Let me start by saying one of the things I look forward to most when visiting family in Sparta is eating at River Rock. With all the restaurant selections closer to home (Charlotte, NC) I still yearn for River Rock!
I have yet to eat anything from the menu that wasn't absolutely wonderful. Man Dip - awesome... Black 'n Bleu Burger - to die for... Roasted Turkey BLT - please sir may I have another... Peel & Eat Shrimp - just as good as in Florida... and the Steamed Crab Legs - the absolute best I've ever had. Cross my heart!
River Rock also has a full service bar, a wonderful wine list and a great beer selection (all bottles though, nothing on tap). The service, like everything else in Sparta, is friendly and delivered with a personal touch. The staff is simply fantastic.
Now wait, I'm not done... there's more! When your finished eating head next door (you don't even have to go outside - the buildings are "connected at the hip") to shoot a game of pool or enjoy some disco bowling. That's right! The restaurant is an extension of the Sparta Family Fun Center. I love it!
Honestly, I think those Spartans must be trying to keep this place their own little secret. I can't believe it hasn't landed on Food Network's "Diners, Drive In and Dives" yet.
If your in the area - stop by. If your not - break out the map and get there quick. You won't be disappointed.
