The Dos Equis - "Most Interesting Man in the World" is a white water rafting guide at Royal Gorge Rafting. Â His name is Jon. Â Stay thirsty my friends. Â He has crazy stories, dangerous jobs, numerous broken bones, and ridiculous jokes. Â He knew how to read the rapids like an expert. Â When your life hangs in the balance, you want your captain to be very knowledgeable and experienced. Â You will be trained and briefed before you take a ride (fall?) on Sledgehammer, Sunshine Falls, Grateful Dead, Wall Slammer, and many other life changing rapids.
My group and I had an awesome time during this trip even though it was freezing. Â We did the "back to back" trip, which means you go through the tougher parts of the rapids twice. Â I believe everyone has to go rafting at least once in their lifetime. Â There are no words to describe this outdoor experience, but I will try. Â The Colorado canyon views are gorgeous. Â The rapids are fast, full of adventure. Â This isn't just floating along a stream. Â Your raft needs to work cohesively as a unit. Â You will get a workout, there will be some paddling in unison.
RGR provides you with water boots, wet suits, splash jackets, helmets, and life vests before you get on the river. Â I would recommend buying an Underarmor or Nike dri-fit shirt to wear under the suit. Â The water is very cold year round (it is from the melted mountain snow). Â RGR drops you off and picks you up at certain points in the river. Â They have been through this many seasons and know how to do things efficiently and party pleasing. Â You are in good hands!
