Pretty good but definitely not authentic Mexican, or even Tex Mex. Service was nice and food came very quickly! I would compare the food to Mexican Villa in Springfield so if you like that place then you'll probably like Ricardos as well. Â I did like their new location off the square.
Review Source:How do you call this mexican food? I ordered a beef burritto and got a tortilla filled with chili and topped with chili, sorry folks thats not a beef burritto. My Wife ordered a taco and she got a pita filled with chili, again sorry folks pita does not equal mexican food. They need to change the name to Richards snack bar, thats about the quality of the food. I do have the say the service was excellent but I still cant give it more than 2 stars because the food is horrible. Here's a start http://tinyurl.com/286xp…
Sorry to have such harsh criticism but I am from california and know what real mexican food is supposed to taste like.
Excellent food, friendly service! Â A small, privately-owned restaurant with very loyal clientele, recently changed management when the former server bought out the owner-and-cook. Â Cindy has made a few changes but the food is as good as ever (and I'm picky!) and added some menu items. Â The best thing ever is when you walk in and they have your drinks ready before you even pick a table, just because they REMEMBER you.
And, because the food is prepared right here and not from mixes or pre-packaged heat-and-serve kits, they know what's in it -- important if you have food allergies as so many do.
