I came here and ordered a salad and my friend ordered a sandwich. We started off with coffee and it tasted exactly like salt water. The waitress explained the coffee put had not been fully cleaned so she supposedly did so and rebrewed us another pot. It was still super salty. We thought we would rid that taste with our meals but my salad tasted like water and cardboard and my friends sandwich was average at best. Not going back.
Review Source:When you walk in to a restaurant and EVERY SINGLE table has a pizza on it, you order Pizza! Â We ordered a medium pizza, and it was flat crust. Â As in, flat in taste and structure. Â It was hard and doughy, not crispy and light. Â As someone else said, kinda like a frozen pizza... and I would be this dough had been recently frozen, not recently tossed, streched and aired.
We also had the Triple Pork Sandwich.  I'm from far enough south, the more pig the better on a sandwich.  The sandwich came out amazingly fast on a pretzel roll bun.  However, the pulled pork was awful, hard and disgusting.  The ham was watery, flat thin sandwich mean taken straight from the packaging and thrown into the sandwich.  While nothing was wrong with the bacon (as if there could be anything wrong with bacon) the coleslaw had no barrier so it was warm  (FYI... warm mayonaisse=bad food).
The beer was lukewarm/cool... but it kinda worked on this cool evening. Â However, if it was much warmer, it would not have been pleasureable.
My waiter did a nice job, and some lady (I think the owner) let me know this was the winter menu, and the summer menu was much better... and should be out by the end of the week.
I went in here on my American Aadvantage network... it gave them bad reviews, and Yelp gave them bad reviews. Â I thought maybe they had revised in the past 4 months... they hadn't.
As another reviewer said, This is a fantastic location, and a lot of personality to this bar/ grill. Â If the food was great, it would make a mint! Â Unfortunately, I think I missed the mark... it's cheap drinks, bad bar food, and apparently good bands on the right night.
2 Stars!
Food was disgusting, service was poor. Will never visit again.
I hate to give a place a negative review unless they truly deserve it. Each place I review I have visited a minimum of three times. I review based on average experience. I review based on several areas: Customer Service, Food quality and flavor, Price/Value for the money, Atmosphere, and finally I pull up the health inspection reports and look at violations over the past three years. I do not write a poor review just to smear a business. Â My reviews are honest accounts of my visits to an establishment.
Robert Irvine is needed stat!!!!!!!!!
This was the worst place we ate during our 1 week trip. I gave it a star due to our server. He was the only ok thing about the visit.
When we got there, there was a line at the door. My husband walked to the front and attempted to put our name with with a much older lady with short brown hair (sadly, I am pretty sure she's the owner/manager) and he was told they don't do that and to wait and someone would be with him when a table opened. Sign #1 to run.
We were taken to a table with dirty linens. REALLY? The girl came back and attempted to wipe them but I mean, it's linens, HELLO... What should have been the sign #2 to run for it. But we waited. The tea is not brewed. Sign #3. After ordering we waited for 30 minutes for food. Like the rest of the tables. All at once, food started coming out. Going to wrong tables and then going back until they knew the right table.
Our app came with our dinner.. UMM ok. It was just a cluster. Never again because we don't live there, but never again if we visit!
One star is overly generous. Unlike the customer service experienced at this highly not recommended so called
restaurant.
A group of 9 of us was seated around 8:30. We waited awhile to see a server, and again to place our order. The restaurant was out of a lot of types of food, including basil, which we ordered on our pizza. Anyway, 9:22 rolls around and our food still hasn't arrived. We ask to see the manager. A waitress tells us there are no managers. What kind of operation are they running here? So we ask for the owner. She says the owner might be "lurking" around, which seemed like a stance thing to say until we met the owner.
We politely stated our case and the owner had none of it. The owner refused to issue an apology. She told us the oven was small and they make their food from scratch, which is great, but working in customer service, the right thing to do is to just apologize. Instead she brought some receipt indicating that our order had been entered at 8:48, so we were wrong. I'm not really sure how this was applicable to the fact that we'd been waiting that long but she was quite defensive and responded rudely.
She later came out and told us that we could have some of her crappy sorbet for dessert. We didn't want it, so we gave it to our waiter, who shall remain anonymous, but may or may not have advised us that the manager/owner who refuses to hire managers has no soul. We didn't want to stiff our waiter on tip so our sole outlet was yelp. Highly recommend going to this place, asking for the owner, and informing her that you'll be eating elsewhere because you've heard she is rude to customers.
Do yourself a favor and skip this one...
Service was slow, beer was not cold. Apps were good, but how can you mess up Spinach Artichoke that you get already made. Pizza was not good...whats with the thin crust? It was like a Tortilla with topping. Reminded me of a Chef Boyardee pizza from the box.
My son had the Shrimp dinner....Frozen shrimp with ketchup cocktail sauce. My wife had the Chicken Wet Burrito....I had a bite of it....Cumin Chicken with canned refried beans to make it look big is not good eats.
Noticed a few other tables complaining about the burgers being overdone and there was a Chuckie Cheese like party at the table behind us....So disappointed that places like this are serving slop when they could be making a name for themselves in a very busy community. Really was a bad finish to a great weekend.
