This could be a nice track and experience -- if the owners would put money into managing the weeds, clover, high Bermuda, and awful tee blocks. More importantly, for a location along the river, almost identical to the kind of conditions found at the far-better managed Teal Bend, this place is virtually a preserve for every mosquito on earth. All times of day. Â They've created lots of standing water lakes and ponds with no movement features, such as found or aeration -- what sense does THAT make in a mosquito haven? Â Worse, unlike Teal or other mosquito-challenged courses, they don't warn you, provide any repellant, or seem to care about addressing what they can in the conditions. I played one round with double layers of repellant midday and came home with 27 bites. Just waiting to see if I get West Nile.
Review Source:I played this course twice back to back from one week to the next and have to say that this course is in horrible shape. I don't know what happened in the past year, but it has gone way done. The forward tee boxes have not been mowed in forever and the rough is so tall that it is impossible to get out of it. I can't believe that they want to charge $35 to play when you can just play at much better courses in the Roseville or Sacramento that would put this course to shame! Don't waste your time or money!!!
Review Source:Golfed here for the first time in two years with The Pacific Islander Golf Club! Had my best score in two years also. Always golfed well on this course. I used to golf here quite often as it is only 20 minutes from my house. There's a lot of crabgrass on and off the fairways. Beware of mucho mosquitos in the early morning and evening hours. Bring repellant.
