Another basketball game, another Sports Bar. Â We were in Kalispel, MT looking for a place to watch one of the playoff games, and one of the locals suggested Red's Roost. Â It was within walking distance of our hotel, so off we went.
We found it, we thought, Â without any trouble. Â It was a nice bar built in an old mercantile building. Brick walls, wood floors, a beautiful back bar, plenty of seating, one large projection TV, and a smaller wide screen. Â We thought for a sports bar there weren't very many TV's, but they had the necessary beer and wine, so we were set. Â The bartender was friendly, but it wasn't very crowded, and the people didn't seem to interested in the game. Â We thought, well this is Montana, maybe they don't like to watch sports.
The next night we went back, and there was hardly anyone there. Â We asked the bartender where everyone was and he said "oh, in the Sports Bar". Â WTF? Â It turned out there was another bar in the same building, with the same name, owned by the same people, that was the actual Sports Bar. Â You had to walk through a narrow hallway, past the restrooms, and there it was - multiple flat screen TV's, people, food and beverages. Â After looking around, we went back to the first Red's Roost - wasn't quite as loud, and we didn't want to move our drinks into the "real" Sports bar. Â
Both bars are recommended. Nice places to watch TV, and friendly servers. Â And you get your choice of where you want to watch your game. Â Just don't forget to check both of them out.
