This place is a joke. Was charged a cover at the door, but it sounded fun inside so I paid it. After finding that the bar was full of 60+ year olds I began to get suspicious. I didn't get pissed until I noticed we were the ONLY ones charged a cover. When I asked the bouncer he told be tough sh*t. If you want to be profiled, or hang out with your grandparents, go here.

What I like most about the Sandbar is that you sit with the "locals" not a bunch of tourists. Â If your looking for a classy place, this is NOT it. But if your looking for a good place to watch the game with your buddies, look no more.

The atmosphere gives you the feeling of a sports bar with a family environment, but then can turn into a huge party after 9PM. Â
As far as sports bars go, I don't think that this one can be beat. Â
So many tTV's I didn't even bother counting. Â From anywhere I was sitting I could watch whatever sport I wanted. Â
The service is amazing, but the food has blown me away. Â I have eaten here a few times, and I am a huge BBQ fan. Â The first time I got the BBQ sliders which consist of pulled pork, brisket, and BBQ chicken. Â Incredible!
Just recently I went for their BBQ bacon cheeseburger with tots as a side. The burgers are hand pattied with all fresh ingredients. Let me tell you, that the burger was so good, yet so large, I only ate about 3 tots.
If you're in Vail and you want great food, great drinks, great service with a great atmosphere, then Sandbar Sports Bar and Grill in West Vail is be your choice!
Food's good and beer is cold and I really want to like the place, but they rip you off if you're not a local. This Townie bar once charged me $9/glass for house cabernet, I only found out after drinking 3 of them. Should have been more like $5/ea considering the crap they served and the dump the place is. They also charged a friend of mine $2 for 'rocks' (ice) in his drink ontop of the $7 for the drink itself. I doubt if they rip off the slackjawed skibum locals like this.
Review Source:Way overpriced bar that's on the wrong end of Vail, it's alright mid afternoon and occasionally on White Trash Wed but I always found the bartender in a sour mood and the drinks overpriced. Â
Haven't been back since they had a $10 cover, which I laughed at and walked past the bouncer only to find out he wasn't kidding...anyways any wanna be dive bar that doesn't serve cheap drinks and charges cover isn't my place.
This place is brilliant! Not in that super classy way, but in that semi-dive with good food kind of way.
I'm not going to lie though... the fact that I could eat my tasty chicken caesar wrap while watching softball on one screen, golf on another and SNOWBOARDING on another made the entire situation worthwhile.
If you are a sports junkie there are plenty of screens to capture your attention. The place was pretty empty with the exception of the bar flies who drink beer at noon and I think we were the only women in there, but I was happy with the food and liked the chill atmosphere. Plus the service was good and this might be the only sports bar in Vail ;)
