This was a delightful place to relax eat and drink.

My brother ate there a couple of years ago and had lunch and said it was pretty good.  So we thought we would give it a try.  We were greeted and told to grab a table.   It was becoming dusk and as I walked to a table I tripped over a stack of table umbrellas that were laying on the ground.  Sat down and ordered.  Ceasar salad came wilted with soggy croutons.  Reordered a different salad.  My salmon and shrimp were overcooked and too much teriyaki sauce.  The outdoor eating area looked as though the place wasn't even open for business.   Outdoor fountain had garbage and grounds in great need of cleaning.  Server was kind enough to give us a 20% discount.

Our server was great.  She was a thin tall blonde girl who was one of the floor managers.  However the owner or the higher up manager was gossiping to some gentleman off to the side.  We were the only people eating inside, but she should learn to gossip a little quieter, because we were there on a business lunch deciding if we wanted to have our company dinner there.  We really didn't want to hear negative talk while trying to enjoy our lunch.  Doesn't make her look to good or the restaurant.  Even our waitress apologized.  The breakfast was okay.  Nothing too special.  Lunch was okay.  Nothing too special.  Average place, but I heard the buffet was good.

I was upset to find out the old Rock Garden closed, but the old owners are back and so is the great breakfast.  Nothing creative but good breakfast basics. Service wasn't stellar, but wouldn't say it was bad either.  If you haven't been here recently it's worth another try.

Service: slow to non-existent. Pastrami sandwich: meat was grilled and dry, along with the cheese. Not too bad, but I was expecting fresh pastrami not grilled to dry it out. Wifey had flat bread with cheese and "seafood". Well itty-bitty brine shrimp and tiny cheap scallops (the cheapest you can find, so small and tiny little balls) don't qualify to be sold as bona fide seafood, not when you are charging $10 for this crap. Pastrami was also $10. Needlesss to say, not a value, not a great experience, not again. Everything on the menu were priced $9 and up, the owner probably is in a "get rich quick" mode, thinking they can do it with the crap they serve. Generic balnd flavor. We stopped here only because we had been there maybe 3 or more years ago, and then it was at least a 3.

Do yourself a favor. There's a reason this place is rated low. Bad service. Go somewhere else. Yes it may be in Palm Springs but it sure isn't high quality.

What a sad surprise.  We were out on Sunday looking for breakfast or lunch at a new restaurant as we've only lived in Palm Springs a month.  We had seen the beautiful patio at the Rock Garden so decided to stop.  Sitting outside on a beautiful day with live entertainment (Jazz singer on the patio), we thought we had found our new Sunday spot.  It was about 1:30pm and the patio was half full - everything was going great then....  It was confusing when walking up as you didn't know where to check in so we asked the outside waitress and she said you have to go inside.  Okay, we go inside and an older woman (maybe Russian) said you want an outside table just go outside.  We obeyed and sat down and then waited - no silverware, no menus, no service.  Finally, we see the same older woman coming outside with 2 guests seating them with menus.  Did we miss something?  As we see her, we ask for menus and she gives us the menus she had in her hand.

We then finally have a male waiter come to the table and I'm thrilled because we have been watching two women waitresses walking around in circles.  He gets our drinks quickly and we order, mine was a Marine salad which is a crab and shrimp salad, my friend orders chorizo and eggs.  There is no bread delivered so we just wait for about 20 or more minutes listening to the great jazz singer.  Finally, the lunch arrives and my salad is "immitation crab" and "tiny frozen shrimp" with absolutely no taste.  I confirmed with the waiter that the crab was immitation and he very kindly asks if I want to change my dish.  He told me he could get me real crab as they have it in a "can" but they are out of it.  The rest of the salad was very bland and the bread served with it was merely a dinner roll cut in half with cheese melted on it.  My friends lunch was fine - not exceptional.

This restaurant misses a huge opportunity of having regular customers that could be packing it - especially with a beautiful patio and Jazz singer. Basically we would have been a regular Sunday customer - but now won't be back.

I've never written a negative review before; I really do believe in celebrating the positive instead of harping on the negative. However, I'll try to write this as a wake-up call to the management of The Rock Garden Bar and Grill, hoping they read this and take it to heart.

My friend and I, in town from LA, were out biking on Sunday morning, looking for a place to eat breakfast. "Let's go there!" I said.  "I came here with my husband's family 10 years ago, and it was great!"

