I give Sammy Malones 4 stars in the Beer department. Great selection of craft beer on tap. If I was rating on menu alone it would be 2 stars. Extremely limited menu. And the few things that are on the menu are less than average. This place gets their menu together and they will a great asset to Baldwinsville.
Review Source:Great bar for the Baldwinsville area. Â They offer "some" variety from the norm in the area and waaaaaaaay better than any of the local spots.
Salads are great and so are the sandwiches. Â I think the roast beef has become over-rated but the the selection of beers makes up for it. Â They do need to bring back the Ommegang witte, and add Wings to their menu :)
And while you're there, try the Yukon Potato soup. Â Delish!
On the river, open 7 days a week at 11:30. Only a couple years old, with a double barrel vault wood strip ceiling (it's just pretty wood) and the place offers a nice view of the river. Read through the 3-ring notebook of the 24 microbrew drafts that they have on tap and curiosity sets in. I tried a Phin and Matts Ordinary Ale from Lakewood, NY (5.6%); a very nice amber treat. Unfortunately, the soups are not homemade - my addiction. From the short menu I tried the Prime Roast Beef Sandwich $5.99. "Voted 'Best Sandwich' at the 2008 Taste of B'Ville". Of the 3 roll choices = Kimmelwick, I added cheddar cheese and red onion. It was a cheaper roll and cheese but with enough moist, tender beef. On the side were a small cup of bland horseradish mayo and a bag of Lay's Potato Chips. Despite the name, it looks nicer than CHEERS.
