Schienebeck's Shanty

My sisters and I were here the night of Memorial Day.  We were concerned that we'd be stuck eating at a terrible chain, but were thrilled when we saw the "Open" sign at Schienebeck's!  

We were the only diners there that evening, so of course we had excellent service.  Our waitress was not obtrusive, but always there when we needed anything.  Food was excellently prepared and arrived quickly.  Took some pumpkin pie with us for the road, and it didn't make it very far.  Sooooo good!

Good hours and food. Home cooking at it's finest.

This is a great option in the area. I was last here for breakfast, and it was very good--the pancakes are (unexpectedly) the size of a dinner plate. Small complaint, but I'm  not a huge fan of the wide open dining room; I felt kind of....exposed? I hope this place continues to do well!