What a difference a decade makes...

We walked in to find a line of people waiting to be seated, even though there was an entire section of tables (inside and outside), sitting empty. I was told, "You can't sit there, the girl who has this station didn't come in."

    Ok.

We waited for a table and were seated in the middle of the beautiful courtyard, next to a rock  pond and palm trees. There was a singer, tastefully covering Cole Porter and some bossa novas.  The sound level was perfect and soothing. So far, so good.

After a full 15 minutes, our waitress stopped by and we placed our order - 2 egg breakfasts, 2 coffees and 2 mimosas.  After about 10 minutes, our coffee appeared, and then the waitress disappeared.  We sat there drinking our coffee for over 1/2 an hour, and I know this because the hot sun had moved enough for me to physically relocate to the other side of the table.

Staring at our empty coffee cups (we were never offered a refill), we both wondered aloud, "Could we at least get our mimosas?"

I flagged the waitress down and called to her (3 tables away), "Do you think we could have our mimosas?"

She showed up with two glasses of orange juice and 2 mini bottles of sparkling wine (I guess this was the "mix-it-yourself" version), saying,   "My bad, I totally forgot you ordered these."

Another 1/2 hour later, our food was brought out by a male server.  My eggs were cold, and my friend's turkey sausage was definitely not turkey.  By this time, we were so hungry, it almost didn't matter.  But I can't eat cold eggs.

The waitress was nowhere to be found.  Knowing we were running out of time (we needed to return the rental bikes), I carried my plate of cold eggs to an older Russian woman I assumed was the owner.  I told her my eggs  were cold.

10 minutes later, the Russian lady returned with the plate, saying something to the effect of,  " Here you go, I don't  feel well and I don't want to be here, but I have to be here...so here I am"  and then handed me a plate of 10 eggs.

I'm not kidding. There were 10 eggs.  Which I'm hoping she didn't cough on.

My friend did enjoy her sausage (even though it wasn't the turkey she ordered), my bisquit and gravy were delicious, and the fruit was fine. The eggs were ok. I was so hungry at that point, I almost ate the entire plate.

By now, we'd been in this cafe for 2 hours, and we needed our check. I hadn't seen the waitress since she delivered our mix-it-yourself mimosas.  I saw the waitress from afar, flagged her down, and asked for the check.  She brought the check, but never returned to retrieve it.  Exasperated, I flagged her down again, and she said (in a rather hostile manner), "Oh, you can take your ticket to the register, but if you want me to do it, ok..."

Register? What register? There was no register in sight. No one mentioned anything about a register.

She took the ticket inside and did not return. We waited for an additional 10 minutes.

We then realized that, apparently (I THINK - I'm still not sure), we were supposed to take our ticket inside, to the non-visible register, and pay for our meal there.

At any rate, the waitress did not communicate with us at all after this point.  My friend and I were so stunned, all we could do at this point was laugh.

Somebody different, realizing we hadn't come to the register, brought us our ticket.

As we headed to our rental bikes, I did go inside to have a moment with someone in management. I found another harried woman at the inside register tabulating tickets. I apologetically told her that this was hands down the worst service I'd ever experienced.

Without looking up, she nodded her head and said "I know. We were really hit."

I don't know how or what that explains, but I''ve never sat in a breakfast cafe for 2-1/2 hours unless I had some major reading to do, or was studying for finals.

I remember sitting in this same courtyard 10 years ago, under the misters, enjoying a fabulous club sandwich with wonderful service.

This restaurant has a beautiful outdoor setting and what looks like a pretty loyal local following, despite the various changes in management. There is so much potential.  I hope it can be turned around.

I really hope the management reads this (and other similar reviews) and takes this to heart. Lack of available tables is understandable. Cold eggs are almost forgiveable.   But bad customer service is a stain.

Went to Rock Garden for the first time this past weekend. My boyfriend and I thought it looked like a nice place for lunch with the big outside patio. I ordered the turkey sandwhich and ended up taking all the turkey out and eating only the lettuce, tomato, cheese, and bread. Not sure what was wrong with the turkey but it definitely did not look normal or edible. Owner seemed really nice and welcoming, crowd was a little older, seemed more like a locals place. We both decided we would never go back.

