Stopped by for a beer before getting the train. Â Quiet in the early evening. Â Not a pretty place but OK in a dive bar kind of way. Â The front of the store is a package goods store. The back is a small bar with about ten bar stools; three flat screens turned to a Spanish channel. Latin music booming in the sound system. Â
Nothing on tap. Â A bottle of Heineken goes for $3.00. Â A glass is by request only. Â Back bar looked like you would not go thirsty. Â Bartender was friendly; probably wondered what the Anglo was doing here.
So I was asking a few questions. Â What were those dozen or so gizmos behind the bar. Â She told me that they were hookahs and that they were popular with the local Dominican community on Sunday nights. Â Strange but true.
The sign says bar and grill but there is no kitchen. Que?
