Reilly's Irish Pub And Resturant

Why did I not check the other Yelp reviews before wasting $40 on dinner at this restaurant (and I use the term restaurant very lightly).  Where to start?  The frozen but slightly defrosted Irish Soda bread they served?  Or the salad that came with dressing in a little to go container?  Or the corned beef that was way more brown than pink because it's been reheated possibly more than once?  Or the fried chicken with pieces so small that I can't comprehend where they found chickens that small?  Or the servers that have no clue when you ask them a question about the dishes?  Everything about this place is awful.  It's a shame because someone spent a lot of money renovating this place.  Not for me, I'll never go back!

Went here for lunch on Friday afternoon. Shouldn't have.

Upon walking in, I was struck by something of a galleria feel. There's sort of a lobby area, where you can apparently go left into the restaurant, or right into the bar; those who know me know which direction I went.

When it comes to Irish pubs, I have, in all likelihood, been to more of them than you. I have been to them up and down both coasts, some areas in between, in parts of Europe, and yes, in Ireland. I may not be an expert on Irish pubs, but I do know what to expect from an Irish pub. That having been said, Reilly's is no Irish pub. Just because you put "Irish Pub" in your name does not make it so.

The bar area is, for lack of a better word, cavernous. Lots and lots of empty floor space (which was covered by some sort of white flooring). Large windows allow ample sunlight to flow through and illuminate the bar's overall starkness. It looks and feels more like the showroom at a Ford dealership than an Irish pub. There isn't a splinter of rich, dark wood to be found in the place.

I started with a "Reilly's Irish Lager." Seriously, Reilly's? This was about the closest thing to a Coors that I could have tried. It was not good, and there was nothing Irish about it. For my next beer, I had a Stella Artois.

For food, I had the sliders and fries. The fries were actually thick slices of deep-fried potatoes (think REALLY thick potato chips), that were not quite cooked all the way through. It was an interesting idea, but it fell short. As for the sliders, the bun was good, but the previously-frozen meat patties were completely devoid of flavor. Completely. Half-way through the second slider, I asked myself why I was still eating them, and when I couldn't come up with a convincing argument, I stopped.

The service from the bartendress was friendly, but she seemed as if she would have been more at home at the Fireside Lounge (a serious dive bar) than at an "Irish pub."

Unless they change the name to Reilly's Sports Pub, throw some sports memorabilia around, and start putting some effort into the food, I will have no reason to return.

Just opened at new location.  I've been to the previous two location and this one looks first rate.  Took my family there to check them out.  We had their appetizer sampler plate.  Everything was made fresh with lots of taste.  The beers were cold and reasonably priced.  We plan to come back for dinner or lunch and try the Irish plates.  Finally, a good Irish pub and restaurant has returned.
