Oh man, the carrot cake was so good. We had to get another slice to share. They have PBR on draft.

A must if you're in the area and a perfect place to unwind after a day at the crag.

After being to the Red River Gorge to climb several times and also being a total foodie, prior to the RRR being here, the food options in Slade were pretty dismal. Yes, there's Miguel's, which is awesome in it's own right, but there were times when I was simply in the mood for a nice, juicy burger or some comfort food and a nice, cold beer.

RRR totally has got you covered, and you definitely can't argue with the fact that they go for organic, locally sourced foods whenever they can. For breakfast, you can't beat the porktato pancakes (amazerful! try it with guac!) and the tacos are pretty good too (go for soft, the hard tacos kinda fall apart). Lasty, the carrot cake & brownies are just to DIE for...they will forever be in my dreams haha! Check it out, this place is the good stuff.

This is one rustic and cozy cafe on the road in Wolfe county. My friends and I dropped by this place today and I really liked it. It is friendly and comfortable. The staff are very warm and helpful. My friend, Jamar, ordered a beef sandwich and he was amazed by the its size and how delicious it was. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the prices are moderate. By the way, they have different kinds of beer.

This restaurant provides a rustic and authentic experience right in the heart of Natural Bridge State Park.  With a wonderful tea selection and fantastic burritos this is a good stop to get some food and drink in Natural Bridge.  The staff is top notch by not only being personable but providing quality and consistent service.  The Red River Rockhouse provides an authentic touch that you cannot receive at any ole chain restaurant.  The prices did seem a bit high to me but the portions were pretty big, so you are getting what you pay for.  If you are in this area definitely consider trying this place out!

Ok so once again I have discovered another place high in the mountains where you can gorge yourself with great food, great service, as well as low prices. The place is situated in the Natural Bridge/Red River area...which is great since it can help nourish those hikers, climbers, kayakers, and anybody else back to health with their huge portions of good food after a long day. Red River has a pretty good selection of food to choose from: burritos, burgers, and other tasty treats.

I ordered a mammoth beef burrito( you can get chicken or pork) full of a bunch of ingredients which can satisfy even the hungriest appetite, including mine. Meals are prepared right in front of you on the grills which is a pretty neat touch since you can actually carry on your conversation with the cooks/workers...which again is awesome since you can get into some deep convos with these guys. Give this place a shot and don't pass it up or you will regret it.

Red River Rockhouse is an adorable, rustic, family friendly restaurant located in the heart of the gorge.  Quite a great find after a strenuous day of climbing to relax and refuel.  They offer local & farm fresh American food that will give you the energy you need.  They are sustainable and super environmentally friendly, so you can feel good supporting them!

Food:  A twist on all the American favorites.  Local and organic ingredients used whenever possible. Menu items such as pork/potato pancakes, omelet's, chipotle burritos, grass fed burgers with shitake mushrooms, tacos, and chips and guacamole to name a few.  Tons of options, and plenty that are kid friendly!

Drinks: Soda, Izze sparkling juice, draft and bottled beers

Service:  This is a place where you can visit once and already feel like a regular.  The staff is extremely friendly, attentive, and has super quick service.  Perfect for a hungry bunch of climbers!

Ambiance: Rockhouse is a charming restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating options.  The décor is rustic with a unique twist - local photographer prints of nature line the walls, and each table and chairs is a little different than the next.  The uniqueness gives it a truly warm and homey feeling, rather than a cookie cutter restaurant.   It's also a nice spot to meet other people who also enjoy the outdoors and exchange stories!

Definitely a must try hotspot for any climbers in the area! I promise you will leave feeling strong, healthy, full, and happy (especially knowing all the ingredients are quality and the restaurant is sustainable!)
