The good:
The staff and cooks try as best they can to deal with Madame Hammersfly. Honestly, don't cross her (meaning don't ask why its taking 45+ minutes to receive your fried rice) or she'll show you "Kick The Face".
(still The Good):
The chicken green curry. Decently prepared and presented.
The Medium:
The beef drunken noodle was greasy and barley spiced. Â Which is odd because we order the exact same thing last year and it was good. Perhaps it was an off night for the chef.
The Bad:
The bartender and the aforementioned Madame Hammersfly. He was rude and she was indifferent to any customers' concerns.
We'll be trying the other Thai place next year.
Went here for dinner after checking out the sunset at the beach. We had a group of 5. We all ordered off of the American menu, service was fast and friendly, with the exception of two of the waitress conversing very passionately in a different language. Everyone was very happy with their orders, and would go back again.
Review Source:We came here for an early dinner and were delighted with how good the Thai food was!  We had the spring rolls (very fresh and tasty) and we shared a massaman with pork and cashews with beef.  Their house pino grigio was quite nice, Friendly service, we will definitely return! Note: lunch is served  until 4pm so menu choices are less expensive until that time.
Review Source:Very casual, very busy in Feb/March, very good food. Â Strongly recommend the seafood thai soup, Â crabcakes special and the lobster roll. Â The bar also has a Bills banner, Jets banner, and on Friday night a bar tender from Geneva, NY. Â This means you have the trifecta for food and the trifecta for bar ambiance if you miss the cold weather of WNY and CNY.
Review Source:The food was amazing. Â I have only eaten the Thai food side of things (they also serve American food), but the Thai food is well spiced with fantastic flavor and fresh ingredients. Â The food gets 5 stars, but overall I think 3 or 4 is more appropriate. Â The waitstaff seems hit or miss: we had a rather down trodden waitress. Â The ambiance is typical sports bar which seems strange for good Thai restaurant and I was very disappointed that a place with "BAR" in their name ONLY serves beer and wine. Â Oh, and the beer and wine selection leaves anyone who likes a good ale disappointed. Â I would go back for more delicious food, but this place leaves you wanting better.
Review Source:I stopped by after a 12 hour day of flying in from Illinois and then working out of an office in Elwood. Â A local recommended the place and I was famished having not eaten since breakfast. Â I ordered the lump crab fried rice (Thai Hot) as recommended by staff and an Arnold Palmer to drink. Â Both were very good, however, I was still hungry when I left so I walked next door to Publix and picked up a Cuban sandwich which topped me off ;-)
I went back the next night with a few locals and had the Pad Thai Chicken. Â I ordered it Thai Hot and it was good. Â I really enjoyed this place. Â I've never been to a Sports Bar / Thai Restaurant. Â I liked it. Â FYI, they only serve beer and wine with a very modest beer selection.
I'd recommend the crab fried rice but likely pass on the Pad Thai. Â It was only so-so and there are many other items I'd likely try if I were to visit again.
Strange mix of sports bar and thai restaurant. Â I had the Chicken Satay as an appetize and I could have probably stopped there. Â They were delicious and quite filling. Â For the entre I had the chicken volcano. Â It had a kick, but was also a bit sweet. Â Excellent dish. Â The lady behind the bar was extremely friendly and made some great recommendations. Â The only negatives were that they don't accept AmEx and they close at 9:00. Â I was really searching for a good place to watch the NBA playoff game that started at 9:00. Â Other than that, this is a great thai food sports bar.
Review Source:This place is pretty yummy, especially since Venice has historically been lacking when it comes to Thai food. Â I've eaten here three or four times, and I'm most impressed with their pad thai, which is one of the best I've ever had, and their crispy spring rolls w/ Thai chili dipping sauce. Â I've also tried the panang curry with chicken, which was just okay. Â I'm spoiled, though, since I live in Atlanta where the Thai food is plentiful and generally really good.
The Sand Trap is overall a good spot, and also seems like a great spot to watch sports. Â Definitely an improvement in ambiance compared to Beef o' Brady's. Â The service I've had has been friendly and efficient. Check it out!
Excellent cleverly named traditional bar & grill food with a separate Thai menu. Â Fast friendly service, extremely clean interior. Â I can't seem to pull myself away from the Thai menu, curry's, fried rice, noodles & lots of Thai appetizers soups & salads, it's truly amazing for Venice! Â Make sure you order Thai Hot......I will eat here when I'm out of butane for my wok! =]
