I like this place a lot... and it's only the very dim lighting (every time!) that keeps me from rating it 5 Stars. The food is great; their "Signature Burger" is one of the tastiest & most interesting burgers you will ever eat. The staff & service has always been very good, and the place is warmly & thoughtfully decorated.
But ... WHY IS IT ALWAYS SO DAMNED DARK?! All of the blinds are usually tightly closed, and the hanging lights are turned down as low as possible. This is the only thing that sometimes changes my mind when I'm thinking about going there... and I end up going somewhere else instead.
Drinks were great!! I ordered cranberry vodkas and they were strong! Â Lots of older men in the place hanging out...they have food too and my friend ordered a quesadilla, he said it was good and the tab wasn't too bad either.bar was very nice and clean. Â Restrooms were clean. Â Overall ok place.
Review Source:Went for lunch wife ordered avocado-bacon burger she loved it & the fries on the side. I had Sourdough burger w/fries it was also very good! I wanted a real beer not one of canoe beer watered junk most bars serve today. Waitress had a hard time telling me what beers they had besides Bud lite. So I drank water instead. Besides waitress lack of knowledge of draft beers she did a great Job very attentive meeting our needs. The bartender some biker gal full of tatoos was more interested in talking to some guy picking his nose at the bar than helping with my thirst,
Review Source:Very disappointed...after many good experieinces, tonight was not good. They changed the Margarita mix and it was awful..Apparently there have been many complaints according to our waitress but still no changes. They refused to honor the 10% Yelp discount as they are running a special all week on steak dinners....the Yelp check-in 10% just says that discount is off our next food order,. Instead, the manager gave us the discount on the chips and salsa, a whopping twenty cents off. Really? Our dinner 10%off would have been  two bucks and no negative review. We'll go back in hopes we repeat previous good experiences.
Review Source:came here for dinner, was served fast, by far the cleanest nicest bar Im pretty sure beaumont has ever seen, was there on a sunday night so it was quiet, food was good,
and reasonably priced. Then i saw the pics on the wall by the pool table... wtf, old and new high school pics, that was pretty neat to see some old friends up there...
This little bar in Beaumont is a pretty cool place to be if you like a sports bar feel that's not too overwhelming. The food here is ok, when they have specials it's even better. The only down side to the whole place is only having one pool table and one bathroom. Other than that it's worth giving it a try
Review Source:Stopped by the Sandtrap for lunch. This place has it all. Good service, cold beer, sportscenter, and delicious food. I ordered the steak sandwich and my wife ordered the shrimp cocktail. Both were delicious. Our waitress stopped by several times to see if we needed anything and was super nice. We will definitely be coming back.
Added bonus, I checked in on yelp and got 10% off the food bill.
When a baller enters yer bar - take care of him. Thats not to say the service was bad or anything.
Lets start with the bartenders - I believe her name is Storm - the one with the wicked sick tattoo is cool as hell. The dude (forget his name) is pretty cool too. The only thing is why dont you guys serve bottles? Its not bc im cheap or anything, but bc im trying to get my drink on!
I tried ordering a bottle of blue label (my fav), which is generally 4-500 in a bar. Was I going to finish it all? probably not but instead I ordered maybe 4-5 glasses that night? So instead of making 2-300 in profit, they made maybe 50-60, but I guess.
The service is good, the bartenders are nice, can't complain. But the lack of bottle service is what knocked off a star. But then again I guess this is a bar, and not a club. Either way I'll see yall soon again neways :)
It was late evening and most everything in the area was either closing or closed for food. Â Stopped in for a late bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised. Â the menu has a pretty good selection for a pub and the prices were very fair. Â Ordered a Chicken Wrap and was talked into some Tempera Pickles!
Chicken Wrap was very tasty. Â Now those tempera Pickles were unique! Â Not sure if I liked them or not but it was the first time I have ever seen anything like that on any menu!! Â Oh yes! Â Clawson pickles too! Interesting.
Place is a bit noisy but after all it is a sports bar so would not knock the establishment for that alone. Â Pretty good place and yes I will be back sometime when I am in the area. Â Probably will try something other than those tempera pickles however!!!!
I have been going to The Sandtrap for almost 2 years(as soon as I knew it existed), and I can speak for many many other regulars that this is a second home. You can literally walk in on any given day and pretty much know who will be there on that specific day.. whether they are customers sitting at the tables & the bar, or working the joint. I constantly hear other regulars refer to workers as well as the regulars as family. The food is great, the drinks are fab.
In regards to Walt R. and his "review", the way The Sandtrap is portrayed in this.. is false. As two servers were there at your attention, one of them was even off of her shift by then but still gladly there to make sure everyone was taken care of. The bartenders are in charge of the TV's and to change them to desired channels. Servers using manners to ASK the bartenders to change the channel rather than TELL them to sounds like a kindly functioning business more than anything else. Not to mention the fellow bartender whom was also off of his shift, jumped right up even while enjoying his time there with friends... just to also try and figure out what could be done about the specific game being asked for. I'm not sure how that is bad service at all, along with the servers still constantly smiling and apologizing through rude comments and childish eye-roles. It was sad to see.
BUT! The Sandtrap will continue on with its success with GREAT customers, there is no doubt about it! They are always looking for ways to improve and doing it with positive attitudes. Two thumbs up Sandtrap!