Went there tonight, 9/18 at 7 PM and it was almost empty but so are most places mid week this time of year. Their menu is big, maybe too big. Or maybe just need one menu for breakfast and lunch and one for dinner only since you cannot order them anyway. Some wonderful choices and I asked if everything was made fresh to order and got a firm yes, including soups and all the desserts are made in house. Everything but appetizers comes with soup or salad of which there are four choices: tossed, Greek, Caesar, or Spinach which was my choice, with an entire sliced hard boiled egg, maybe two large sliced mushrooms, and big pieces of bacon. It was just like I would make at home. The large portion made me I asked it was the same as the $4.95 ala carte side salads and was told no, that those are twice the size. I ordered a rib eye steak which was excellent and perfectly cooked. It had some fatty parts but all rib eyes do. I got a baked potato and surprised they don't up-charge for them like many places are doing now. It could have had more sour cream and I could have asked for and got it I am sure. The broccoli, cauliflower, and carrot medley were fresh and crisp and just enough. Best of all was the price $15.95. They have some great items all under $20 and appetizers for under $8. The surf and turf combos were more, $21 to $24. Still not bad at all. The service was great but then again they weren't that busy. I took a look at the dessert case on the way out and man did they look incredible. I would go back again and even though I complained about the menu, I looked at the breakfast and lunch selections and I would certainly go there for them as well with great prices and especially because they have one of the best outdoor patios in town with a pond and stream and a great mountain view. Definitely worth trying.

Ugh! where to begin, you can ignore my old reviews as yet again new management and menu.

Just when the RC was showing life, they went and killed it.  The easiest way to say this is they have a Sysco Menu.  You know those huge trucks that bring frozen food to restaurants.  So now we have 4 sysco food restaurants,  Billy Reeds, LuLu's, Rock Garden, and Twin Palms.  Over cooked veggies, bland chicken and the list goes on.  At least at LuLu's it has a great energy about the place, but the food still is bland.

So let me start in on the details.  Stopped by tonight for dinner,  I ordered a side Cesar salad, along with the Shrimp Stir fry over rice,  My partner ordered a side Cesar and the Malibu Chicken.

The lighting is horrid inside the building, Tan ceilings, make your food look brown and unappealing.

His chicken was a frozen chicken breast, with basic ham and slice of cheese on top. The cheese was not browned so it looked like a big glop of yellowish tan gravy, which was in fact cheese.  His veggies were over cooked, you know the standard Palm Springs mushy set.  Carrots, Broccolli, onions, a few green pepers and other nondescript stuff.  Oh oh oh, you know the frozen veggie mix from Sysco food service.  At $14.95 for the dish he said it just wasn't appetizing.

The side Cesar was over dressed and seemed like just all the very green tops of the Romain lettuce, Stringy and no crunch.

Before the food came I was excited about a stir fry being on the menu,  Both a chicken and a Shrimp option.  I said outside of Asian food restaurants, nobody has a basic stir fry.  I envisioned Pea Pods, some crunch with Water chestnuts, along with carrots and other yummy veggies.  Very sad to say.  Its the same veggie mix they use as the side veggies with teriyaki sauce add in.  This is how I envisioned the cook assembling this dish,  Through some already cooked shrimp in a fry pan with oil, stirred them around a minute, scooped the over cooked veggie mix and added it to the fry pan. Maybe through in some extra green and red pepper (over cooked and mushy), splashed on the Teriyaki sauce and the dish was created.  Oh oh oh, the rice was mushy and flavored as Rice Pilaf, I guess Sysco figured the Teriyaki sauce will cover the flavor of the mushy rice. It was just, ugh,  sustenance, it would keep me alive another day, but nothing I ever want again.

I really was liking the 2nd version of the Rock Garden, after it closed the first time. The manager and menu, it was actually yummy and hip.  This is a sad day. As I will only try the RC one more time for lunch.  If nothing changes I predict it will be closed by 2013 or early 2013.

Sysco is ruining restaurants in Palm Springs.  People! Restaurantd!  Fresh veggies and no frozen chicken  P L E A S E!!!!,  Its simple and not hard to do.

Please Rock Garden take this review as constructive criticism and change things for the better. Bring back the flat breads, the yummy sandwiches, don't sell your restaurant soul to Sysco.

My husband and I go to Palm Springs quite often, and during our visit we always have Sunday breakfast with friends.  After my friends stated this place had gone through renovations and new owners, we decided to see what they had to offer.  Their breakfast menu is quite limited, and what they do have is kind of pricey.  Two out of four of us received inaccurate meals, and one had "ties" in his beef sandwich...not something you really want to digest.  All I can say, we will no longer be going to Rock Garden for any meals.  I will stick to other places in the area that are better and more affordable.

