We walked up and down all of Alexandria bay and this looked like it had the most Vegan friendly options, along with having the best meat eater options. Our food was both delicious. I had a veggie pasta that had a bit too much oil (what restaurant doesn't do that these days) but had delicious veggies.
The bread they served with dinner had parmesan on it which made it smell amazing, but made it so I couldn't eat it. My boyfriend enjoyed the rolls for me though.
The wine was reasonably priced and delicious.
Couldn't really ask for anything more from a restaurant, good quick service, delicious food, clean, great atmosphere. right on the bay. (Yes we watched the sunset all romantic like during dinner).
Our family's been vacationing in this area for over 10 years and have always had trouble agreeing on a restaurant - there are now 8 adults and 2 children and none of us has the same definition of "good food" or "good atmosphere" and someone always walks away disappointed. Until now :-)
We went here for dinner on a Friday night and even with our large group with no reservations (always a risk!) we were seated within 15 minutes of arriving. Normally, I'd consider that a red flag on a Friday night, but was happy to be wrong on this occassion!
So - PROS:
FOOD: I had the Pork Tenderloin in Madeira sauce w/ mashed potatoes. Delicious! I hadn't planned to get more than a sandwich as I'm usually disappointed with the food I've had in Alex Bay but thought I'd go out on a limb and I'm glad I did!
Most of the rest of our party ordered the fish fry and were very happy with their meals as well. My husband ordered and enjoyed the grilled chicken panini, my mom loved her Cobb salad and my sister-in-law said her salmon was excellent. I was even happy with the kids' meals - usually they are so typical I don't bother reviewing but for $6.25, they got drink, meal w/ side & a fruit snack dessert and they ate all of everything and the meal actually looked appetizing (grilled cheese and chicken fingers).
ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is clean and decorated with a modern, dark wood decor. It did seem a little loud like some other reviews I've read but wasn't unpleasant. We had a nice view of the docks and channel and that kept my boys' busy while we waited for our food.
SERVICE: Our server was very friendly, attentive and got all of our orders completely accurate. Our courses all came our quickly and we didn't wait long for anything, including refills. One thing to note - although the menu and website warn of 18% gratuity being added directly to your bill, our server did not do this and most of our group had left after paying the bill, not realizing they were stiffing the server. Thankfully, she noticed and said something to me (I was the last one out, gathering the kids' stuff) and I took care of it - she was embarrassed to ask but I'm glad she did!
PRICE: Their menu seemed to be right on-par with the touristy prices we're used to paying in the Clayton/Alex Bay area and even a little on the low end! We were happy with that!
OVERALL: We will absolutely be back next year! Something on the menu for all of us, reasonable prices and serving sizes, great service and cleanliness to top it off :-)
