Had the pleasure of stopping in here a couple times this past weekend while I was in town and I was really impressed. I had been hearing good things but had yet to try it. The good things that I heard were true.
We just had drinks on Friday night but it was a good experience. On Sunday afternoon I stopped in to meet some friends. I had a few bloody Mary's and, although they weren't a featured drink, they came out just as I like them, spicy and tasty. The only thing I wish they had was more garnish for them as I like a pickle spear and maybe some pepperoni as a garnish. I also ordered the chicken tenders and they came out perfect. Nice, juicy tenders served with some of the best hand-cut fries I have ever had. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right whereas usually hand-cut fries have a tendency to come out soggy and greasy.
Keep up the great work guys, it's a far cry from the old Bradford Hotel, that's for sure!
Rookie's has a nice atmosphere and is a fun place to hang out and grab a beer, but I would not recommend the food. Â The wings are decent, but most of the appetizers and some of the entrees seem like frozen food from the grocery store that they heat up in the microwave. Â Additionally, when we ordered entrees they forgot to give us the "homemade chips" that were supposed to be included so we had to flag down the waitress who was totally clueless and who then had to go talk to the cook even though it was clearly printed on the menu. Â It became a much bigger ordeal than it should have been.
Review Source:I have eaten hear a couple of times for lunch since opening. So far they are off to a great start. The burgers are all stuffed from what I have seen and they are pretty filling. The boneless chicken wings are also very good...despite being boneless, they have a nice coating on them making them more similar to a traditional wing.
The staff has been very friendly and the service time is acceptable. I recommend trying it out!