Apart from the food being mediocre, the service was just sad.we only saw our server about two times. The bill was 30 something dollars so we left 5 dollars. Pretty reasonable seeing in how we had horrible service. Later that week we see the same server with her girlfriend at walmart and she says to us "thanks for the great tip." Never going back there.

Drove past this place and decided it looked great for a nice outdoor meal.

the patio is great, the wait staff was great, the meal was great, the dessert had much to be desired.

It was really tough deciding what I wanted to eat because all the plates going by looked so good and everything on the menu sounded fantastic.  I went with a club sandwich and it was enough for two meals easily.  My group split the molten chocolate cake and it was hardly molten.  We had to ask if we got the right thing.  No gooey center, no gooey topping, nothing even the slightest bit warm.  It was just a slice of chocolate cake.  The cake wasn't bad however it was disappointing when you expected something else.  The waiter offered to replace it with a different one but we were ready to be on our way so we ate the tasty cake and packed up our leftovers.

I would return but I should hope that the molten cake is renamed on the menu when I do.

Found this place purely by chance while looking for a nice, casual brunch spot (and we had nixed two other places).

It's your standard brunch fare with a nice outdoors patio area (although it did get somewhat uncomfortably warm).

The turkey club with avocado was good, although the pepper mayonnaise was a little too much.

Stopped by for Happy Hour.  The mixed drinks on the HH menu were all convoluted super-sweet drinks trying too hard to be different.  My husband ordered one and it was undrinkable.  Since there were no regular drinks on the HH menu he ordered a tiny martini for $9 - not exactly what we were looking for in a Happy Hour.  The Yukon Gold Potato Chips were tasty but seriously greasy.  Flatbread was good, but not enough to draw us back.  Outdoor seating was nice, but the restaurant interior was cold and uninviting.

Two stars because the bussers are actually trying to get some work done and because the Rock Garden is actually pleasant. Otherwise:  Worst service, poor Hostess service, no manager presence. The menu is dull and the quality of food follows suit.  If you are going to offer a brunch or breakfast menu please know that a request for coffee should not take more than a few moments to honor. Less grounds in my cup would be okay as well.

They would never get a second visit from me!

I was really impressed, I've living in Palm Springs for many many a year, and know the OLD Rock Garden only too well.  The new owners have really cleaned it up and opened it up to give it a true comfortable environment.  Of course we sat outside because it was a beautiful day.  I had the Fish Taco's and they were really good.  The Manager was very pleasant and the owners were there checking on each table ensuring everybody was happy and asking for any feedback.  These guys have taken on a big task and I know they will do well.  Everything so far is going in the right direction.  I'm sure I'll be back, prices are fare, service was top notch and the food was clean, fresh and good.

My husband and I were in Palm Springs for business. The weather was great, so we wanted to eat ouside and enjoy it. We checked out a few places and read reviews on Yelp - we were looking for somewhere pretty casual and affordable. The reviews were pretty mixed, but we are pretty laid back, easy going people - so we decided to check it out!

And I have to say, we were pretty thrilled with the entire experience!

They have a beautiful patio area - with pretty little ponds and fabulous palm trees. They also have outdoor heaters for anyone that gets a little chilly - they just wheel them right out to your table if asked.

The service was great and the food was outstanding!

We were there right before happy hour ended, so we enjoyed a couple of specialty brews - $2 off - and a great appetizer for $5. The appetizer was a tomato and buffalo mozzarella flatbread - It was really tasty!

For dinner, we shared the Carbonara - again - very tasty. It was just enough for the two of us after having eaten the flatbread. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the sauce was light and creamy! We loved it!

When the sun went down, the frogs started making some noise. It was wonderful! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening!

