When I lived in Sandusky, Sail In was arguably my favorite bar. Cheap drinks, cheap ever for Sandusky, always-friendly staff and patrons, plenty of space, and incredible wings!
If you've ever enjoyed a honey-mustard wing in your life, you must get them at Sail In. I've spent time living in Buffalo, but when I miss good wings I miss them from Sail In in good ol' Sandusky, OH.
They have dartboards but no darts, but are perfectly happy to let people with darts throw for free. The bar is mostly full of regulars, but unlike many bars where that's the case, they're extremely friendly to new faces.
Anyone visiting or living in Sandusky, go enjoy this treat of a bar.
It's Friday night at 12:45am in Sandusky, Ohio. Â You've spent all day at Cedar Point, and you are totally wore out. Â You just want some beer and to lay back and watch TV in your hotel room so you can rest peacefully and start over again tomorrow. Â All the gas stations are closed and you have little hope at fulfilling these reasonable desires. Â But wait! Â There's a sign that says Sail In, it's lit up, and I think that's a Miller High Life sign in the window. Â Is that a kitchen behind the beer sign? Â There's nobody in there, where am I? Â I hear music and drunk people, they've got to be around here somewhere. Â Around the corner, in the door, up the stairs, AHA! Â It's smoky in here, but they have a pool table, a juke box, and a bar. Â I asked nicely if she could sell me some beer to carry out. Â It was no problem for $10 per six and I walked out very happy. Â My awaiting passengers, sitting in the car with their arms crossed, jumped for jubilation when they realized we would not be going to bed buzzless. Â It was a great ending to the night and I am glad we happened to stroll by this local dive bar. Â They really saved the day!
Review Source:Small local bar that I use to go with my friends. The bartender was always nice and the food was decent. Most of the people there are regulars but they usually still are friendly. This place has one of the best long islands( ask for Debs long island it will make you fall off the bar stool) but other than that it's nothing special. This is a good low key bar in a local area to get a quick drink.
