Sandbar Restaurant & Lounge

Today a group of my friends and I rented a pontoon boat and decided to spend the day on the lake. We come to Monticello annually for Memorial Day weekend to start off the camping season. Today we decided to grab some lunch at the Sandbar because we could dock the boat right outside. It looks beautiful and the remodel of the deck is amazing. However, this restaurant goes to show that looks can be deceiving.
Lets start out with our trip to the restroom..
I felt like stale manure as numerous flies landed on my backside. The toilet to the left in the women's bathroom did not flush, and literally had no handle to flush with. Not even a sign on the door to let the sad soul know what they are in for.
Now why on earth would you waste such a sweet setup like you have, and have gas station level cuisine.  Honestly- below gas station level.  That was the absolute soggiest fish and chips I have ever been served. The "coney" dog was an interesting hue of grey/green. Topping it off with a
Fresh display of onion and pube. A curly thick hair in the hotdog I was looking so forward to.  Two of the other couples with us also was graced with a fury friend in their food. After staff was informed on multiple occasions, and being repeatedly  ignored.. ( giggled at, at one point), we just paid the bill to get the hell out of there!
Like I said, sweet set-up, but lets pull it together with your food, and service recovery. No one should pay for a hair in their meal.

This review is from last year. The staff was rude and food poor and took forever! I see you are doing a great looking remodel this year. I would love to frequent the Sandbar since its close and I can come by boat so I am Begging you...this year please hire wait staff that knows what they are doing and treats people like they are actually happy they are there and for God's sake work on your food. Good quality food will bring people back. Give it a try and we will give you a try!