We decided to have dinner at the Rock Garden based on our friends recommendation.  Unfortunately the experience was not what we had hoped for.  We were seated quickly, however it took several minutes before the waitress returned for our drink order.  The wine list was not presented with the menus when we were seated, so the waitress had to go back for the wine list.  It took about 5 more minutes before she returned to take our drink orders. We decided to order our dinner at the same time for fear we would not see her again for awhile.
My partner ordered the crispy chicken," oh we are out of that" (this is about 7:30 on a Saturday night), ok they still have chicken, grilled, not crispy.  Next I decide to order the short ribs, "oh we are out of that too".  What?  So I ordered the pork chop.  We both ordered salads, mine was the beet salad, which was plentiful, just not with beets. There were about 4 julienned beets on top of the lettuce.  My partner ordered the blue cheese salad, which was way overdressed and surprisingly, too much blue cheese.  Our dinners came in a timely fashion and we both were very pleased.
Next came dessert. We ordered the cherry pie with whipped cream and the brownie.  After 5 minutes, the waitress returned to say they were out of the brownie, but they would substitute and lava cake for the same price.  The cherry pie arrived without the mentioned whipped cream, so it back to the kitchen for the whipped cream!!!!.  How could a restaurant be so poorly stocked on a Saturday evening?  Out of the six items we ordered, 3 were substitutes.
We liked our waitress, but things just seemed very disorganized and the fact that they were out of so many items early in the evening also speaks to the disorganization.
We sat outside which was very nice except for the loud faux frog sounds.  Either turn the sound down or preferably off, the setting does not need it.
Overall, we would not race back to have dinner at Rock Garden.

I have been here a few times since the ownership changed hands. Once was midweek with my favorite dining companion, and once with a social group for cocktail hour, also mid-week. Very few vegetarian options on the menu and the service was ok. The drinks are also ok. There is not much to recommend this place because it is just ok. The ambiance leaves something to be desired, unless you are dining outside where you can be serenaded by frogs in the faux creek created by the restaurant. The main problem is that I do not think they have created a unique enough atmosphere. There is no unified theme nor decor and what they do have doe snot stimulate the appetite. I am sure that this can be improved upon and we shall see inmy next visit, in about three months.

Have been driving past the "new" Rock Garden daily and decided to try it. Initially, you walk into a great outdoor dining space to an interior restaurant and bar that is about the most uninviting space I've ever experienced. It looks like an unfinished room into which" four tops" were place rather than long, metal tables with attached bleachers for the diners at Riverside County jail.
It was "happy hour" so we looked into the bar and immediately decided to drink at a table outside to avoid the dark, depressing and also otherwise unfinished looking space.
Drink was OK after being returned once to get what was actually ordered. We proceeded to order from an amazingly limited and boring menu---a bacon and onion flatbread, a caesar salad, a mussels appetizer and a burger.
The flatbread was definitely flat! The topping as advertised, but without any flavor at all. The salad was all flavor---the flavor of overwhelming anchovy which made it inedible to me. The burger, ordered medium rare consisted of two thin patties cooked medium well and cemented together with some goo denominated as cheese but not otherwise recognizable as such. This $13.00 mess doesn't hold a candle to a Big Mac.
The new Rock Garden has about a three months by my reckoning to completely turn itself around because the word of mouth currently out there will kill it off, as it richly deserves if it continues on as it is now.
I wanted to add to my (19%) tip to the waitress the advice to start looking for another job. She was very attentive and friendly, as was the entire table side staff, but it won't be enough to save this place.

    Well...... where do I start?
The service was good but very disjointed. Everyone is  very nice and trying very hard but there is something very wrong.
First off we ordered the mussels as an appetizer for two of us.  They came out and there was just a little bowl of mussels and 3 pieces of garlic toast for 2!  No cocktail plates or any convenient way to eat them.  And ... they were cold.   The bus boy came by, picked up the bowl and our two forks. Then...... the waiter popped by and said " Your mussels are just about up" and plopped down two cocktail plates.
We thought 'What?'  then we said to each other.... ?? Let's just see what happens. And... sure enough another order of mussels comes and they are colder than the first ones, three of them ( maybe 10 total) are not even open and.... we have no forks. So, we ate one each with our fingers.  When they picked up our plate, mostly uneaten they didn't even say, was there something wrong?
Our dinner came and we finally had to ask for more forks.
My partner had the Black Bean Burger. No comment
I had the Shrimp Carbonara. Quantity of shrimp was ok but... it was just like chicken A La King with shrimp. BLAH. It was shrimp, linguini, panceta and cream. NO FLAVOR!
Nothing very healthy on the menu!
sorry guys. You are trying very hard but.........
Just to make this official, here is my phone number:  425-501-8092.