We were in Grand Haven having a great time exploring the city until we went to here to eat. Our horrible dining experience started when we walked in the restaurant and the guy behind the bar said out loud to the waitress "Oh great we got a group of tourists, get them away dorm the front!"
After we got sat all the way in the back corner of the restaurant with no air conditioning our waitress took almost 10 minutes to come and take our drink order and then she managed to get half the drinks wrong.
Finally we order our food and when she brings it out she only brought 3 of our 6 plates and then proceeds to go service other tables. We waiting almost 10 minutes for her to close out other peoples tabs and refill drinks before she brought out the rest of our rancid food... A few of us got the beef dip sandwich that got served to us without any freaking DIP! So now we are nearly 25 minutes into our first plate coming to the table and we still don't have our entire meal!
In closing... the food was horrible, the service sucked and a few of us got stomach aches after we ate. Do yourself a favor and stay away dorm this horrible place. Your better off eating your money than eating their food.
The first time I stopped in here, I was having a great time exploring Grand Haven. Â This nearly ruined it. Â I ordered a veggie quesadilla, because I'm a vegetarian. Â It came to the table and I took a bite. Â It was a chicken quesadilla. Â The restaurant exchanged it for a Veggie quesadilla (which didn't taste good). Â I was very disappointed. Â There are many good restaurants in Grand Haven, so don't eat here.
Review Source:Had Lunch here on Saturday, this is the best Beef Burrito I have had in a long time....so tasty and yummy ....the pulled pork sandwich was so tender it was like butter....so yummy...the wing dings were tasty too. Â I will definitely come back here when were in town to get another burrito. Â The atmosphere on the bar side is alittle noisy, but it is a bar. Â The service was very good, and very friendly. Â She was very helpful with the menu. Â The Moose Drool Brown Ale beer was very smooth.
Review Source:Growing up in the area I always saw that rose stained-glass door frame and thought that Rosebud was some sort of bar/promised land. Â Maybe I built it up a bit too much in my head, but it certainly does not live up to my childhood fantasy. Â
The drinks are ok, and not too expensive (pretty standard). Â They have some decent local live music (Wednesday was a good night to go in the summer), and when there's not live music it's usually quiet enough to have a conversation. Â
The thing that really stands out to me about Rosebud is that more often than not I end up getting hit on by creepy older drunk guys. Â This seems to be a pretty common occurrence. Â If you can avoid the creepers (or even better, get a table outside) this is not a bad place to spend an evening.
Atmosphere: It's OK. They have two "rooms", one is where the bar is, which has high booths and high stools, the other is a dining room. We sat at the bar area. It was freezing because of the AC/fan combo.
Service: eh, it could be better. Although they weren't that busy, our waitress forgot to bring my beer and I had to remind her.
Food: Although this is a "bar and grill", expect to find bar type food. I ordered a seafood platter which was one of their specials. I normally try not to ordered specials but this sounded pretty good: a crab cake, a couple of deep fried shrimp and two perch. Crab cake was OK, most likely pre-made from Sysco. Shrimp was typical, too. Perch: it didn't say anything on the menu so I didn't think much of it before ordering. Everytime I've had perch, it's been lightly breaded and pan fried. What I got was these two over-battered, over deep-fried pieces. Actually, all my seafood items were over deep-fried. They have a decent selection of beers, some draft, including local ones but they were out of several of them.
Parking: This is a downtown bar so there's street parking available and lots in the back.
Stopped by there on our way home from Traverse city to Chicago as we were traveling down route 31. This place was close to where we were parked and decided to peak in. The place was old and decrepit. The bathrooms were dirty. The menus looked like they were typed on an old typewriter. Appears to be a run down pizza place. We decided to leave. Went The Grand down the block instead.
Review Source:I loved the atmosphere in Rosebuds. Â The tables and stools were all high up and I loved the staff. Â The bartender immediately greeted us when we came in and made us glad we came. Â It looked like there was another side to the bar that was more of a restaurant setting. Â We didn't walk over there so I'm not sure because we sat on the bar side. Â
The menu descriptions sounded great so we were really excited to try the food. Â I tried the red pepper potato soup and it was AWESOME! Â I loved it. Â My boyfriend had the chili and said it was pretty good. Â
My boyfriend asked the waitress about the pizza and she said it was the best so he ordered that. Â I wanted to try something different than I normally eat so I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. Â
We aren't sure if it's a Western Michigan thing or what but the pizza was thin crust. Â Everywhere we ordered pizza while we were visiting the area was thin crust. Â My boyfriend isn't a fan of thin crust so he was bummed that she didn't mention that. Â I tasted it and really enjoyed it. Â
I hate to say it because I liked this place but...my pulled pork sandwich was awful. Â Don't take my word for the sandwich, though, because I should have known better than to order it. Â I'm not a big fan of barbecue and don't eat meat often. Â It really grossed me out because the pork was pretty fatty and didn't taste good to me at all. Â I guess trying something new wasn't a good idea in this case. Â I didn't eat my sandwich but the fries were good and I shared my boyfriends pizza.
The bar selection was pretty good. Â I'd definitely hang out here again. Â Cool place.
