Heading south on 75 decided to stop for dinner at 6 p.m. on July 22, 2013.  Sat down and ordered our drinks.  When the waitress brought them she informed us they were out of brisket and out of ribs.  Nothing left to do but walk out.

Overall great experience.  Very friendly staff, clean restaurant and restrooms.  Perfect for the weary traveler looking for something other than fast food.  BBQ sauces are delicious.  Pulled pork and ribs were excellent.  Cole slaw has pickles, but interesting.  They were out of the stew, but I will try it next time.  Bookmarked the location to remember next time we head out on I75 to or from Jacksonville.

    What a meal!

I judge competitive BBQ as a hobby (certified to judge by 3 Sanctioning bodies).  I've given up on eating BBQ in restaurants because I've been spoiled by the love that Pit Masters lay onto their product at competitions.

I'd heard raves by friends about how good everything at Rescue Smokehouse is for over a year.  Finally, work took me by Ashburn at meal time.  (the Restaurant is 9/10ths of a mile off of I-75).  After a year of build up and hype I ate Restaurant BBQ for the first time in over 3 years.  When I got there I refused to order and I asked the Pit Master  to give me what's good and boy did he ever!

I had the best jalapeno poppers I've ever had.  They were great!  grilled with bacon and cheese if you like poppers these have to be part of your order.

The delicately smoked brisket had a great smoke ring and miracle of retail BBQ miracles it was both tender and moist!  When I asked, I was told that it was sliced sliced Ashburn style because that is the way the locals like it sliced. They may be onto something because it plated well and ate just fine.  The brisket was competition quality.........at a restaurant - that's incredible

More amazing than the brisket was that the restaurant ribs at Rescue Smokehouse were served with with competition tug!  Lots of people like "Fall-off the bone" ribs because other BBQ places over-cook them that way and tell you that is the way you are supposed to like them (truth be told, I'll eat 'em that way to as long as they are moist).  Remember that "love I was talking about earlier - at Rescue Smokehouse they deliver BB love with the tenderness of the ribs.  The taste of the ribs was good and designed to appeal to the masses you will love them.

I laughed at myself when I considered the quality of the meat that I was served and realized that I'd finished my baked beans first.  They were just that damn good.  Both sauces were great, I liked the vinegar sauce the best.

After all of the raving everyone had been doing and over a year of anticipation, Rescue Smokehouse is spot on! It is the closest I've had to competition BBQ in a restaurant.  It will be the best you've had.

I stopped here based on other Yelp reviews and was very pleased with the BBQ. Got the ribs and pulled pork combo. Both were smoked and not cooked or dressed in sauce. Two sauces were available: Original and Vinegar. I prefer vinegar sauces and preferred theirs over the original as well, but the original had a very unique flavor and was also good. The stew is the chunky style common to mid and South Georgia but with big chunks of meat. Fries were standard crinkle cut. Might try the Mac and cheese next time. Service was good and the place was full of cops eating lunch, which is nearly always the sign of a good place. Recommended.

Darn good Mac and cheese. I had ribs and Mac and cheese for lunch. Wonderful. Son has BBQ nachos which were Ok. Hubby had the burger which looked amazing. I don't do chains when in the road and this was in a depressed shopping center but just around the corner from another local joint. This was very good and so reasonable.

We stopped here on our way back to the ATL, it's just off 75 and easy to find. After 2 weeks of seafood in Florida, we were ready for some good pulled pork. This place was wonderful. We both had the very large, moist, perfectly smoked, pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans.  Terrific.  Stop here and skip all the fast food restaurants you see.  This was great food and a great value.

Traveling back to Illinois through Georgia and wanted true Georgia BBQ.  Found it here.  Real nice people and great pulled pork.  Nice smoke ring, moist and great flavor.  Couldn't decide on which sauce, the traditional vinegar or the sweet.  Both were great.  Had a side of beans that also were top notch.  Cobbler for dessert, couldn't have been better.   Good luck in your competitions!  Looks like you have won many trophy's!!