My husband deliberately singled out the Rock Garden Cafe for my birthday lunch. We were seated outside on the patio where I ordered the chicken pot pie and my husband ordered the Asian Chicken Crunch salad. They were out of the salad, so he settled for a turkey sandwich. The waitstaff seemed completely unorganized and disjointed. Our lunch was brought to the wrong table sending a confused expeditor back inside to ask where to serve it. When it finally arrived at our table, the pot pie was lukewarm and visibly burned to a crisp. The "fresh puff pastry crust" promised on the menu, wasn't - it was a thin, wafer-like, drum head-like crust stretched across the opening of a small cast iron skillet. The color ranged from scorched to downright burned. It was hard, and shattered when cracked open. Inside, the filling was overcooked and dehydrated, and the equally thin bottom crust was burned to the sides and bottom of the skillet. I can't believe they had the nerve to set this dish in front of me, and expect me to pay $12.95 for it. I chiseled off big black chunks of crust that was infused to the outer sides of the pan and piled them inside the pie so when I sent it back to the kitchen, everyone could see what NOT to serve to a customer. However, by the time our server finally returned, my husband was done with his sandwich and it was too late to brave a replacement meal. At the very least I expected our tardy server to comment on the pile of charcoal in front of me; after all, it was the first time she'd seen it. But she said absolutely nothing as she carried it away from the table. So by her non-reaction, I believe that she was either clueless, too embarrassed to comment, or inedible food comes out of that kitchen on a regular basis and she's used to it.

This is such a cute little venue. I hope for the sake of this restaurant they read these reviews and take the comments to heart. This is Palm Springs and the food competition is fierce. If Rock Garden Cafe continues to operate like this, they won't be in business very long.

Nothing distinguishing about the decor or the food in the new place- lotsa rocks & a koi pond along the entry walk.

I went to the former R.G. Cafe 2 years in a row for a Christmas dinner with a dining group I belonged to at the time, I loathe turkey breast and opted for salmon both years. The dinner was good, salmon cooked perfectly, & welcomed after hearing all the complaints about the turkey meal. I had lunch there al fresco with another group and had an unremarkable steak san with a tough overcooked 3/8" cut of meat I'd ordered medium rare.

The new place is worse, and the reviews reflect the fact. Here, there, left, right, up, down... seems none of the help knows the difference, hence woefully inadequate service.

Give us the old ROCK GARDEN back!!!!! Terrible food and servers. They ruined the place. The diningroom felt like you were in a garage waiting for your car to be fixed, not for food. They never should of removed the bridge , no real entrance to the place. Had the three cheese omelette.  Will to start they only put on one kind of cheese and it was thinner then a piece of paper. the potatoes and taost were cold. Had a very hard time getting are coffee refilled. Very limited menu, had a hard time finding something to order. The old place had a great menu. The only good thing was to see Ester back. Sad, because they have the best patio in the desert. Will not go back until I here they have a better updated menu. Looked at there lunch and dinner menu, could not find thing to order and prices way to high.

Well we decided to give it a second try after the first disaster. It still is pretty bad with the worst slow services ever, not to mention a really boring dining room and over priced too. I suspect the the owners are not there, because it shows. The first time we went, we walked out after waiting 15 minutes and no one noticed.

Seems like everyone hated the old Rock Garden Cafe........... not me.
I loved their huge breakfast menu and Stuffed French Toast was awesome.

I was curious to try the "new" Rock Garden Bar & Grill after the remodel.
    What a disappointment!!
The place looks better....... cleaner and more up to date.
    Still love the huge patio.
But the breakfast menu and food is awful!!

Tried the Macadamia Nut Pancakes. What a joke. How are they not embarrassed to serve that?
2 buttermilk pancakes with macadamia nuts thrown on top of them?
Like they literally make 2 buttermilk pancakes and open the jar of nuts and throw some on top and send it out.
    Horrible.

My partner got the oatmeal which looked like wallpaper paste.
Not even edible. Sent it back 15 minutes later when the server came back and decided to not get anything else.

    Service was bad.
They ran out of coffee and customer's kept getting up from their tables (on the patio) and walking inside with their coffee cups to try and get more coffee.
The table next to us was complaining about their food and the table next to them sent back 2 plates of food!

So bummed they ruined one of my favorite breakfast spots!

Updated decor is much better after the remodel.  Menu selection is very limited and quite boring.  Service is awfully slow and we waited about 45 mins to get our food and took at least 20 mins to get a server to take our order.  Very disappointing and would not recommend!!!