I've been here before at night, for drinks, and have always had great service. Â Today was the first time I had their food. Â We went for lunch and it was good! Â The Buffalo wings were impressive. Â We are from NY so totally picky about wings. Â Well, these were huge (what a surprise) and had good flavor. Â They are fried and have a breading on them. Â Served with ranch, carrots and celery. Â The other things we ordered were the roast beef sandwich with chiles and the Oriental chicken wrap. Â Hubby liked the roast beef and I had the wrap. Â It was pretty good. Â
The service was great and the place, itself, is really nice. Â Beautifully decorated with lots of tvs. Â Nice crowd of people there, too.
Went here tonight again and had great food. Â The sampler platter was great along with the Buffalo Chicken wrap, cheeseburger and french dip. Â So happy with the Sandtrap again!
update:  went here again  for lunch.  Everything was great!  So happy that Beaumont has a nice place like this.
The crap trap I mean the Sandtrap was very crappy and can use a new crew very snobby people was not comfortable at all took 30 min just to get a drink that tasted very watered down the only plus about this was  all the tvs and thats it...i will never go again and highly recommend nobody else to go....Taco shop down a couple doors  is way better....order the carnitas tacos there awesome.....
Review Source:I have to downgrade the Sand Trap since going there last night. Went for the BCS championship game. They can use a bigger TV across the aisle from main seating area.
The bar owners also may not be current on their gas bill. Last I checked, they were not turning this place into one of those trendy ice bars that serves vodka out of a chute and gives you fur coats to wear when you walk in. It felt colder than the inside of an igloo inside the Sand Trap. Everyone in the bar (very crowded) was wearing a jacket, except for one person.
The staff is friendly and they do have good service.
I have been coming to The Sandtrap since it opened and my wife and I love it. But the past few months the service has dropped considerably. They have been constantly under staffed and some of the few staff that are there lack good customer service skills. We waited over a half an hour for our first drinks one night and when we asked if we had been forgotten we were treated very rudely  Now I will tell you the bartenders are great and the food is superb and all reasonably priced. Once this problem with staffing is resolved my wife and I would really like to start going back. Hopefully it will be soon.
Review Source:Oh my poor SandTrap! I am emailing the owners today to tell them of the bad experiences we've had (all with service) over the last month. The food is still good, but can take a very long time to get. Love when Donny is working the bar, he is very friendly and great at customer service. If all the staff were like him, this place would be awesome.
UPDATE!!!
I emailed the owner, who quickly and professionally emailed me back. I am hoping their servers snap with it and stop chasing away customers.
Well first things first. Â I don't drink alcohol, but the food brings me to the place. Â Very good bar food and the place is very nice inside. Â TV's are all over the place, service is quick and friendly. Â I've gone a dozen or so times and every time I go, I'm happy to say that the food is always great.
Review Source:Quick & Dirty: Â A great little sports bar with all the bar basics and necessities. Â Beautiful new bar in growing Beaumont, close to PGA courses. Â FORE!
Long & on Par:
In Beaumont or "Blowmont" as some may say, there isn't a whole lot of choices yet when it comes to dining out or grabbing a beer. Â Sure there is a Chili's and a handful of little dive Mexican restaurants but other than that, there really isn't much beyond fast food.
Enter The Sandtrap (which I typically do with ease when golfing) a new and friendly place to have a beer, grab a bite, or play some pool. Â
The Sandtrap is located in a mini mall that is really the only thing around for a couple miles since the city is still being developed. Â Right now other than houses and golf courses there isn't much on the west side of the city.
When I walked in I was really surprised at how big and clean it was inside. Â There are plenty of TVs planted in key viewing areas throughout the bar and the bar, well let's just say is nice. Â I'm not sure what kind of wood it is but its beautiful and runs floor to ceiling and is well stocked. Â
The bar has some great specialty beers and liquors which was surprising to me since it's kind of a desolate locale. Â To eat they have a pretty nice menu and I had a Half Turkey Sandwich on grilled sourdough with a salad for $5.95 and happy hour domestics were $2.50, not bad. Â Their Bloody Mary's are nice and spicy too!
One thing I highly recommend if you stop in is their home made potato chips. Â They're really great and so are their chips and salsa, the salsa has a nice little kick!
It's nice to see a new, clean, friendly place to hang out and enjoy that's close to the PGA courses. Â Unfortunately Beaumont doesn't have a whole heck of a lot built yet but if the city keeps on track with more places like The Sandtrap then it's going to be a nice little city once it's all grown up!
Would I go here again? Â Sure would. Â Easy access to freeway and a nice stop off on the way to Palm Springs.
Should you go here? Â I highly suggest it. Â The staff will make you feel welcome and it's really a cool place to hang out.
Later,
Sam
This is a good local spot. I frequent the area for work...and with the few spots available for good food, beer and TV's, The Sandtrap is a nice place. People are friendly. Food is average and prices are fair; maybe slightly over priced.
One warning, apparently a snake bite has tequila and chili sauce in it...all my (young) life, i've known it to be hef or guiness with cider beer. I still took the shot! haha!
It's new, very clean and have more TVs than you could ask for. Fun to go there for Monday Night Football!
Worth checking out at least once.
What can I say? This place gets two thumbs way up! The food is good, the music is loud, the people are great! Prices are super friendly. I wasn't expecting these kind of prices from such a nice place. The decor is top notch, the beer is cold and they have flat screens everywhere!
Will definitively bring my friends here again and again. Once you get here, you won't want to leave! Â =)
