Sal's Italian Bistro

The wait staff is a lot more impolite than I remembered from last year. We came in as a party of 10 for our yearly trip to Shenandoah and since they told us the wait would be about an hour, we thought we would make the most of our time and have drinks by their bar while we waited. Wrong.
We all sat around the bar discussing drinks and making choices about what to have while various staff walked by carrying drinks and orders and pouring drinks behind the bar. Not once did they acknowledge that one of us may want a drink but they did find the time to tell us to keep from behind the bar (we reached behind the bar to show the difference in carafe sizes to someone else in our party).
By the time we sat it was service as usual. The food was great but it didn't seem as special as it did the year before. Maybe this year we didn't starve ourselves long enough beforehand to think this was the best place on earth.

Disappointed they were closed on Tuesday.  Hope to raise my rating during my current visit to Edinburg

Traveling through to Rhode Island and stopped here for dinner. I have to say after spending a week in Tennessee this was the best meal we've had all vacation. I ordered the Rosa pasta with penne and it was excellent. Wish I had saved more room and finished the meal. Look forward to stopping  at this restaurant next road trip.