Tried it out a few weeks ago and very disappointing.  They had a new brunch menu with about 20 items and the kitchen froze up.  No food left for over 45 minutes and it took an hour to get our food.  We watched multiple tables get the wrong food.  Waitress as great and she felt so bad.  Spoke to the Manager and he apologized, but said come back next week.  I'll wait a month, but you know, if you aren't ready to re-open, don't work out your kinks on real customers!

Remember what a dump this place was???   Like going to an old relatives house who had a hoarding condition and hadn't dusted in years.  What a great improvement the new owners have made!

I will admit I was a little unsure where to check in with the Hostess and later I believe I learned why.  We wanted to sit outside and there appeared plenty of available seating but my guess is there wasn't plenty of staff.  We were invited to wait in the bar until our table would be available.  The Bartender was friendly and we ordered some drinks.  She showed us the happy hour menu which lasts until 7pm but we told her we wanted outside dining tonight.  Who can blame us as the desert weather was so nice last night.  The drinks were good but I worried without them taking our name or giving us a paging device, we might be forgotten.  We were.  We reminded them and they quickly escorted us to a nice table.  Initially we had prompt service though the Busser never offered us water.  No worries because frankly we were still taken back how cleaned up this once dive was.  To start, we asked for the Bacon Dates and then ordered our meal which included the Burger and I had the  Meat Lover's Pizza.  The Server stopped by our table to say she would check on our appetizer and then returned a little bit later with appetizers and all.  We commented it would have been nice to have our appetizer first and that is when we learned from her that she was the Hostess asked to serve some tables.  I enjoyed the dates (my first time experiencing them), their wine list is fun how they sort it out and my thin crust pizza was ok.  Their menu is kind of a limited with some higher priced items on it.  As said, this space is such an improvement from what it was and the staff though friendly lacked training and skill. This place deserves my patience and another try so I will give it that and visit again hoping with time they can improve the menu a little with a few more options and bump up the staffing levels and service.

Bring back the old Rock Garden!  After undergoing a recent renovation (and name change to Rock Garden Bar & Grill or RGBG), we were excited to check out the updates.  What a disappointment.  Showed up Sunday for breakfast and their menu is COMPLETELY different.  Very limited in selection compared to the old place.  Their brunch menu (and we had no alternative but to order from that) gives no mention of any sides (i.e. comes with potatoes and choice of bread).  Average price $11.00.  Their macadamia pancakes consisted of two average size pancakes which were supposed to be served with berry butter.  It was not on the plate and not brought even after asking).  We had to ask for regular butter, the waiter disappeared after taking our order, and it took over 30 minutes to receive our food).  When we brought this to the hostess's attention, she went to tell a manager and SHE disappeared not to be seen again.  The new bar area is nice, but after many visits in the past, we won't be going back.

My boyfriend and I sat at the bar on a week night.  Glad to see they had Arrogant Bastard on tap, that was the only good thing that night.  We ordered 3 appetizers: bacon wrapped dates which were OK, chicken drumetts, no taste at all, and a margarita pizza(not sure I spelled that right but u get it).  The pizza had no flavor at.  The restaurant had the smell of paint inside, and I thought it was odd that everything including the bar top was painted the same dark grey color.

Wonderfully upgraded, and nice food. The homemade buns fall apart but very tasty. I'll definitely be back. A really nice place.

Great spot to take the family for dinner. Best Angus burger I have ever ate. It literally melted in my mouth. Our waiter Joey was a cool guy and he made dinner a good time. When we go back well sit in his section.

This long time PS cafe just reopened under new ownership. So our experience was part  of the soft opening. Needless to say, service was slow, but I really had not expected to wait 50 minutes after ordering for a party of 4 to be served breakfast.
What was worse was that the server never came near us after our initial drinks order, and my husband had to go back to the bar to order 2 more bloody Mary's.
No one  on the wait staff thought to maybe comp some juice, toast or  pastry to help with the wait.  Never saw a busboy to refill water glasses. Never saw a manager/owner to come by and  apologize.
I understand that restaurants have shake out problems for  a month or so after opening, but this experience was made worse by the blasé attitude of all the staff.
And the food was not good enough to make up for it.
Plan to try this place again in a month, hopefully things will have smoothed out.
OTOH, they did a great job with the refurbishments. It looks SO much nicer inside and out.
